Modifications of mounting blocks and fuses of the VAZ 2112 have changed more than once during the production of the model. Radical innovations were introduced only in 2002 after the appearance of a 16-valve injector.
In 2006, there was only one unit in the cabin, and in 2007 a console unit was added to it. This happened thanks to changes in the shield and gearbox, and the addition of a Europanel. The cover of the main unit became hinged, which simplified access to the fusible elements. Separate inserts outside the mounting blocks, for example, under the brake pad, have been preserved.

The part looks like a small square box with four connectors. It consists of an armature in a housing containing an electromagnet with a winding. Its operation is ensured by electrical contacts and return springs.
The electromagnet is represented by two independent coils with holding and retracting independent parts. The first of the devices is docked with the housing and connected to the control input. The retractor coil goes to the control terminal and communicates with the starter motor.
Inspection of cigarette lighter wiring
If after replacement the protective element burns out again, you should look for the cause elsewhere.
It lies not in the VAZ cigarette lighter fuse, but in faulty wiring. If the car is old or due to improper manipulation of the electrical system, the wires may shorten and burn out, or an open circuit may occur in the circuit itself, causing the cigarette lighter fuse to trip. The car window fuse is just one of a whole list of elements that are somehow involved in raising and lowering the window. In fact, the most basic component, without which the glass would not move, is an electric motor equipped with a relay. Depending on the direction in which electric current is passed through the motor, the glass can rise or fall.
Direct control of the power windows is carried out through a button that can be pressed in one of two positions. Accordingly, depending on which direction the pressure is applied, the glass can move in one of two possible directions, opening fully or partially.
However, like any other electrical circuit, power window wiring and, as a result, all elements present in it can be subject to voltage surges or current, the value of which exceeds the maximum operating threshold of the devices. In order to protect equipment sensitive to voltage surges from failure, a fusible element is built into the power window circuit.
The operating principle of such a fuse is quite simple. A thin thread of conductor is built into its body, which connects opposite contacts to each other. The thread parameters are selected in such a way that when a current exceeding the threshold is supplied, the thread heats up and melts due to its high resistance, due to which the current stops connecting the contacts together.
If this happens, the element must be replaced immediately. The fuse itself costs a penny, but all the equipment, including the motor and relay, retains its functionality and does not fail for quite a long time, if, of course, the current threshold of the fuse element is selected correctly.
How to remove
In order to remove the VAZ-2112 starter relay, you need to disassemble the entire system. Therefore, this mechanism is removed along with the starter. On the other hand, this is even better, because at the same time as repairs, you can prevent starter breakdowns. To remove the starter, you need to drive onto an overpass or inspection hole. Further removal of the part is carried out in this order:
- Disconnect the battery, thereby de-energizing the vehicle.
- Remove the mudguard or other protection
- Find the nut at the bottom of the starter and unscrew it
- Disconnect the terminal located on the solenoid relay
- Remove the top nut that holds the starter in place.
- Unscrew the tape with a flat-head screwdriver and remove the relay by pulling lightly on the housing.
If this block is removed with force, then you need to lift it a little to unhook it from the fasteners. You need to be careful not to lose the spring located inside the mechanism.
