Signs and causes of malfunction

Structurally, the temperature sensor consists of a sensitive element, which is located on the electric motor board, which turns on the controller fan. Checking settings

Before replacing, you need to check the settings in the interior heating and ventilation system. In 20% of cases, incorrect set parameters are the reason that the air conditioner in the car does not work well in the summer, and the stove does not work well in the winter.

To do this, you need to close the doors and windows in the car and set a certain temperature in the cabin, for example 25 degrees. Place a thermometer near the sensor. How to replace

For VAZ 2110, the element is mounted to the ceiling trim using four latches. Dismantling process step by step.

  2. Remove the wire block, disconnect the connector and check the integrity of the cables.
  3. Check the cleanliness of the board, remove dirt with a soft brush.

Zero resistance indicates that the element is not working. If the device shows a resistance of 0.2 Ohm, the sensor must be placed in the freezer for 5 minutes. Repeated measurement of the resistance on the working sensor will be in the range of 2–3 ohms, that is, it will increase at least 10 times.

Connecting the air temperature sensor

As for connecting the temperature sensor to the trip computer, everything is simple. We determine the device model and, in accordance with the connection diagram, connect the wire from the sensor to the required contact. For example, VAZs of the tenth family were equipped with two types of on-board computers MK-2112 and AMK-211001. The connection instructions say that the contact of the sensor we are interested in should be connected to contact C4 of the MK block, and the contact attached to C4 should be disconnected and isolated.

VDO instrument panels with two displays were installed mainly in luxury VAZ 2115. However, even the premium assembly did not include a temperature sensor that would transmit readings to the display window. You can correct the manufacturer’s greed by installing a temperature sensor and connecting it directly to the instrument panel itself. To do this, you need to connect the information wire of the temperature sensor to the red block of the X2 panel to socket No. 1. If a wire is already attached to this contact (in most cases this is the wire of the fuel level sensor in the tank), then they are combined.
