UAZ-469 is an all-wheel drive SUV of Soviet and Russian production, mass-produced since 1972. During the existence of the USSR, it was considered the main command vehicle, common in the Warsaw Pact countries. The army modification of the 469 is the successor to the GAZ-69 model. Regardless of the type of execution, the car has three versions - a standard five-seat station wagon or phaeton, as well as a seven-seat version. In 2003, UAZ stopped production of the 469 due to the release of a successor called “Hunter”, but in 2010 the company introduced a small-scale batch of vehicles with the UAZ-315196 index. A special feature of this special series is the circulation of 5,000 copies in honor of the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Second World War.

What fluids are needed for Patriot to work?

The domestic UAZ Patriot, which has a 409 engine, and a number of other cars that are similar in their mechanisms and design, are required to have the above-mentioned refueling tanks, which are presented in the form of tanks made of plastic and located in various units. It is in such devices that different working fluids are located. Check out the list of working fluids present in the UAZ Patriot:

  • Transmission and engine oils are filled into the power unit, transfer case, as well as gearboxes and axles.
  • Antifreeze or antifreeze is required for heating the interior and cooling the engine;
  • Depending on the design of the power plant, diesel fuel or gasoline.
  • Liquid intended for glass washers, poured into the rear and windshield washer reservoirs.
  • Brake fluid is poured into the clutch system, plus into the brake mechanism.

Regulations for changing oil in manual transmission

According to the recommendations of experienced car owners and specialists, the oil in the UAZ 469 manual transmission must be changed every 50-100 thousand km. Next, we will consider the most favorable conditions for which the specified regulation is suitable.

  • A mixed driving cycle is observed with the same mileage on the highway and in the city, without intense overloads and driving at maximum speeds
  • Towing of heavy trailers with a volume exceeding the permissible limit for the UAZ Hunter is excluded
  • Only original oil or its equivalent is poured into the gearbox.
  • The transmission operates without jerking or jerking, gears shift smoothly and effortlessly
  • There is no oil leakage from the seals. Their timely diagnosis is necessary to avoid not only oil leakage, but also the occurrence of corrosion processes inside the gearbox. The fact is that if the seals are not sealed properly, water can pass through them, for example, in rainy weather. The oil seals must be urgently replaced, then the box must be rinsed to remove any dirt deposits and new oil must be added.

Characteristics of the UAZ 469 transmission, chassis and control systems

Transmission

UAZ 469 is equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission with synchronizers in 3rd and 4th gears. The weight of the gearbox without lubrication is 33.5 kg. Oil volume – 1 l.

All filling capacities of the Patriot SUV

Everyone knows that filling tanks are units that require the presence of working fluid. By the way, the UAZ Patriot is equipped with two refueling tanks at once, and this allows the SUV to fill almost 2 times more fuel, almost up to 80 liters. Not all cars in this class can boast the same gas tank design.

The refueling volumes in the SUV we are considering are determined by the following parts and mechanisms:

  • Auto clutch system;
  • Transmission;
  • Power unit lubrication system;
  • Transfer case;
  • Gasoline tanks;
  • Power steering mechanism system;
  • Window washer pump reservoir;
  • Engine cooling system 409;
  • Brake system;
  • Carters of 2 bridges.

Patriot SUV refueling volumes

  • 5l. fluid is required to fill the windshield washer reservoir.
  • Fuel tanks: the tank on the right and the tank on the right have the same volume, equal to 36 liters, this is according to the manufacturer, however, as practice shows, a little more fuel can be filled into both tanks.
  • Shock absorbers only need to pour 0.32l. liquids, but you should remember about the devices used in the suspension design.
  • Engine lubrication is required in a volume of 7 liters, and for the UAZ Patriot 31631 model the volume of lubricant is 4.2 liters.
  • The brake mechanism needs 0.6l. working fluid.
  • For a radiator with horizontal pipes, 14 liters will be required. liquids, and for heating the interior and cooling system of the power unit - 12 l.
  • The clutch drive needs 0.18l. liquids.
  • A manual transmission will require 2.5 liters.
  • For the steering mechanism we measure - 0.25l.
  • 0.8 l is poured into the transfer case.
  • Power steering consumes 1.1l. working fluid, for the UAZ Patriot 31631 model you will need 1.3 l.
  • As for the rear and front axles, their filling tanks require different amounts of fluid. The front axle requires 1.5 liters of oil, and the rear axle requires 1.4 liters of oil. As practice shows, it is necessary to fill slightly more than 1.4 liters into the rear axle housing. oil so that all the working elements inside are completely covered in lubricant.

Thanks everyone! I bought everything and will pour it)

You can find out all this by reading the UAZbuka or the instruction manual.

1. My UMZ-4218.00 engine has a volume of 2.9 liters, 84 liters. With. I fill up with 80 gasoline.

2. Engine - Lukoil mineral water all-season, transmission - Tad-17 (indicated what I fill myself).

Data from the instruction manual. Engine - 5.8l Gearbox - 1l. RK - 0.7 l Bridge (each) - 0.85 l, for military bridges (each) - 1 l.

I have 421,100 horses, it’s super, but I use 92 gasoline, and I don’t know exactly what the norm is or not, there’s almost no 80 in Moscow anymore

We don’t even know how it happened, but they began to trust us to modernize military bridges. A widely known pilot in our narrow circles, a repeated participant in the Russian Championship, asked to work with the soldiers on his TR-2. But warriors are not ordinary. Not only does it involve swapping, but there are also a bunch of non-standard solutions. Completely different axles (50 mm in diameter), mushrooms (42 mm in diameter), hubs and CV joints, plus pumping. Moreover, these bridges were originally from Barsov. But it needs to be converted to a military format, and with the installation of other disc brakes. The task is, of course, interesting. But due to its non-trivial nature, it is also complex. But what to do. It is difficult to refuse such a request. So “the eyes are afraid, but the hands do.”
