How to lock a Lada Vesta with a key

You can't just lock a car with central locking using a key. The lock cylinder is located only on the driver's side, the remaining openings are closed centrally. You should be able to perform a simple manipulation, which we will describe below:

Open the driver's door; Find on the center console in the cabin a button with a picture of a door and a key (above the interior temperature controls); Press this key for five seconds (a single press will lock the doors for a short period of time due to the fact that the driver's door is open); Make sure that all doors are locked; Leave the car, close the driver's door mechanically. Where can I get a spare key?

This is where the spare tip tag comes in handy. It is by the number engraved on this sticker that your dealership selects the appropriate opening element. Not only will the tip be made, but the remote control itself will be coded according to your system. For Lada Vesta you can choose several different ignition control panels. Therefore, you can order yourself a new DPU without losing your regular one.

Please note that Lada vesta opening devices may be different. Depending on the vehicle’s configuration, you can see forms ranging from a regular mechanical key to a folding key with DPU. The variety of types suggests the ability to make spare keys yourself or contact any key master. In order to make a new kit, you need:

Purchase a blank for a specific Lada vesta model (otherwise the size will not fit); Copy the tip pattern (by removing it from the body or removing it from the mount); Program the chip to synchronize with your alarm system.

Where to get a spare key

If you need to manufacture, purchase, or duplicate a Lada Vesta flip key, you need to know the number with the code that is engraved on the tag. Using this number, the dealer organization determines the appropriate kit. Some models allow the use of three or four remote controls. You can buy a Lada Vesta key at car dealerships or online stores.

In accordance with the modification and equipment of the car, the Lada Vesta key has a different shape (from the simplest to the modern folding one).

Based on this, it is possible to do it yourself.

  • There are blanks available on the market. You need to know the car model, otherwise the board will not fit in size;
  • The second stage will be copying the tip. If excluding the fasteners from the body is not enough, the product itself is disassembled, and then the blade of the Lada Vesta ignition key is sharpened;
  • Finally, to complete the work, the chip in contact with the alarm should be programmed. Craftsmen who know how to operate a soldering iron have no problem performing such an operation.

In some configurations of Lada XRAY, Vesta, Largus, Granta, Kalina or Priora cars, an ignition key with a built-in remote control (factory alarm) can be used, which controls the central locking. If it stops working, first try changing the battery.

The Lada Xray remote control uses a CR2032, 3V battery.

If the issue of opening doors is quite easy to deal with, then the question of how to lock a car with a spare key may confuse some owners. The fact is that only the driver's door has a key; all other doors are locked with the central lock, but this case also has a solution.

While in the car, open the driver's door, then hold down the central locking button shown in photo “3”. Pay attention to the word “Press”, because if you simply press the button once, the central locking will close and immediately open, since the driver’s door is open.

In general, after pressing the button, it will behave the same way, but if you keep the button pressed further, the central lock will lock the doors again and will not open them. After the operations have been completed, you can safely leave the car and close the driver’s door mechanically as shown in photo “4”.

But this case is not the worst, because as you already understood, with the help of a central lock, you can quite simply lock the car, but what to do if you need to close a vehicle with a dead battery? In this situation, the central locking is no longer our help, because it simply will not respond to the press of a button.

In order to close the car, you will have to resort to a little trick: open any passenger door and look at the locking mechanism, you will see a small cavity, which is indicated in photo “5” by a red arrow. If you insert any flat object into this cavity, such as a key or a screwdriver, and press this object down, as shown in photo “6”, the door will lock, after which all that remains is to slam this door and repeat these steps with the remaining passenger doors, and the driver’s The door can be closed the old fashioned way through the key holder.

Using a spare

When faced with a breakdown or loss of the main remote control for the first time, the car owner will not immediately understand how to open the Lada Vesta with a spare key and without a key fob.

To do this, you need to pry up and remove the plug on the driver's door handle that hides the lock hole. Through it you can mechanically open the car.

LADA VESTA. ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT OF THE LADA VEST A - REMOVAL / INSTALLATION OF MAIN UNITS AND PARTS

1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE SYSTEM, DEVICE AND OPERATION FEATURES

The electrical equipment is made according to a single-wire circuit - the negative terminals of sources and consumers of electricity are connected to the car body, which acts as a second wire. Rated voltage 12 V.

The vehicle's main power circuits are protected by fuses. Before replacing a blown fuse, it is necessary to find out the cause of its blown and eliminate it.

Attention! When repairing a vehicle or electrical system, it is necessary to disconnect the earth wire terminal from the battery.

When operating a vehicle and when checking the electrical circuit of the vehicle, it is not allowed to use fuses that are not provided for by the design of the vehicle.

BATTERY – REMOVAL / INSTALLATION Removal
Place the car in a working place, apply the parking brake, turn off the ignition, raise the hood.

Before disconnecting the terminals from the battery terminals, you must:

– wait until the electric fan of the engine cooling system stops;

– wait until the end of the data saving procedure in the ECU (1 min).

Do not remove the terminals from the battery terminals while the ignition is on, as this may cause errors in the ECM or lead to failure of electrical components.

The reliability of the visual battery status indicator is not guaranteed by after-sales service, so the visual indicator should not be used as a means of monitoring battery status.

How to open a Lada Vesta with just a key

To open the car door in a way that is suitable when the battery is charged, you need to remove the cap on the right side of the driver's handle, which looks like a regular one. It is necessary to open the plug in a specific slot using a suitable object. The cap, under which the lock is located, fits tightly and cannot be removed with bare hands.

Knowing how to open Vesta without keys, the car owner can save nerves and time. Repeating the entire procedure with the plug, on a car with a dead battery, you need to replace it or charge it. If there is no power for the battery, you need to find a groove on any of the door handles except the driver's. It will open using the control panel.

If it is not possible to open the car doors with the standard alarm, you can use another method. The driver's door handle looks the same as everyone else, but this is just an illusion. In fact, on the right side of the handle, under the cap, there is a key hidden, with which you can open the car.

The cap that closes the mask sits securely and is quite difficult to remove with bare hands; it is much more logical to pry the plug in a special technological hole using an oblong object, such as a key. Photo “1” shows the same hole used to remove the plug, and in photo “2” you can see the finished result of our labors.

How to determine if the battery is dead

For Lada Vesta, Largus and XRAY cars. If the clarity and range of the remote control decreases, the battery must be replaced.

For Lada Priora, Granta and Kalina cars. If the supply voltage of the remote control is within normal limits, then each time you press any button on the remote control, the indicator lights up with a short flash. If it lights up with two short flashes or does not light up at all, then the battery should be replaced.

How to change the battery in the Lada Vesta ignition key

Buttons consume energy, so you need to remember the battery charge and change it in time. The first sign of low battery will be a slow response when pressed. The Lada Vesta flip key is synchronized with a standard battery. To change it you need a screwdriver. The remote control opens with the blade extended, otherwise the case and microcircuits can be damaged. The tool is inserted into the hole in the center line of the case and with a simple movement separates the remote control into two halves. After changing the battery, you need to use a light snapping motion to assemble the product.

Cases

The plastic body of the control panel is fragile, like other switchblade bollards. If dropped from human height, the ignition control panel may break. A special case for the Lada Vesta key can save the remote control from scratches and damage.

The case for the remote control is a silicone shell of different colors (green, red, orange, yellow, blue, transparent, black). The rubber of the cover is soft; upon impact, it absorbs the kinetic energy of contact. At the same time, the presence of the shell does not affect keypresses in any way.

There are many manufacturers and stores where you can buy such a case. You need to look for a department with car accessories or place an online order. The price is small - from 100 to 300 rubles.

A modern ignition control panel is a convenient device that gives respectability to the owner. If you treat it with care - protect the case from damage, replace batteries on time, do not ignore existing problems - it will serve you for a long time and reliably.

general information

Unforeseen moments happen quite often in life; fortunately, many manufacturers of cars and other equipment foresaw possible scenarios. Car owners of Lada Vesta cars know that their car is controlled using the standard alarm system's flip key, but what happens if you lose it or the battery simply runs out?

in such a situation, it seems like the most competent decision, but what if there is simply no such opportunity?

The main task of the immobilizer is to prevent possible unauthorized attempts to start the engine. Typically, Ladas (in particular Prioras, Kalinas and Grants) are equipped with standard APS-6 anti-theft devices. On Luxury vehicles, standard immobilizers are activated by the manufacturer before the car goes on sale, but on vehicles of other configurations this must be done independently. Below we will provide instructions for learning the key and activating the immobilizer, and now we will take a closer look at its kit.

The kit consists of two working keys (black) and one master key (red), its task is to train the system. Using the control lamp, signals are sent about the current state of the programming process, and if it starts flashing quickly (five times within a second), then the learning process is proceeding correctly.

Stopping blinking is a sign of incorrect actions or breakdown. It may also indicate that the allotted time for training has been exceeded or that the key used was trained by another immobilizer.

Activating the immobilizer requires the following actions:

  • The doors are closed, the ignition is turned on with the red key and they wait for six seconds;
  • The key is pulled out, and the car icon on the panel begins to blink rapidly (five times per second);
  • Then, as quickly as possible (after a maximum of five seconds), the ignition is turned on with the black key;
  • Normally, three and then two squeaks will be heard, after which the ignition is turned off and the key is removed;
  • No later than five seconds later, the ignition is turned on with the red key;
  • When you hear three and then two squeaks, the ignition turns off, but the key is not removed from the lock;
  • After one squeak, the ignition is turned on again (again spending no more than five seconds on this) for two, maximum three seconds;
  • Then the ignition is turned off, but the key is not removed;
  • There are three beeps, the machine goes out, but you don’t need to remove the key right away; you need to take it out after ten seconds;
  • Check the activation of the immobilizer by turning on the ignition with any of the keys. Successful activation of the device will be indicated by a non-lit machine icon.
