Spoiler for VAZ 2114 - how to choose, install, replace and repair

There is probably no car enthusiast who doesn’t know what a spoiler is . Many people know that it is designed to improve the aerodynamic properties of the car. However, many car enthusiasts have a vague idea of how it does this and whether it is needed in everyday use. Some install it just for beauty.

Is a spoiler needed for a VAZ 2114?

Spoilers are becoming increasingly popular among owners of domestic cars, but sometimes they are frankly unnecessary; in this article we will discuss the need for such a part for the VAZ 2114.
Many car owners, when tuning their car, try to install as many improvements as possible on it. Both technical and visual, but sometimes such improvements may not have a very good effect on the dynamics and control of the car.

A little about the functions of the part

The wing is one of the elements that affects the aerodynamics of the car.
It is responsible for organizing the correct direction of the air flow coming from the trunk of the car or its roof. Thanks to the presence of such a part, it is possible to avoid various turbulence, as well as the appearance of vacuum zones that may occur behind the car. Thanks to this spare part, the aerodynamic drag of the car is reduced.

In addition to the fact that the wing presses and holds the car well on the road surface, it also has one useful function in rainy weather. As everyone knows, the spoiler is also an external tuning element. It is often installed on VAZ cars for precisely this reason.

Aerodynamic drag

The drag coefficient actually decreases after installing a wing on a car, and this fact has been proven.
The percentage of this coefficient depends only on the shape and size of the installed wing. If such an element is installed in conjunction with a hood air intake, the drag coefficient may become even lower.

That is why we must say that a spoiler for the VAZ 2114 is a really necessary accessory, not only improving the appearance, but also affecting the technical characteristics.

As for those elements that are needed on the VAZ 2114 spoiler, it is worth mentioning the installation of brake lights, which will significantly increase the level of safety on the road, and will not affect other technical characteristics, both parts and the car as a whole. Moreover, such an improvement will not require a lot of money or effort, because installing a brake light is very simple.

If you wanted to remove the device from the trunk lid of your VAZ 2114, we advise you to reconsider this decision, because this element not only decorates the car body, but also significantly affects its technical characteristics and aerodynamics.

Fault localization

Understanding the operating principle allows you to determine exactly why the brake lights may not light up:

  • The fuse has blown. In the diagram, the fuses are marked with the letter F (from English - Fuse) and the serial number of the seat in the fuse block, for example, F3;

  • poor contact at connectors;
  • the light bulbs have burned out, but since the lights are connected in parallel, the likelihood that 2 lamps will burn out at once is extremely low;
  • poor contact on the negative terminal of the lights. In this case, problems may begin not only with the feet, but also with the lighting of the remaining lamps in the lanterns;
  • Damage to the negative track in the lamp board. From the total mass directly to the brake light lamp, the minus goes along a special path on the board. The path may collapse from water or mechanical impact;
  • malfunction of the brake light switch, the so-called frog;
  • broken wiring, oxidation of contacts.

Troubleshooting algorithm

To detect a fault in the electrical network, you will need a multimeter or a tester, which you can make yourself. Previously, we told you how to use a multimeter, so we won’t focus on that.

The sequence of searching for the cause of the breakdown:

  • Check the fuse for the brake light circuit. The location diagram of the fuse links can be found in the repair and operating manual for your car; often the symbol of the protected circuits is located on the back of the cover covering the fuse mounting block. If the installed fuse of the required rating immediately blows, there is a short circuit (short circuit) in the circuit. Please note that the fuse can protect not only the feet, but also other circuits. Installing a fuse with an increased rating is fraught with the risk of a car fire;

  • If oxidation is detected on the terminals, clean the contacts mechanically or use an aerosol contact cleaner.
  • Having turned on the ignition first and holding the brake pedal depressed, check whether there is power on the positive wire that goes from the limit switch to the rear light connector. If there is power, there is a malfunction in the lights themselves;
  • check whether the positive signal is coming from the mounting block to the limit switch. If + comes, but when you press the brake pedal it does not appear on the second terminal of the limit switch, then the problem is in the “frog”;
  • If there is no + at the limit switch terminal, examine the circuit up to the mounting block. If the wire is intact and securely fastened in the connectors, then the problem is in the mounting block.

If, for example, there is a + on both terminals of the limit switch when you press the brake pedal, but it does not come to the headlamp connector, then you need to look for the location of the wiring break. You can check the existing “frog” with a multimeter. Simulate the state of the brake pedal being pressed, attach probes to the terminals, turning the multimeter into resistance measurement mode. If there is no resistance between the terminals, the limit switch is faulty. If you removed the brake pedal limit switch for diagnostics, adjust its position correctly during installation. The brake lights should light up at the slightest touch of the brake pedal. The search principle we considered is suitable for most cars. But, for example, in some cars, a relay is also involved in the operation of the brake lights, due to which the brake lights may also not light up. That is why it is always necessary to start by reading the electrical diagram.

How to install a spoiler on a VAZ 2114

To increase the aerodynamics of their car, drivers install special devices - spoilers. With them, the appearance of transport completely changes. Devices are installed at the rear and front. This makes the design modern and attractive.

How to properly install a spoiler on a VAZ 2114? What secrets will help you do this yourself?

Rear spoiler for VAZ 2114

Tools you will need for your work

To replace light bulbs on the instrument panel of a VAZ 2114 and other models, you will need the following tools:

  • flat screwdriver;
  • Phillips screwdriver;
  • small pliers;
  • rags.

Independent work is quite justified, since the price of this service in car services as of December 27, 2022 is on average 700 rubles, while the lamps themselves cost from 20 to 60 rubles. At the same time, the driver will conduct an inspection of the car’s interior, which is always useful. Now you can start repairing, but it’s better to first understand the dashboard diagram.

What does it look like?

Large spoilers affect the aerodynamic performance of the car. Thanks to these devices, the car is able to reach high speeds while driving and consume fuel more economically. Motorists often use rear and front spoilers.

The choice depends on the driver's preference and expected result. It is necessary to pay attention to the material from which this part is made. Often, car enthusiasts install a decorative rear spoiler, which only helps to change the appearance, but does not affect the speed and other parameters of the car in any way.

Tuning VAZ 2114

To properly fix the spoiler, it is recommended to adhere to the following sequence of work:

  • The length and width of the trunk are measured.
  • Make marks with a marker in those places where there will be a fastening connection between the device and the car body.
  • After drilling the holes, remove the chips and paint the edges to avoid rust in the future.
  • Install the brackets into the hole and secure the fixture using nuts and bolts.
  • If using a decorative option, it is perfectly acceptable to use an adhesive instead of drilling.

Order of Operations

  1. Remove the radio cover using a screwdriver, carefully threading the tool under the socket. First we pull it out from the bottom, then the top part of the lining.
  2. The electrical wires leading to the cigarette lighter must be disconnected.
  3. Now we find the screws on the dashboard and unscrew them.
  4. Remove the handles from the damper sliders and the heater switch by pulling them towards you.

Recommendations

Correct installation of a high-quality spoiler on a VAZ 2114 will help reduce vehicle air resistance and fuel consumption. If the fixation of the device is not done correctly, then this will not improve the performance of the car, but, on the contrary, will reduce its aerodynamics.

To prevent this from happening, you should familiarize yourself with the recommendations of experts on how to install a spoiler with your own hands:

  • If there is no space for installing the device, then there is no need to drill the body. An adhesive sealant is quite suitable. A prerequisite is complete solidification of the substance within 3-4 days;
  • to prevent rust, it is recommended to lubricate the joints between the device and the body with machine oil or wax;

Installing a spoiler on a VAZ 2114

  • It is better to paint before installation. It is desirable that the color matches the main color of the car or contrasts;
  • At the fastening points, if desired, use not a polypropylene seal, but an ordinary piece of vacuum rubber.

Drivers who have doubts about the final result turn to specialized salons, where experienced specialists will do this work quite quickly and efficiently.

Let's summarize

So, any car owner can replace the light bulbs in the dashboard if he wants to do something with his own hands. The procedure takes about half an hour. While a trip to a car service center and talk about replacing the entire dashboard, which auto electricians will certainly offer, performing the service itself will take the driver much more time and effort.

The brake light indication is one of the most important signals indicating driver actions. Therefore, it is impossible to postpone repairs if the brake lights are not on. If you notice a malfunction along the way and you are unable to eliminate the cause of the breakdown, turn on the hazard lights and drive at low speed to the nearest service station or a place suitable for DIY repairs.

Installing a spoiler on a VAZ 2114

After buying the car, it was painful to look at it without a spoiler. But in my opinion, a 14ka without a spoiler is a 9ka, hahaha)) For me, it looks more beautiful with a spoiler, and somehow it’s not so “naked.” On one of the cloudy and already cool autumn days, I went to the car market and found this miracle, in the color of the car, for 2000 rubles. There was a spoiler for 1,500 rubles, but it had to be painted, which would have been much more expensive)) I bought it in color and went joyfully to the garage. I thought for a long time about how to drill holes, I was afraid of messing up and didn’t want to go to the car market again, only for a new trunk lid, hahaha

To install the spoiler, you need to make 4 holes in the trunk lid, and one larger hole for the wires to the brake light. Before starting work, I covered the trunk lid with masking tape so as not to scratch it when applying the spoiler to the lid) I tried many ways to make holes evenly. I left prints with paint, and I glued plasticine to the trunk lid, and I left marks on it with pins , and measured with a ruler in millimeters on the sides, calculated... difficult. but after going through all these methods, I finally measured it out and yes, I made the long-awaited holes in the trunk lid. The main thing here is to measure correctly seven times, drill one) I started trying it on, and everything turned out 5+, after all, I’m not my mother’s handyman, hahaha)) Everyone says that you need to put rubber bands under the spoiler itself so that the spoiler doesn’t rub against the lid, so that moisture wouldn’t collect there and those places wouldn’t rust... but I couldn’t find any rubber bands, so I cut out pieces from the splint (sound insulation). It turned out not bad either) In the end, I installed everything, screwed it on, connected the brake light, and I just couldn’t be happier)) Happy travels to everyone!

Typical faults and methods for their elimination

There are many reasons why taillights may fail or partially not work, but the main one is failure of the flexible printed circuit board. This is, in fact, the most sore spot of the rear light devices of the VAZ 2115.

Often, flimsy contact pads that pretend to be light bulb socket contacts fail, although in fact there are no sockets in the flashlights - a plastic ring that fixes the light bulb, a plastic pressure pad (all with latches) and contact pads on the board. It couldn't be simpler, but funnier too.

That's the whole "cartridge"

The service life of such a “cartridge” is six months maximum. Considering that the car was produced for 15 years, then this approach of the developers to the flashlight, the design of which has not changed over all these years, is surprising, to say the least. But the fact is clear.

Converting the board to cartridges

You can, of course, regularly change the flexible board - this is not a problem. But, firstly, the board costs money and, in principle, should not be a consumable item in order to buy it in packages. And, secondly, when someone is dead, for example, you won’t immediately notice “stop”, which means that at any moment we risk getting “in the butt” in the literal sense of the word.

Therefore, it’s better to tinker and do what the VAZ designers should have done a long time ago - replace all this flexible hack with normal cartridges. So, we go to the store, buy three ordinary plastic lamp sockets: one for a single-helix P21W, two for a double-helix P21/5W lamp. They are practically the same in size and appearance.

For modification we will need 3 such cartridges for one flashlight

You will also have to buy a set of four-pin male-female car connectors. The photo below shows only an option, but there are many types of such connectors. In addition, any others for a larger number of contacts will do.

We'll also buy a couple of these connectors

How to disassemble the rear light board? Elementary and without any tools. For speed, you can use an awl, the tip of a knife or a screwdriver, but you can do everything with your bare hands. We press the latch (photo on the left) and pull out the plastic imitation of the cartridge. Everything else will fall apart on its own. We remove all three cartridges.

Disassembling the rear corner light board of a VAZ 2115

We completely disassemble the panel - remove the plastic lamp clamps, remove the flexible board. We mark places for new cartridges, while focusing on the position of the old ones.

Marking seats for cartridges

We remove the mounting posts for old cartridges and everything that interferes with the installation of new cartridges using, for example, a soldering iron. We drill holes of such a diameter that our new cartridges fit in there tightly and do not dangle. If there is no appropriate drill, drill with a smaller diameter, then bore with a round file.

Ready-made seats for cartridges

For the turn signal bulb we use this socket - it takes up less space, but you can put another one - just cut it a little (however, this one also had to be cut a little).

Turn signal holder

We install the cartridges in their places and fix them in any available way. In the photo below they are simply soldered with a soldering iron. Not exactly aesthetically pleasing, but reliable. But this “aesthetics” will still not be visible. We take out the wires of the “turn” cartridge through the hole made.

Installed lamp sockets

All that remains is to solder the connectors: – one – to the light bulbs, the other – to the flashlight power harness, having previously cut off the old one.

Note! In order to replace the spoiler, you will need to take with you a set of tools, which will include: A flat-head screwdriver or you can also use a knife instead, and you will also need an extension cord with a socket head or a wrench!

What does a car look like with and without a spoiler? Many people are interested in this question, because people always want to transform their car into a more beautiful and eye-catching car, but basically in many cars, the modernization of the car begins with a spoiler, someone removes it and someone still leaves it, but it’s hard to imagine what a car will look like with and without a spoiler installed, that’s why we’ve posted two photographs below that show two different cars, but as you’ve already noticed, they are the same color and the angle from which both photographs were taken is approximately similar, so you can still understand How does the car look better and is it worth removing the spoiler from it or not.

How much does a spoiler cost for a VAZ 2114

The cost of a VAZ 2114 rear door spoiler in Russia varies from 500 to 2,800 rubles.

The spoiler, regardless of engine size or suspension settings, on a domestic car is an aerodynamic element of the body. The latter was also standardly installed by the AvtoVAZ plant in several variations. The main purpose of such a spoiler is visual styling and practical application when closing/opening the trunk lid. Its use is made possible thanks to a durable fastening system, which additionally has plugs that give a complete appearance.

It is worth noting that in the restyling of the VAZ 2114 it received a spoiler with similar weight and size characteristics, but with a built-in brake signal. This adds visibility to the car, since the brake light has moved precisely to the line of sight of the rear driver.

Considering that the new type of spoiler was first used in 2011, its compatibility with other LADA models is quite high, namely:

  • VAZ 2109 1987-2011.
  • VAZ 2108 1984-2003.
  • VAZ 2114 2001-2013.
  • VAZ 2113 2004-2013.

SEARCH PRINCIPLE

To find a fault in any vehicle on-board network system, you should use the method of sequential elimination of elements. The point is to consistently check electrical appliances and sections of the circuit, excluding elements from the list of reasons that could cause a breakdown. To do this, you need to clearly understand the design and operating principle of the system. When troubleshooting, you need to move from the components that require the least effort to check, to the most difficult to diagnose elements.

ELECTRICAL DIAGRAM

We immediately emphasize that the pinout of connectors and color markings of wires may differ not only between different models of the same automaker, but also among one model of different years of manufacture. Before you start searching for the cause of the breakdown, you need to find an electrical diagram specifically for your car model.

We will consider the principle of operation of brake lights and the troubleshooting algorithm using the example of the VAZ 2101-2102 circuit. The photo shows the general diagram of the vehicle's lighting and light signaling. We need to isolate the components involved in the operation of brake lights.

  • 6 – mounting fuse block;
  • 13 – brake light switch. It is a non-locking button (returns to its original position after removing the force). Located directly next to the brake pedal. When the brake pedal is released, the contacts of the limit switch are open, no current passes through it. Accordingly, when pressed, the contacts close, allowing flow through the lamps;
  • 19 – lamps that light up when you press the brake pedal.

We do not have a diagram of the mounting block, but we know in advance that the brake lights only work when the ignition is on. There is a wire from the mounting block to the brake light limit switch, on which there is a constant + after the ignition is turned on. As soon as the limit switch contacts close, + goes to the brake light bulbs, which are connected in parallel. The “ground” of the rear lights is common and consists of a wire screwed to the car body.

In the diagram we presented, the elements are depicted as close as possible to how they look in reality. Don’t be alarmed if you only find a schematic diagram for your car with symbolic images of the elements. Schematic diagram of external lighting for VAZ 2114, 2115:

  • 3 – mounting block;
  • 8 – lamps for side lights and brake lights;
  • 11 – brake light limit switch;
  • K4 – relay for monitoring the serviceability of brake light lamps and side lights.

What affects the cost of a product?

The first pricing characteristic is the type of spoiler. This could be a spoiler on both the rear window and the trunk lid. The average price difference between them is about 950 rubles: weight and size characteristics, materials, installation method, practical efficiency.

In addition to the type of product, the price is also affected by the following parameters:

  1. Manufacturer.
  2. Availability of a brake light (equipment with a lighting device adds at least 300 rubles to the retail price).
  3. color.
  4. Material (ABS plastic is used by default, but fiberglass models are also available).

But, most of all, painting affects the cost of a ready-to-use body element. Depending on the color, the added value can vary in the range of 400-800 rubles, which, in fact, forms the mentioned maximum price of 2,800 rubles.

Examples of prices for original and tuned spoilers

  • Visor “Voron Glass” for the rear window of VAZ 2108, 2109, 2114 – 500 rub.
  • Lip spoiler, unpainted – 590 RUR.
  • Rear window deflector “M-Version” (2109-2114), tuning – 800 rub.
  • Trade Auto, 21140-6301116-00 (PVC trunk spoiler without a lamp, for painting) – RUB 1,107.
  • AvtoVAZ, rear door spoiler in Cosmos 665 color (under the canopy) – RUB 1,900.

In addition to products, the installation of which does not require changes to the design of the car, and also does not raise suspicion during a technical inspection, it is worth noting tuned spoilers at an affordable price. These include:

  • Fast and Furious (on metal stands with four mounting points) – 2,200 rubles.
  • V-Max (fiberglass in transport primer for grinding) – RUB 3,350.
  • Rs-2 (fiberglass and polyester resin) – RUB 1,500.
  • Impulse “AVR” (reinforced with mortgages, weight is 3.9 kg) – 2,100 rubles.
  • Ferrari Ango 2114 (width at the mounting point 125 mm, extending beyond the standard holes) – RUB 2,740.

When installing tuned spoilers on the rear door of a VAZ 2114, a leak may occur in the trunk, which will negatively affect the operation of the rear lighting equipment.

VAZ 2115 stops do not work

The VAZ 2114 (2113) car is equipped with brake lights in the rear lights (one in each light). Plus, an additional brake light in the spoiler on the rear door.

There are few reasons why the brake lights of a VAZ 2114, 2113 car do not work. Let's list them all and try to figure out this problem ourselves.

Stop lights (brake lights) of VAZ 2114 (2113) do not work, reasons

Either one brake light or two at once may not work.

The brake light bulb in the rear light is burnt out.

Most often, only one lamp burns out, but sometimes two lamps burn out.

Brake light (stop) lamp in the rear light of a VAZ 2114 (2113) car

In this case, you will have to replace the lamp with a new one or a known good one. The brake light uses a P21W lamp. Similar lamps for the turn signal, reverse light, and fog light are in the same rear light. They can be used to check the brake light by replacing it.

The contacts in the stop lamp socket have oxidized

In this case, a “break” occurs in the electrical circuit of the lamp. Most often, in this case, one brake light will not work, while the other will be on.

Cartridge and contacts of the brake light lamp in the rear light of VAZ 2114, 2113

To restore contact, you need to turn the light bulb in the socket several times, or remove it and clean the oxidized contacts with fine-grained sandpaper.

The wiring block for the rear light is faulty (chip)

Either it is not securely fastened, or the contacts have oxidized. In any case, there will be an open circuit in the electrical circuit.

It is necessary to remove and put the block on the terminals of the rear light board several times to restore oxidized or unreliable contact. Subsequently, you can clean the pins on the board and the wire tips in the connecting block.

The fuse in the mounting block has blown

If the fuse is blown, both brake lamps in the taillights will not light.

The electrical circuit for turning on the brake lights of the VAZ 2114 (2113) is protected by fuse F3 (7.5A) in the fuse and relay mounting block. Check the integrity of the fuse. If faulty, replace with a new one. If the fuse is blown again, you should look for a short circuit in the circuit. According to the connection diagram shown below.

The track in the rear light board has crumbled

As a result, the electrical circuit will be broken (“open”), and the brake light lamp will not light up.

Tail light board tracks for brake light

It is necessary to remove the rear light board where the brake light is not illuminated and inspect it for damage to the tracks. If you cannot visually detect the location of the damage, you should “ring” the tracks with a multimeter or test lamp. Wiring is soldered to the damaged track and the board continues to function. For details, see the article “Checking the rear light board.”

The rear light ground is missing

In this case, one or two lights may not work. The negative wire of the lamp of each of the rear lights comes out of its connecting block of wires (chips) and is attached to the body next to it. Over time, this connection oxidizes and the contact disappears (the circuit opens).

It is necessary to unscrew the nut securing the tip of the negative wire to the body. Clean the pin and tip. After which the contact will be restored and the stop will light up.

Brake light switch faulty

If it malfunctions, both brake lights will not light up. The switch is located under the brake pedal and, after pressing it, closes the contacts of the electric stop circuit.

We remove two wires from it - white-red and pink-red, and connect them together with a piece of wire. The brake lights are on fire - we change the sensor, no, then we check the electrical circuit. In addition, we check the adjustment of the free play of the brake pedal, since the position of the switch may be broken, it does not work completely and the contacts do not close.

“Open” in the electrical circuit of the stop lamps

The cause of the “break” may be insecurely fastened wire harness chips, oxidation of the contacts in them, breaking of the circuit wires or their damage as a result of repairs.

Using a multimeter in voltmeter mode, you can check the presence of voltage in various parts of the electrical circuit and determine the damaged area. The best way to do this is to use a diagram.

Stop lights (brake lights) in the rear lights of a VAZ 2114, 2113 car, wiring diagram

First of all, we check the presence of voltage at the tip of the red wire in the rear light blocks to understand the malfunction in the lights or circuit. Then we check for voltage at the tip of the white-red wire of the brake light switch under the brake pedal.

Notes and additions

Before carrying out a detailed diagnosis of a malfunction of the VAZ 2114, 2113 stops, it is necessary to visually inspect the accessible sections of the brake light switching circuit and its elements, and also remember whether any repairs have been carried out on the car, since often the solution to the problem is on the surface.

Where can I buy?

Any spoiler, both in rough and finished form in body color, can be purchased in a specialized online store. This will not only save money, but also familiarize yourself with detailed technical information and view real photos of the car after such external styling.

You can buy spoilers in color only if the car is garaged or has low mileage. Otherwise, the color difference will be very noticeable. In any other situation, you can purchase a spoiler for painting. Such original products have an excellent degree of preparation, so you can even work with aerosol paints in cans.

Making a part with your own hands

The automotive markets offer a huge number of spoilers for any vehicle. True, the wing for the VAZ 2114, which you are tuning, is unlikely to please you with its variety. Therefore, if you want to stand out from the crowd of identical cars, then make a spoiler yourself.

Some car owners are experimenting with materials for making a spoiler, for example, using foam sealant. But usually such a wing is very expensive, since it is not always possible to calculate how many cans of sealant will be needed in a particular case. A more affordable option is polystyrene foam; you will need a sheet of material 5 cm thick and 1x1 m in area.

You also need to buy epoxy glue in paper packaging, paint and varnish in cans. You will also need a grinding tool. Now we cut out the blade diagonally for the future spoiler. It is necessary to make fastenings; to do this, we cut out plates from sheet steel 1.5 mm thick. We make holes 3 mm wide in increments of 3 cm. Screw 2 nuts into the base. Now we glue the resulting structure to the existing workpiece.

Now you need to cover the spoiler blade with fabric in 2 layers; it is recommended to take unnecessary shirts under silk. Apply glue with a brush and wrap fabric on top (up to 3 layers). Give time for the substance to polymerize. The finished wing needs to be glued, puttied and painted in the desired color. You will need about 3 cans of paint. If desired, you can arrange a place for a stop bar. Plexiglas is suitable for this.

Some car enthusiasts, in addition to a spoiler, also install a lip on the front bumper. It is easier to manufacture than a wing. To make a lip, you need to remove the car bumper and turn it over. Build a blank of the required shape from polystyrene foam. Next, wrap it in plastic bags, nylon tights (or similar material) in several layers, coat everything with epoxy glue.

When the top material has dried, carefully remove the blank. Leave the workpiece to dry for several days. If you feel that the lip is not strong enough, you can glue a reinforcing mesh inside. After this, you can sand, prime and paint the part.

Removing the spoiler on the VAZ 2114

Today I’ll tell you about one problem with the Lada 2114. It’s a spoiler. More precisely, its fastenings. On new models 14, and in principle on older ones, the fastenings break over time, and it’s only a matter of time and the spoiler begins to rattle. This happened to me too, and I want to warn you against my mistake. TAKE IT OFF IMMEDIATELY, either straight away, or immediately after you broke it. When mine started to rattle, I waved my hand, saying I’ll do it later, and drove like this for half a year, in the end I rubbed the trunk down to bare metal, where rust had already started. Removing it is not a problem, remove the plastic trim inside the trunk, tighten the 4 nuts that hold the spoiler, disconnect the wire from the brake light and remove it. It’s not so visible in the photo, but it was a sad picture, for 1 time I bought plugs and sealed them with tape, but this is a temporary measure.

I had to do something, I couldn’t cope with it on my own, I turned to a friend at a service station, they promised to do a “marafet” for 4 thousand) I myself was looking for where to do it and the price tag was about 6 thousand so I agreed. On Saturday morning I gave the car away and late in the evening I saw her with such an ass)

Mmm

I’m completely satisfied with the result, by the way, the spoiler could have been repaired, they say they fill it with epoxy and fix the fasteners, but rationally judging that it could rub like that again, I refused to repair the spoiler and threw it in the garage. The mounts looked like this (empty hollow holes)

That’s the way it is guys, so my advice to you is to take it the fuck off, especially if it’s already broken. If you like its presence, then I advise you to look for a spoiler from the old 14 models, the fastenings there are much stronger, thanks for your attention!

Preparatory work

We clean the fifth door and spoiler from dust and dirt.

Assembling the repair kit:

  • polyurethane foam;
  • glue-sealant (superglue);
  • latex gloves;
  • epoxy resin;
