    The winner of the competition purchased his VAZ 2106 car in 1984 with a damaged torpedo, and therefore took his first step in this direction. The fact is that he cut off the plastic top and left only the metal fasteners, onto which he began to build a homemade panel later. Since then, the tuning of his VAZ 2106 has been gradual and has not stopped over the past 20 years. As Vladimir himself says, he collects and implements all the ideas that are in the air. However, some of them live on his favorite car for a week, while others remain on it forever. If you look closely at the photo, you might really be surprised at what you can turn an old VAZ-2106 from 1977 into!

    • From the outside, this car is not very different from its factory counterparts, but the tuned iron horse is immediately distinguished by its excellent paintwork.
    • His VAZ 2106 sits on fairly wide tires, and all sorts of little things are fitted to last.
    • What attracts primary attention is the non-standard ledge on the roof and the “UFO” antenna above it. It is interesting that such a protrusion is by no means a decorative find, but a hatch and air exhaust from the passenger compartment. By the way, ventilation is regulated using blinds. As for the unusually shaped antenna, it is designed to work inside a TV; and the other 2 are for telephone and radio.

    • And how pleasing to the eye are the 2 rear wings on the rear of the car! The owner installed one of them on the roof, and the other he made with his own hands, from the body parts of a VAZ 2106, placing it on the trunk lid.

In addition, on the driver’s side there is an instrument panel with additional indicators, an electronic octane corrector, etc. As expected, all illumination dims when the dimensions are working.
    • Serious musical accompaniment also takes place in this VAZ 2106. Here is the PIONEER KEH-P8600R with the PIONEER DEQ-7600 sound processor; 2 subwoofers under the front seats, 2 more in the rear parcel shelf and 1 in the back of the rear seat; an incredible number of speakers; as well as a DVD player, CD changer, switching unit, acoustic battery, 3 amplifiers and additional cooling fans in the trunk. The most important thing is that all this fits so compactly in the niche under the rear shelf that the rest of the part is absolutely free for its intended use.
    • To power the above listed electrical equipment, the car owner had to install, instead of a standard generator, a more powerful one producing 150 A, and 2 regulator relays for 14 and 19 V.

    • Finally, Vladimir’s car has a reinforced suspension, the piston group has been weighted, a lightweight flywheel has been installed and the carburetor has been replaced with a model from the VAZ 2108. What a miracle of technology, the VAZ 2106 from Vladimir Zudin from Sarov!

    Tuning the dashboard of the VAZ 2106

    The impressions of interior modernization will be incomplete if you leave the old dashboard and instruments themselves. First of all, it is necessary to tune the VAZ 2106 torpedo. This can be done in two ways:

Secondly, disc brakes do not require as much maintenance as drum brakes. Naturally, you will have to use a hydraulic handbrake.
