  3. The new filter is installed in place.

The tightening force for the filter housing is 37.48–87.47 N*m.

Finishing touch

Know that on a VAZ-2112, changing the oil does not end with one fill:

  1. 3.2 liters of new material is gradually poured through the neck;

First, open the hood, find the plug. It should be located almost in the center of the engine compartment. Now you need to remove it. What determines the price of coolness?

The price of an air conditioner depends largely on the car it is installed on, and there are good reasons for this. It is much more difficult to install a system on a car that had no air conditioning during design than on a car with ready-made seats and design data. Thus, installing the system on a VAZ 2110 will cost 16,000 rubles, plus equipment - 35,000 rubles. The prices are the same when installing air conditioning on a Priora. This is the case if they are equipped with a 16-valve engine without power steering. With an amplifier, installation will require an additional two thousand. Branded service stations will charge even more, citing “branded” components. Although their sources of supply are most likely the same.

We deliberately started talking about inexpensive cars, since cars that cost well over half a million have air conditioning as standard. How to install an air conditioner

Proper installation of an air conditioner is not only about connecting hoses and cables, but also mechanically installing all components. In order to integrate the device into the car systems correctly, the technician needs to know:

  • engine capacity;
  • year of manufacture of the car;
  • power steering;
  • number of valves;
  • sometimes - VIN code.

Without this data, he will not be able to accurately select components and guarantee correct operation of the device. In addition, with the purchase of an air conditioner, the owner bears a whole burden of worries about the condition of the air conditioning system. The device requires annual maintenance, refilling with refrigerant if necessary, constant checking of the integrity and tightness of all connections, and regular cleaning of the condenser. And this is also an additional expense.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to save money on installation here. The device is too complex to install with your own hands, and no one can guarantee the quality of the system during self-installation. Companies that do this provide a warranty on the device from one to three years, depending on the status of the company. So it’s better not to save money if cool and clean air inside the car is important in any heat.

Refueling

Refueling the air conditioner must be done using special equipment, and this should be done by a specialist. Refueling in a garage is possible, but not at all rational. To carry it out, you will need to purchase equipment and refrigerant (which is not so easy to obtain). One refill will require about 600 grams of R134A freon.

It contains fluorine, which is harmful to the body and must be handled with extreme caution. Taking into account all these points, the most rational option would be to take the car to a service center.

Here are the main stages of the refueling process:

  • creating a vacuum inside the air conditioning system. This is done in order to ensure its tightness;
  • special oil is pumped into the system to dilute freon;
  • freon is supplied to the circuits;
  • The system is again checked for leaks. If there are no leaks, the driver can only pay for the services of a specialist. They cost from 1500 rubles.

Car history

In 1983, the design of a sedan on the platform of the VAZ-2108 hatchback began. The project was named VAZ-2110. But it's interesting that the design team made too many changes that made the car more expensive. Because of this, in 1984, this project was separated from the project of a simple “transition” of the VAZ-2108 into a sedan (which later received the name VAZ-21099).

The first experimental version of the “ten” was released in July 1985. The management had plans to put the car into mass production since 1992, but the ensuing economic crisis had an impact. The debut versions of the “ten” were released in June 1995. AvtoVAZ was directly involved in production.

Serial production of the cars began in August 1996, and the new product could be purchased already in the same year. In addition, it was possible to install a hydraulic power steering wheel and electric windows on the Lada 2112. Body parts were made of galvanized metal, new body painting technology was used, and so on. Issue 2110 marked a new stage in the development of the Soviet automobile industry. The hero of our article, Lada 2112, appeared a little later, in 1999, almost immediately after the VAZ 2111 station wagon. Today we will get to know this domestic model better.

Some conclusions

All VAZ-2112 hatchback engines differ in characteristics, and the differences are significant. It seems that the best option would be a 16-valve 1.5-liter engine. But the 21124 (1.6) engine has its advantages:

  • Rated power is achieved at 5000 rpm rather than 5600;
  • A broken timing belt does not lead to bending of the valves and their replacement;
  • It is acceptable to use 92nd gasoline.

Any 21124 engine can be converted to Euro-4 or meets these standards immediately.

The appearance of the 1.5 liter engine inspires respect. But if you remember about bending the valves, the choice becomes difficult to make. A steel receiver and a beautiful schedule are not everything.

Various nuances

Motor 21124 is more modern than its brother. It has spark plugs with individual coils installed on it. Experienced craftsmen also know about the tuning possibilities specific to the 21120 engine (for example, installing a turbine). In defense of the latter, we can say the following: the service life of the two engines under consideration is approximately the same. After the first 120 thousand, the 20th engine deserves a rating of “4.5 out of 5”.

On the secondary market, VAZ-21120 and 21126 (Priora) engines are valued almost equally. But the VAZ-21124 unit is in short supply. Draw conclusions.
