Now we will show you how to remove the torpedo and replace it with a VAZ 2110, 2111, 2112. This work is done with your own hands without the use of special tools. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver, wrenches with a 10″ head and time to carry out the work.

The main reasons for replacing the front panel:

• Appearance - You want to replace your old, scratched or damaged panel with a new one.
• Sound insulation - for this you will have to remove the dashboard to carry out work on noise, sound, and vibration insulation of the cabin.
• Problem with air ducts.

We recommend disassembling the components with a partner, as well as marking or remembering the wire connections.

First of all, you need to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery, then remove the steering shaft casing, remove the steering wheel and the ignition switch. After this, we proceed to disassembling the torpedo.

Unscrew 2 screws on the right and 2 on the left on the central tunnel.

Where are the fuse boxes located?

Possible reasons why the Priora cigarette lighter does not work

Like all other electromechanical devices, the Priora's cigarette lighter may stop working. As a rule, this is caused by various defects in the device, failures in the vehicle's on-board circuit. Also, the most common cause of cigarette lighter failure is improper use by the owner. Therefore, the most common reasons include:

1. Lack of voltage on the contacts or their malfunction.
2. Various types of fuse defects (burnout, loss of integrity).
3. Malfunction of contacts in the connector.
4. Burnout of the spiral or backlight lamp.
5. Recession of ears.

Common faults

Like any other electromechanical device, the Priora cigarette lighter tends to break. Sometimes this can be caused by design defects, sometimes by malfunctions in the machine's on-board circuit, and sometimes by the fault of the user himself. Common cigarette lighter malfunctions include:

• sinking of those same bimetallic “ears”;
• burnout of the spiral;
• broken contact in the connector;
• fuse blown.

Malfunctions can also include the burnout of a backlight lamp, however, this is more related to a decrease in the level of comfort than to serious breakdowns. In addition, it does not in any way affect the operation of the device itself and can be easily eliminated by replacing the lamp.

The sinking of the lugs is characterized by the lack of fixation of the cartridge in the pressed position. It can be caused either by the low quality of the metal from which they are made, i.e. defect, or high intensity or long period of use of the cigarette lighter.

The problem is solved by bending the “ears” inward using a thin screwdriver, naturally after de-energizing the on-board circuit. If after a short period of use the problem occurs again, it is better to replace the cigarette lighter.

When the spiral burns out, the cartridge is fixed when pressed, but does not heat up. The fault is diagnosed by ringing it using a car tester. It is not recommended to restore the spiral, as this may lead to a decrease in its resistance, which will make unwanted adjustments to the operation of the on-board circuit. In this case, the cigarette lighter also needs to be replaced.

Contact failure can be easily determined by removing the tunnel lining and checking the condition of the connector. This malfunction is not critical and can be fixed independently in a few minutes.

But as for the fuse, it makes sense to consider this malfunction separately, since its malfunction is most often caused by the human factor.

Electromagnetic relay

An electromagnetic relay is a switching device designed to relieve contacts. The work is based on the law of electromagnetic induction.

In cars, relays are used to unload contacts on control buttons, so that they, in turn, do not melt or heat up when more current appears on them. The relay consists of moving and non-moving contacts, a DC coil, a return spring, a coil core and an armature.

When a current appears on the relay coil, a magnetic field is formed in it, which in turn begins to attract the armature to which the movable contacts of the relay are attached. As a result, the moving contacts close with the fixed ones and the electrical circuit is completed.

What devices can be connected to the cigarette lighter?

Knowing the current rating for which the Prior's cigarette lighter fuse is designed, you can calculate what power devices can be used. To do this, we multiply the current strength of 15 A by the rated voltage in the cigarette lighter - 12 V.
