Do-it-yourself complete and partial oil change in automatic transmission Nissan Almera G15

The Nissan Almera G15 was equipped with a Renault DP2 automatic transmission. Compared to its first version for Renault Logan cars, it has undergone significant changes. This increased reliability, but was not without its drawbacks. Among them:

  • the box is sensitive to slipping and sudden changes in driving mode;
  • Warming up is required before driving, especially at negative ambient temperatures;
  • overheating negatively affects the key elements of the Almera G15 automatic transmission.

Timely oil changes minimize wear on structural elements.

Automatic transmission DP2

What is required to change the oil in a Nissan Almera automatic transmission?

To change the oil in a Nissan Almera automatic transmission, we need new gear oil. It is advisable to take the original NISSAN ATF MATIC-D in the amount of 4 liters. You can search by article number KLE22-00004 or KE908-99931. If you don’t find the original, then take an analogue. But first check the possibility of its use.

New automatic transmission filter Can be found by article number: 31728-31X01. We take the original or a high-quality duplicate.

New automatic transmission gasket. Article: 31397-31X02. As with the filter, we take either a good duplicate or the original!

10″ key. A head, extension and wrench are best. The head is 13″ and the cap is the same size. 22″ key. Carburetor cleaner (you can use the simplest one). Clean napkin, rags. Flathead screwdriver. Knife for stripping old sealant. Measuring canister, funnel, waste container.

Necessary spare parts and consumables

To independently carry out a complete gear oil change in the Nissan Almera G15, you will need the following consumables:

  • metal-plastic oil filter;
  • valve body cover gasket;
  • filter together with a gasket under the valve body cover;
  • gasket for drain and filler plug.

All these components can be purchased either separately or as a set from Nissan.

In addition, you will need tools and some auxiliary components:

  • 10mm socket with ratchet and extension;
  • hex key 8;
  • tetrahedron 8x8 mm;
  • Torx 30 and 55;
  • rags;
  • funnel with filter mesh and hose;
  • five-liter measuring container.

Also, do not forget about protection for your eyes, hands, skin, and clothing - it is better to work in special glasses, gloves, and work clothes.

Drain plug

Progress on changing the oil in the Nissan Almera automatic transmission

Please note that the replacement must be performed on a warm engine. When working with oil, you must follow safety precautions, as you can get burns. If liquid gets into your eyes or skin, immediately rinse the affected areas with plenty of water.

1. So, we warmed up the engine to operating temperature and turned it off. Before starting work, the engine protection was first removed, which prevented access to the automatic transmission.

2. Find the drain plug:

. and unscrew it with a pre-prepared 22″ key. We keep a waste container nearby into which we drain the ATF.

Approximately 3-3.5 liters of oil should drain.

3. Screw the drain plug back into place. You can even tighten it completely, we won’t touch it anymore. If the drain plug washer is not in very good condition, it is better to replace it immediately. The asking price is 30 rubles, but this will save you from further problems such as oil leakage through the drain plug.

4. Using a 10″ wrench, unscrew the 21 bolts around the perimeter of the automatic transmission pan.

5. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry up the tray and move it to the side.

6. We see the “insides” of the automatic transmission and the oil filter, which we need to remove.

7. The most unfortunate thing, in my opinion, in dismantling the Nissan Almera automatic transmission filter is the location of the nut on top of the valve body. And in order to remove the filter of the machine, you need to remove the entire valve body. Yes, it sounds scary, but there is nothing complicated here. just loosen all the valve body mounting bolts:

And at the same time, if possible, unscrew all the bolts securing the box filter.

8. Disconnect the contact chip, as shown in the photo below.

9. Carefully remove the gear shift rod and completely unscrew all bolts securing the valve body and remove it.

10. This is the same nut that made it necessary to remove the entire valve body.

11. Remove the old filter and install a new one in its place.

12. Put the valve body with the new filter in place and tighten all the bolts. Since the bolts are different sizes, it is important to install each in its place. Therefore, when disassembling, try not to confuse them. Don't forget to connect the wire connector and install the shift rod correctly!

13. Clean the automatic transmission pan from dirt. Using a knife, remove the remnants of the old gasket. We also clean the magnets, where metal shavings usually accumulate. Don't forget to clean the box itself of any old sealant.

14. Reinstall the automatic transmission pan and gradually tighten all the bolts. In principle, all work under the car is completed. If there was a metal protection, then we install it in place and move into the engine compartment.

15. The next stage of changing the oil in a Nissan Almera automatic transmission is filling in new transmission oil. We will do this through the dipstick hole, but for convenience we will remove the air filter duct:

16. Take out the dipstick and insert a funnel into its hole.

17. Pour new oil into the box. You can safely fill in 3.5 - 4 liters of oil. Reinstall the dipstick.

18. We sit in the cabin and start the engine. Let it work a little and begin to move through the positions of the automatic transmission selector with a slight delay, while holding the brake pedal. Then let the engine warm up and turn it off.

19. Check the oil level in the automatic transmission. We take out the dipstick and look at the level.

In this case, it should be closer to the upper mark (the “HOT” mark, which means “hot”, since we have already warmed up the engine to operating temperature). If there is not enough oil, then add it; if there is a lot, then simply take a simple syringe and a dropper and pump out the required amount.

Which oil to choose for automatic transmission Almera G15

The working fluid for an automatic transmission of this brand must comply with the Dexron III standard. At the factory, the Almera JI 15 car is filled with Elf Renault matic D3 Syn - a synthetic gear oil that perfectly protects parts from corrosion, wear, and can withstand severe temperature drops down to -45 degrees. Since 2014, the original lubricant for this vehicle has been Nissan AT-Matic D.

The following have similar properties:

  • Mobile LT 71141;
  • Idemitsu ATF;
  • Castrol Transmax Dex III;
  • ATF Valvoline.

They can be used for self-replacement. For a complete change you will need an oil volume of 6 liters. For partial – 3-3.5 liters.

Changing the lubricant in a Nissan Almera gearbox

Any motorist driving an Almere G15 ever wonders: how to change the oil in the gearbox? Obviously, engine and transmission oil cannot last forever. Gradually, any lubricant loses its properties. It accumulates many harmful elements released during the operation of the car, such as metal shavings. You need to know how to change the oil in a Nissan Almera automatic transmission.

According to the automaker’s recommendations, the petroleum product in an automatic transmission must be changed every sixty thousand kilometers; in manual transmission - once every ninety thousand. Which oil fluid to choose? You can use ATF Nissan Matic Fluid D. You will need about ten liters of lubricant (if you plan to completely change the car oil).

Signs of unsuitable oil

Four main characteristics will tell you about the upcoming filling of a new transmission, which you can determine yourself using improvised means or a regular feeler gauge.

Color

. The oil uncharacteristically darkens, loses transparency, becomes discolored - depending on the manufacturer, shade changes occur in different deviations. A visual inspection allows you to conduct an initial analysis of the problem and diagnose the quality of the composition yourself.

Smell

. A recognizable and characteristic burning smell without an alternative reduces the period of scheduled maintenance. This indicates that the fluid has lost its functional qualities, and the automatic transmission itself is overheating.

Appearance

. If the composition is filled incorrectly, its level is exceeded, or two types that do not correspond to each other are mixed, the oil may begin to bubble and push a foam suspension to the surface. In this case, there is no question of the correct operation of the transmission.

Level

. Underfilling risks the entry of air into the composition, as a result of which various types of contacting elements of the box are deprived of lubricant, as the mixture dilutes and the pressure inside the system drops.

All these signs and manifestations indicate only one thing: the automatic transmission oil has exhausted its resource and continuing to operate the vehicle in this mode will lead to serious damage to the entire unit. When is a matter of luck.

Incomplete replacement of lubricant

To complete the procedure you will need the following:

  • pliers;
  • key “for nineteen”;
  • motor oil (five to six liters are enough for a partial shift);
  • rubber gloves;
  • rag;
  • funnel;
  • bucket for draining used lubricant.

In the Nissan Almera Classic gearbox, the oil change (partial) is carried out according to the following algorithm:

  1. Place the vehicle on a lift or a special ditch.
  2. Locate the drain hole on the transmission pan.

  3. Put on gloves, use a wrench to twist the plug a little, and unscrew it completely with your own hands. Don't forget to place a bucket under the hole to drain the old motor oil.
  4. When all the spent petroleum product has drained, measure its quantity. To do this, pour the old grease into plastic containers whose volume you know.
  5. Open the oil filler neck and remove the dipstick to measure the amount of oil in the gearbox. Insert a funnel into the hole and fill in fresh motor oil (in the volume that was drained).

  6. Put the dipstick back and start the engine. After five to seven minutes, switch all transmission modes, holding each of them for two to three seconds.
  7. Drive it for a short time to fully warm up the transmission. Next, placing the car on a horizontal surface, measure the volume of oil fluid with a dipstick.

Remember that by performing an incomplete oil change in a Nissan Almera Classic automatic transmission , you are only temporarily delaying the full shift. A large amount of used lubricant remains in the transmission torque converter. Sooner or later, you will still need a complete oil change in the automatic transmission.

Change of oil

The most common and quite important preventive action is the process of changing the oil in the gearbox. In most cases, the principle of carrying out such work is identical for many brands of cars. Although, we admit that sometimes we have to deal with some peculiarities. Based on this, we recommend that before studying the recommendations, make sure that they are intended for your car brand. We invite you to familiarize yourself now with the intricacies of changing the oil for such an excellent car as the Nissan Almera Classic.

Oil selection

Beginners are always interested in how often such a procedure should be carried out, so we draw your attention to the fact that the manufacturer has determined the period after which the gearbox needs to update the oil. More precisely, the manufacturer does not indicate the timing, but the mileage that your “iron horse” managed to overcome.

And it is right. Someone keeps the “horse” on a “leash” in the garage, making single short trips, while others do not part with it for a minute, leaving it alone only at night.

The manufacturer recommends changing the automatic transmission oil on a Nissan Almera Classic car after 60 thousand kilometers. If the car has a manual transmission, then this process can be postponed, since the manufacturer allows the transmission fluid to be replaced after 90 thousand kilometers.

Before carrying out the procedure, you must visit an auto store to purchase all the necessary materials. Not all car owners know which oil is suitable for the Nissan Almera Classic automatic transmission. We provide you with a ready answer to this question, based on the manufacturer’s instructions

It is important to use only original transmission fluid - ATF Matic Fluid D, number KE908-99931. In exceptional cases, when it is not possible to purchase original oil, you can buy an alternative option that will not cause harm to your car:

  • Valvoline MaxLife ATF;
  • Petro-Canada DuraDrive MV Sunthetic ATF.

Checking the oil level in the automatic transmission

You may be surprised to hear that someone is purchasing transmission fluid for a Nissan Almera that has not yet covered the specified mileage. Indeed, this happens when the volume of oil in the gearbox decreases. It is for this reason that experts recommend not to be lazy, but to independently assess the oil level in the Nissan Almera Classic automatic transmission from time to time.

We will tell you how to check. Find the special dipstick, remove it and wipe it thoroughly, then lower it back into place. After a few seconds, remove it again and carefully look where the oil traces are. If the oil trace is between the minimum and maximum, then everything is in order and you can continue to drive safely. If the oil trace has moved below the minimum line, urgently purchase transmission fluid and add such an amount so as not to exceed the permissible level.

What is required for replacement

To ensure that the process of draining old oil and adding new fluid is not accompanied by difficulties, it is important to prepare for it. In addition to studying the recommendations, you need to prepare the following tools:

  • wrench;
  • pliers;
  • gloves;
  • funnel;
  • container for draining waste;
  • new oil.

Complete lubricant change

A partial change of oil product makes it possible to drain only half of the entire lubricant. To carry out a complete replacement, it is necessary (after performing an incomplete shift) to do the following:

  1. Prepare another five liters of motor oil.
  2. Place the vehicle on a ditch/lift.
  3. Repeat draining the oil product. This way you will drain all the old grease that did not drain during an incomplete change. You will need to drain about four liters of oil. When fresh consumables begin to flow from the drain, close the hole.

    Removing the pallet

  4. Pour the same amount of consumables into the oil filler neck as you drained.

  5. Change gears, take the car for a ride. If necessary, top up.

When completely changing the transmission lubricant in a specialized service by pumping with a special apparatus, ten to twelve liters of petroleum product are consumed. Replacement, of course, is not free. It is also recommended to remove the transmission pan, under which the oil filter is located, and clean it thoroughly.

Complete change of working fluid

Incomplete replacement of the lubricant made it possible to change only half of its total volume. In order to replace all the lubricant in an automatic transmission with your own hands, you will need to perform a few more steps after partial replacement has been completed. You can watch the video again showing this procedure.

  1. It is necessary to prepare the same amount of transmission fluid as was used for partial replacement of the working fluid (from 4 to 6 liters).
  2. The Nissan Almera Classic is again placed on the inspection hole or driven onto an overpass.
  3. You need to put on gloves and follow step 2 of the previous subsection. Transmission fluid will flow out of the drain hole again, but it is the fluid that was not removed during the partial replacement.
  4. You will have to drain approximately 3 to 4 liters of fluid from the automatic transmission, after which new fluid will come in, which was filled during a partial replacement. If you look closely, you can see this by the color of the leaking lubricant.
  5. After this, the drain plug closes, a hole opens where the dipstick is inserted and exactly the same amount of oil is poured in as leaked. Before this, of course, you need to determine the volume of leaked liquid.
  6. Next, with the automatic transmission of the Nissan Classic, the same actions are performed: the speeds are switched sequentially with the engine turned on, the transmission is warmed up after a short break-in and the oil level is measured.

It should be noted that when completely replacing the lubricant in an automatic transmission at a service station by pumping it with special equipment, it takes from 10 to 12 liters of transmission fluid. The procedure, of course, costs money. Also, it would be a good idea to remove the pan in the box where the oil filter is located and clean it thoroughly.

Historical reference

Nissan Almera H14 was released twenty-six years ago. Today this car is a rarity. The company produced it for four years. In 1995, the Nissan Almera H15 was released. The car was completely updated, the body design changed. It was intended for sale in Europe.

For some period, this car was a three-/five-door hatchback. A four-door sedan was released in 1996. The following engines were installed in the car:

  • 1.4 l, 87 hp, petrol;
  • 1.6 l, 99 hp, petrol;
  • 2 l, 75 hp, diesel.

In 1998, the "H15" was cosmetically changed. In 2000 it was replaced by the Nissan Almera N16. The car was equipped with a different platform, engines (1.5/1.8 l - gasoline, 2.2 l - turbodiesel) and transmission. The transmission had five stages (manual) or four (automatic). The car was sold for six years.

Since 2006, “H16” produced in South Korea began to be sold in the Russian Federation. It was produced by Samsung together with Renault. The car was a modified version of the Renault-Samsung SM3. This five-door sedan was equipped with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with a power of 107 hp. There were 2 transmissions - a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic.

Currently, the fourth generation Nissan Almera Classic, which has been on sale for four years, is very popular in Russia. However, “N16” still does not lose its position. This is due to the excellent build quality and convenience of the machine. It copes well with Russian roads and has a very reasonable price.

By performing car maintenance in a timely manner, you guarantee that your iron friend will serve you for a long time. It is not necessary to contact a car service. You can do everything yourself. You only need to understand once how procedures are carried out related, for example, to filling in updated transmission lubricant.

Checking and replacing consumables in manual transmission

It is recommended to change the oil at 80–90 thousand kilometers or every 4th year. It is also sometimes necessary to monitor the lubricant level. Especially if you find signs of leakage.

To change the oil in a Nissan Almera manual transmission, you need to use a NISSAN 75 W-80 API GL-4+ transmission. It will take 3 liters to fill the entire volume of the box.

The DIY oil change operation is carried out with the following tools:

  1. Hexagons for 10 and 14.
  2. Any container of 3 liters or more.
  3. Syringe.
  4. Transmission NISSAN 75W-80 API GL-4+.
  5. Funnel.

And now the process itself. First of all, check the amount of liquid:

  1. Unscrew the filler plug in the gearbox. This plug is located on the crankcase cover in the direction of travel of the car. There should be lubricant along the edge of the hole, that is, you can easily reach the liquid with your finger.
  2. Take a 10mm hexagon and unscrew the filler bolt.
  3. Using a 14mm hex you need to unscrew the drain plug.
  4. It is advisable to warm up the car and then drain the lubricant.
  5. We pour in a new consumable, about 3 liters.

Changing the oil in a Nissan Almera Classic manual transmission will take approximately 40 minutes. Next you need to warm up the box. You will notice that the gears will shift better.

Replacements according to service life

It is beyond the scope of the maintenance regulations for the Nissan Almera G15 to replace the transmission oil for owners of this vehicle with a manual transmission. Since the manufacturer does not provide such a procedure, but only periodic level monitoring, but to extend the service life of the manual transmission , experts recommend changing it every 90 thousand km . And also the regulations do not provide for changing the oil in the power steering .

Changing the oil in the manual transmission . 2.8 liters required . The lubricant must comply with the SAE 75W-85W or 75W-90 standard; API -GL 4; TRANSELF TRJ 75W-80. According to the technical documentation, synthetic transmission oil “Transfer Fluid TF0870 75W” . The oil number for a manual transmission is Nissan 999MP-TF0870P, the price is 5,774 rubles for 0.946 liters. The service uses oil 75W-80 Nissan MT-XZ - KE916-99932R, price 450 rubles per 1 liter bottle. As a cheaper option, it is allowed to use a transmission that is poured into the box of Renault - ELF “TRANSELF NFJ 75W-80” , canister code 1 liter . 194757, price 420 rubles.

Changing power steering oil. You will need 1 liter . (including rinsing 1.5 liters ). From the assembly line at the AvtoVAZ plant, the Almera g15 uses Mobil ATF 52475 oil. If you follow Renault's , then you can use ELF elfmatic G3 , and according to Nissan standards, red PSF fluid Nissan Matic-D the power steering (article KE908-99931R) . There are no clear replacement dates, but most often the fluid in the Almera power steering is changed after 90 thousand km .

Refilling the car air conditioner. are also recommended to refill the refrigerant every 3 years The car air conditioner installed on Almera 3 (G15) uses HFC-134a (R134a) and Type S (SANDEN SP10). The amount of refrigerant is 474 ±20 grams , and the amount of oil is indicated on the plate on the compressor or on the inside of the hood.

Checking and replacing consumables in the Nissan Almera Classic automatic transmission

It is necessary to change the oil in the 2013–2014 Almera automatic transmission every 60,000 km.

Verification Process

  1. Find and take the dipstick.
  2. We clean it so as not to introduce dirt.
  3. In many cars, the oil level is checked on a warm box with the engine running. You need to drive 10–15 km in Drive, then stop on a flat road and set the selector to Parking. Let the engine idle for 2-3 minutes.
  4. We take out the meter and wipe it from oil traces.
  5. Insert the probe for 5 seconds and pull it out.
  6. Each meter has symbols for the required level. According to the standard, these are the designations “cold” and “hot” in English, which means testing methods. There are also certain marks for maximum and minimum.

List of works during maintenance 2 (for 30,000 km)

The maintenance schedule for Almera G15 every 30 thousand kilometers requires the mandatory implementation of basic procedures for changing engine oil and air filters, as well as several additional ones:

1. Replacement of spark plugs. K4M gasoline engines when using unleaded fuel, the corresponding spark plugs will be the original Nissan B2401-00Q0D, price 380 rub./piece. And in the original RENAULT , the same candles come under article number 7700500155 for 120 rubles/piece. But, in fact, in both cases the original box contains Denso K20PRU spark plugs, which cost 90 rubles apiece.

2. Replacement of brake fluid and in the clutch drive (for cars with manual transmission). Brake fluid is replaced every 2 years , starting from ( TO-2 ). Suitable brake fluid type DOT4 and specification FMVSS 116 . The volume of the system is slightly less than one liter, namely 0.7 liters, but taking into account pumping when replacing the old fluid, 1 liter of TJ will be needed. The cost for 1 liter of original brake fluid Nissan KE903-99932 is 660 rubles.

Brake fluid is very hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the air, so it must be regularly checked for water content and completely replaced if the maximum concentration threshold is exceeded.

Checks during maintenance 2 and all subsequent ones through one maintenance:

  1. Checking the condition of fuel pipes and hoses.
  2. Checking the tightness of the engine cooling system.
  3. Checking the oil level in the automatic transmission.
  4. Checking fuel injectors and throttle assembly.
  5. Checking the accessory drive belt.

Checking and replacing consumables in the automatic transmission Nissan Almera N16

According to the requirements for this car, the automatic transmission oil needs to be updated every 90,000 km. Although it is often recommended to change it on the Almera N16 a little earlier, at 80,000 km, and then every 60,000–70,000 km.

For replacement we use high-quality Nissan MT-XZ gl-4 SAE 75W-80 fluid. You can also choose an analogue - Elf Trans Elf NFP 75W-80. This product is great for front wheel drive vehicles.

We will need a syringe and oil for Nissan Almera N16 in the amount of 3 liters.

Process

Unscrew the fill plug. Checking the fluid level. Then unscrew the drain to speed up the drainage.

We wait until all the oil drains out. You need to tighten the drain plug and fill in new lubricant using a syringe. Fill until it runs out.

We tighten everything that we unscrewed.

List of works for a mileage of 120,000 km

Every 120 thousand kilometers it is necessary to repeat the maintenance regulations that need to be done during maintenance-4. And also such work as:

Replacing the fuel filter. The manufacturer provides for changing not the element itself, but the entire module assembly (which involves replacing the main, fine filter and mesh filter, coarse filter, which is on the fuel pump and the pump itself). The article number of the original fuel module for the car is 1704200Q0G, the price is 11,820 rubles.

Since not everyone can afford such a replacement, an alternative was found - using an analogue, and a separate filter element, since it can be removed separately. Masuma filter with similar parameters and dimensions , product code MFFN229, price - 1050 rubles.

for the mesh filter on the 3rd generation Almera But you can install an analogue. Usually they are from the same company Masuma , number - MPU-025, price - 218 rubles.

If low quality fuel is used during operation, it may become clogged more quickly. Therefore, it is better to replace such filters more often, at least every 90 thousand km

. Moreover, when it is possible to change only the main filter, while leaving the old module. The filter mesh can simply be washed with carburetor cleaner at each maintenance.

Checking and replacing lubricant

Manufacturers advise which oil to fill, and this is ATF Renaultmatic D3 Syn.

  1. Tetrahedron for 8.
  2. Funnel for convenient pouring of liquid.
  3. Half a liter of new oil.
  4. Container for draining.
  5. Jack or pit.

  1. We use a jack or a pit. We put the selector in P.
  2. You need to open the hood to get to the fill plug.
  3. Unscrew it and carefully pour in 0.5 liters of oil.
  4. Tighten the plug.
  5. Start the car, warm up the oil to 60 degrees.
  6. We don't stop the engine. Take a size 8 tetrahedron, a container, and crawl under the car.
  7. You need to unscrew the plug and place a container for draining. 100 ml should be drained, but if less, repeat this procedure. The liquid should have no burnt odor and be red in color.

Changing the oil in a Nissan Almera G15 automatic transmission is similar to working with a Nissan Almera N16 automatic transmission, since the units on these cars are exactly the same. There are only some differences in gear ratios and the number of friction discs in some packages.

Checking the level

The amount of transmission fluid in the Nissan Almera G15 is checked and set using a level flask, which is located next to the automatic transmission pan. The flask is a plastic tube with a control plug covering the drain hole. The hole in the cork is square for a key size of 8x8 mm.

To gain access to the drain plug, unscrew 6 bolts with a 10 mm socket and remove the bottom protection. The bolts are quite fragile and often break. Renault art. no. is suitable as a budget analogue of Nissan fasteners. 7707602011.

The liquid fill flask is located under the hood. To get to it, remove the air collector. To unscrew the filler plug you will need an 8x8 square or Torx 55, depending on the design.

Before checking the oil level, warm up the machine and place it on a horizontal platform. The ATF temperature should be 60℃ - check it using the scanner or be guided by turning on the cooling fan. Drive the car onto a lift or pit.

The algorithm for checking the lubricant level is as follows:

  1. Set the lever to “Parking” mode.
  2. Open the hood. Remove the air receiver. Unscrew the filler plug.
  3. Insert a funnel with a hose into the filler neck and pour in 0.5 liters of liquid.
  4. Start the engine. Move the selector through all modes so that the ATF warms up faster, bypassing the entire circulation circle. Leave the lever in the “P” position.
  5. Without turning off the engine, crawl to the bottom of the car with a key and a container to drain the dirty slurry.
  6. Remove the engine protection.
  7. Unscrew the drain plug and place the container. At first the oil flows out in a thin stream, and then in drops. Since the ATF is heated, wear gloves to avoid getting burned or dirty.
  8. Tighten the drain plug to 2.5 daNm with a new gasket. Turn off the engine. Check the quantity and quality of the drained fluid.
  9. Normally, 0.1 - 0.5 liters should drain. If the volume is less than 0.1 liters, stop the engine and add another 0.5 liters. Check the automatic transmission for possible leaks.
  10. Good ATF is red in color without a burning smell. Dark color indicates worn condition.
  11. After checking, the liquid is “returned” to the box through the filler hole.

If the level was abnormal, do another check after warming up the poured ATF.

Lack of lubrication in the Nissan Almera G15 automatic transmission leads to oil starvation of the mechanisms. Excess liquid is dangerous due to the appearance of foam and loss of working properties.

The quantity and quality of oil in the Nissan Almera G15 gearbox must be checked every time before and after replacing the automatic transmission fluid.

Reasons for decreased lubrication levels

Oil leakage may occur. This can only be determined by the oiling of the bottom of the box or the presence of oil drops under the car.

The most common reasons:

  1. Seals are worn out.
  2. Problems with the input shaft: a hole forms and fluid leaks out.
  3. The seals at the speedometer input are worn out. Oil marks will be visible on the sides of the gearbox.
  4. The drain nut is not tightened properly.
  5. The oil dipstick is not installed correctly.

Driving with a low oil level will certainly lead to failure of the gearbox. It is better to contact your service center for diagnosis and treatment of problems.

How to change the oil filter in a Nissan Almera yourself

Replacing the oil filter in a Nissan Almera with your own hands is quite easy. To do this, you just need to read the technical documentation for the car and a small set of tools. When carrying out this type of work, safety precautions should be observed:

  • carry out all technical work only in specially designated areas;
  • When replacing the oil filter, you should wear rubber gloves to avoid burning your hands with residual lubricant in the oil system;
  • Perform all technical work only with the engine turned off.

To change the oil filter you will need the following tools:

  • ratchet wrench with 14mm head;
  • wrench for removing the oil filter;
  • chain key;
  • brush;
  • a container for draining used lubricant with a volume of at least 5 liters;
  • rags;
  • new oil;
  • new oil filter;
  • new gasket for the oil filter seat.

The manufacturer recommends changing the oil filter along with replacing the engine lubricant. When replacing, be guided by intervals of 12,000 - 15,500 kilometers, or update consumables every year.

You should take into account the fact that when operating a car in difficult conditions, in very dusty areas, you will need to replace the oil filter much earlier. Practice shows that under difficult conditions of vehicle use, the oil filter is updated already after 5,500 - 6,000 kilometers. If it is not possible to change the oil filter at a given mileage mark, it is allowed to do so once every six months of vehicle operation.

After a trip, the lubricant mixture should be drained when the engine has cooled slightly. Although the manufacturer recommends draining the oil on a warm engine. Here it is worth considering what lubricant mixture the car owner uses in his engine.

If you use a high-viscosity lubricant mixture, it is worth warming up the engine properly. In cases where a lubricant mixture of normal viscosity is used, draining such a liquid should be carried out on a pre-cooled engine.

It is worth using the same oil whenever possible. Otherwise, you will have to flush the oil system every time you replace the oil filter.

It should be taken into account that flushing the oil system should be done as follows:

  • First of all, the oil filter is unscrewed;
  • 2/3 of the additives are poured into it to clean the oil system;
  • the remainder of the additive is poured into the oil fill valve in the engine;
  • then the old filter is screwed into place;
  • then the engine is started and allowed to idle for about 20 minutes;
  • After this, the lubricant mixture is drained and the oil filter is replaced.

Step-by-step instructions for replacing the oil filter:

  1. The first step is to drive the car onto an overpass or inspection hole.
  2. Then turn off the engine and wait 10 minutes (when using high-viscosity lubricant, drain with a warm engine).
  3. Next, remove the oil drain valve plug.
  4. After this, it is worth draining the lubricant into a previously prepared container.
  5. Then you should clean the drain valve plug from the inside with a brush.
  6. After this, you should unscrew the oil filter (located on the right side of the cylinder block) with a special puller.
  7. After this, it is worth replacing the gasket on the oil filter seat.
  8. Then you need to take a new filter and fill it 2/3 with new lubricant, and then return it to its place.
  9. After this, you need to pour a new lubricant mixture into the oil system.
  10. Then tighten the oil filler plug.

After all the operations performed, you should start the engine and let it idle for 5 minutes. Then turn it off to check the tightness of the connection at the oil filter seat. If there are no leaks, then the work on updating the oil filter is considered completed.

The process of replacing the oil filter on models such as the Nissan Almera Classic, Almera g15 differs only in that on the 15th model the oil filter is replaced at mileage marks of 35,000 - 50,000 kilometers. In this case, when replacing the oil filter, the engine oil is not changed.

Checking the oil level

It is necessary to check the oil level in the automatic transmission before and after replacement. A level that is too low indicates a malfunction in the gearbox, which must be detected and corrected before adding new oil. Excess fluid also negatively affects the operation of the gearbox and leads to the formation of foam.

A plastic tube, a flask, located near the automatic transmission pan allows you to control the level. It is based on this that the required level is set.

Measuring the level should begin by placing the car in a strictly horizontal position. It is better to put it on a lift or in a pit. Then remove the underbody protection, secured with six bolts, and dismantle the air collector. Warm up the car to 60 degrees Celsius. You can determine the right moment by the fan turning on.

  1. Put the car in “parking” mode (P).
  2. Open the hood. Disconnect the air receiver and unscrew the fill plug.
  3. Fill

500 ml of oil into the gearbox using a funnel and extension hose.

  • Start the car. And move the transmission selector sequentially through all positions to warm up the oil faster. Then leave it in position R again.
  • Without stopping the engine, remove the crankcase protection.
  • Place a container for working fluid under the drain hole. Unscrew the plug and drain the oil. Don't forget to protect your hands and eyes! The oil is hot, it flows out first in a stream, then drips.
  • When the liquid has drained, put the plug in place with a new sealing gasket.
  • Turn off the engine and evaluate the quality and quantity of the drained fluid. The normal volume is from 100 to 500 ml. A smaller number may indicate a leak. Externally, the oil should be red, without the smell of burning, sediment, or soot.
  • After the measurement procedure, pour the oil back into the box.
  • If a smaller volume than necessary has been drained, the measurement procedure (along with warming up) should be repeated.
