How to setup

You can start the car not only from the key fob, but also autostart the Alligator alarm system based on temperature or timer.
Using this option allows the device to operate automatically when the specified parameters are met. Before setting up autostart on the Alligator alarm using the specified data, you must enter the programming mode using the key fob. To do this, do the following:

  • Take the key fob and hold the service button F for two seconds.
  • After the transition, the screen glows and a melodic signal from the key fob appears.

If you manage to start the engine, a running engine symbol is visible on the screen, and after 1.5 minutes the air conditioning/heating or other systems begin to operate.

By temperature

Setting up Alligator autostart based on temperature from the key fob requires several steps. The algorithm is like this:

Click on “*” and hold it for two seconds until a sound appears.

Release the key and click on the open lock symbol. Wait for the signal again.

Pay attention to the display. It should light up and a thermometer symbol will appear on the display.

The location depends on the signaling model.

  • Click on “*” once and look at the temperature parameter at the top right.
  • Click on the button and the key fob emits a short beep.

In this way, the Alligator is launched from the remote control. At the temperature set by the key fob, the system will have to start the engine. Note that to exit the mode you simply do not need to press any buttons.

By time

Now let's look at how to enable/program Alligator autostart from the key fob according to time. The action algorithm is as follows:

Press and hold "*" for two seconds. The key fob beeps and confirms entering the settings mode.

Click the button with the lock closed. A clock symbol appears on the screen, the turn signals flash once, and one beep sounds for the same amount of time.

Press “*” as many times as necessary to set the time. Each press produces a beep.

To exit programming mode, do not take any steps for 15 seconds.

User manual

It is not difficult to understand how to set up autostart on an Alligator alarm system, since the kit includes detailed instructions for use. Devices that support autorun have two communicators:

  • The first one has 5 buttons and a screen.
  • The second one has 4 buttons.

The main closed-loop instrument supports manual programming and displays all relevant alerts on a small screen. The second key fob is intended to control the system according to specified algorithms.

To remotely start a car using a key fob, you need to correctly set all the settings and make sure that the set values are correct.

System programming is performed according to the following instructions:

  1. To open the settings mode, you should hold the “Valet” button for a few seconds (for some models this button is designated by the letter F). After this, the screen should light up and a melodic signal should appear.
  2. Next, the monitor will show an indication of the running engine and icons of an hourglass and smoke from the muffler.
  3. After 1.5 minutes, all operating mechanisms will start, including the air conditioning system, heating, etc.
  4. After completing the settings, the key fob will emit a sound alert.

Setting up key fobs

To set up auto start on the alarm and start the car using the remote control, you need to study the user manual and then insert charged batteries into the key fob. On the back of the case, remove the cover and place the battery in the compartment.

Meaning of buttons and symbols

The meaning of buttons and indications on Alligator alarms is determined by the model and characteristics of the system. In most cases, detailed information about such symbols is indicated in the instructions for use.

Key fob programming

The use of “signals” begins with preliminary programming of the key fob. A similar action is performed according to the following instructions:

  1. First, you need to deactivate the security functions and start entering authorization data or the factory PIN code. If there is an “Anti-hijack” option, you will need to disable it by entering a personal password. Then the code value is specified again to activate the binding.
  2. After successful identification, the ignition circuit will start. Within a few seconds you need to press the “Valet” service button.
  3. After another 15 seconds, you need to hold this button until 2 alerts sound or the light blinks twice. During this time, press the button with the “lock” indicator. If the procedure is completed successfully, the siren will make one sound.
  4. After this, you need to release the “Valet” button and turn off the ignition circuit in order to exit the settings mode.

Arming

To set an Alligator alarm system that has warm-up and remote start installed, you must follow the following guide:

  1. Turn off the ignition, get out of the car and close the doors. You also need to close the trunk compartment and hood.
  2. On the communicator you need to press the button indicating a locked lock.
  3. Then all that remains is to wait for one sound signal to play and the turning lights to blink, which will indicate the successful activation of the electrical circuit and the closing of the locks. When the Comfort function is activated, the windows will roll up and the LEDs will begin to flicker.

Engine lock

The operating instructions for the Alligator alarms mention the presence of an engine blocking function 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off. To activate it you need to do the following:

  1. The ignition is deactivated by turning the key.
  2. Then the driver gets out of the car and waits until the LED indicator starts flashing.
  3. 30 seconds after, the turn signals will blink once, which will confirm the activation of the engine blocking system. The system will not turn on until the door or hood is opened. It will also not respond to any blows or attempts to steal a vehicle.

If the ignition is not switched off during activation, the warning system will emit several warning tones. Within 10 seconds, the car owner can deactivate the security functions using the key fob by pressing the button with the open lock symbol. If there is no positive result, a 30-second protective mode will be activated and the turn signals will begin to flicker.

To disable the option that triggers the alarm, you must perform the following manipulations:

  1. The alarm system must be set to operating mode using a communicator. If you do this, one sound alert will sound and the dimensions will blink once. Then the doors will close (after which the security mode will turn off). The correctness of the actions will be confirmed by the LEDs on the turning lights firing twice.
  2. If the key fob is damaged or lost, the system can be disabled using the service mode, which is launched using the corresponding button and entering the identification password.

Silent mode

If the silent function is activated in the alarm system, only light indicators, both external and internal, will notify of any actions. To activate the option, you need to do the following:

  1. Turn off the ignition in the car and go outside, closing all doors, hood and trunk.
  2. Hold down the key with the snowflake icon and the inscription AUX.
  3. Press the button with the locked padlock symbol for 4 seconds.
  4. Wait for one light signal and the blinking of the turn signals, which will indicate the activation of the “silent” mode. Then the electric engine blocking circuit will turn on and the locks will close.
  5. To deactivate the function, you need to disarm the car.

Checking 2-way communication

To check the functionality of the feedback option, you need to press the buttons with indications of a lock and a snowflake. If everything is in order, after a couple of seconds you will hear 2 beeps or a vibrating beep.

A 2-way communication indication will appear on the screen, which will be an antenna icon.

If there is no connection with the key fob, the indication will disappear.

How the engine autostart function works

Backup engine starting system
The autostart function can be used in any car, regardless of the type of engine (petrol, diesel) and type of gearbox (manual, automatic, variator).

There are two options for autostarting the engine:

  • manually remotely,
  • automatically.

In the first case, to automatically start, you just need to press the button on the key fob. You can also do this from your smartphone

It is important to remember that remote launch is limited to a distance of 300-350 meters

Automatic start is used when the machine is far enough away.

It can also be configured so that the system turns on without the driver’s participation at certain intervals, or according to the air temperature in the cabin. After receiving the signal, the starter starts. The car blinks the turn signals, and the key fob receives a notification about a successful start.

If the engine fails to start the first time, the system will make several more attempts, each time the starter will spin longer.

How to enable auto start on an Alligator alarm?

Alarm models with auto start have two key fobs: one with 5 buttons and a display, and the second is a simple 4-button. The main key fob has the option to enter the programming settings mode, as well as a two-way communication module.

Images are displayed on the display after commands are executed and are confirmed by sound signals or vibration.

The second key fob can only control the system in an already specified algorithm. You can start the engine remotely from both remote controls, but first you need to make all the settings.

The auto-alarm function allows you to set the setting mode by temperature value, by time, and control the start and end time of warming up. Alligator alarm autostart programming instructions:

  1. To enter the setup mode, you need to press and hold the service button for two seconds (in some models this is the F button). The screen should light up and a melodic signal from the key fob will sound.
  2. A running engine symbol will appear on the screen.
  3. After starting the engine, two icons will appear on the display: an hourglass and smoke from the muffler.
  4. After a minute and a half, all main devices will begin to operate: air conditioning, heating, etc.
  5. When programming is complete, the key fob will emit a beep.

By time

  • Press and hold the “snowflake” button for 2 seconds. The key fob will beep, confirming entry into the autorun settings.
  • Press the “closed lock” button, a clock image will appear on the display, the turning lights will blink 1 time and the key fob will beep 1 time.
  • To set the time value (after how many hours the autostart will occur), the “snowflake” button is pressed the appropriate number of times.
  • Each press of this button will be accompanied by 1 turn signal and 1 pager sound.
  • To exit the programming mode, simply do not press any buttons for 15 seconds.

Autostart based on temperature

  • Press the “snowflake” button and hold it for 2 seconds until a sound signal appears.
  • Release the button, press “open lock”, another signal will sound.
  • The display lights up and a thermometer icon appears in the lower left corner.
  • Press the “snowflake” once, in the upper right corner we will see the temperature value.
  • Briefly press the same button again, the key fob will emit a short signal.
  • At this temperature value the engine will start. If you do not press any buttons, the programming mode will be exited automatically.

How to disable auto start on an Alligator alarm?

The autostart function is very popular among car owners, but sometimes situations arise when it needs to be disabled. Some drivers believe that the autostart option reduces the vehicle's capabilities and impairs its protection against theft.

  1. You must take and carefully study the instructions. There are various options for connecting autostart, but there are general principles for any model.
  2. In some alarm systems, the function of disabling autostart is provided by the program. In this case, you need to set it to the off position.
  3. If this function is not available, you can try setting the stop time to the same time as the engine start time (or one minute later).
  4. If the alarm and auto start require the installation of an immobilizer, it is enough not to keep the key fob near the car. Try putting it in a metal box away from the car during autostart.
  5. If these options do not help, you need to contact a specialist service center to reprogram the system.

Malfunctions and their elimination

The anti-theft alarm kit is a high-tech electronic device. Despite its reliability, individual components periodically fail. If it is not possible to seek the help of certified specialists in this field, the user can try to solve an unexpected problem on his own.

Why doesn't it turn off?

If the alarm is not disarmed, first of all, you must try to reset the alarm using the Valet emergency button. To reset the settings, you need to enter a unique password that the car owner must know. At the beginning and at the end of entering the code, as a rule, the ignition is switched on and off for a short time.

The problem may be with the communicator. The most common causes of its occurrence:

  • insufficient battery charge;
  • problems in the key fob chip;
  • high background radio interference.

Radio interference at a similar frequency can suppress the security system signal. Typically, the source of high radio noise is power lines or the same signal signals of neighboring cars. You can try to bring the communicator as close to the control unit as possible. Sometimes long and frequent pressing of the shutdown key helps. The weak signal is duplicated and amplified.

Key fob diagnostics

The driver carries the key fob with him at all times. At the same time, he is exposed to a number of unfavorable factors. Dust, dirt and moisture gradually penetrate into the communicator body, damaging the microcircuit tracks. They become dirty or cracked. You should disassemble the communicator body and carefully inspect the device. The circuit needs to be cleaned and dried. Solder the tracks, having previously “ringed” the tracks for integrity. For this purpose, you can use a regular household tester (multimeter).

The same tester can measure the battery charge level. If it is below normal, this may be the cause of the malfunction. A dead battery must be replaced with a new one.

Doesn't close the door

If the security mode is activated and the remote control signals this, but the doors are not locked, it means that the central locking is faulty. In this case, you will not hear the characteristic click of the doors locking. First of all, you need to check the fuse responsible for the lock circuit. Perhaps it burned out or broke in the cold. The locking drive solenoids could be broken. You should also check the functionality of the limit switches that signal open doors.

In addition to the above, the cause of the breakdown may be a break in the cables of the power supply circuit of the lock drive. Sections of the circuit must be tested with a tester. You should also check the connectors.

Doesn't work when the door is open

If the alarm does not respond to the opening of the doors, you need to check whether the interior lamps come on and whether the corresponding signal about the doors not being tightly closed turns on on the dashboard. If the light does not light up, the reason most likely lies in the limit switches and connecting connectors. To eliminate a permanent problem, the limit switches and connectors need to be disassembled, cleaned with fine sandpaper, wiped and dried.

The alarm behaves unpredictably

The unpredictable behavior of any system is the most difficult fault to diagnose. The most common reasons why the security system periodically fails:

  1. Low battery charge.
  2. Oxidation of limit switch contacts and connectors.
  3. Malfunction of the communicator circuit or control unit.

The first two points can be corrected on your own. If electronics break down, you must contact specialized centers.

Alarm works but no confirmation

If commands to set security modes are executed. but there is no sound or light confirmation, then first of all, you should check the functionality of the siren and lights. To do this, they are disconnected from the signaling system and connected directly to the battery. If this and subsequent checking of the limit switches and connectors did not solve the problem, it obviously lies in a processor failure. It should be sent for diagnostics and then repaired or replaced.

Disabling the Alligator alarm

Before turning off the alarm in an emergency, you need to find out where the Valet service key is located. If the complex was installed independently, the car owner should know where the button is located.

Where is the service button?

Jack button behind the console

If the installation was carried out by specialists, you should look for the key in the following places:

  • in the area of the driver's pedals;
  • in the place where the block with safety devices is installed, if it is located in the passenger compartment (the button is not installed in the engine compartment);
  • in the free space behind the glove box;
  • under the surface of the center console, behind the radio or ashtray;
  • under the steering column, disguised in one of the bundles with standard wiring.

Step-by-step instruction

For alarm models Alligator L430, L530, and L730, deactivation without a password is performed as follows:

  1. Using the key, open the car door locks. Alarm sirens will sound.
  2. Insert the key into the lock and turn it to the ACC position to turn on the ignition.
  3. Press the service button within fifteen seconds after turning on the ignition.
  4. Start the car engine.

If a password is used to disable it, the action algorithm will be as follows (suitable for M425 models):

  1. Open the car door locks with the key.
  2. Place the key in the lock and turn it to the ACC position.
  3. Within fifteen seconds after this action, press the emergency button several times. The number of presses depends on the first digit of the password. If code 9 is used, the key is clicked nine times.
  4. Wait a few seconds.
  5. Turn the key in the lock to start the engine.

If the password was entered incorrectly three times during an emergency shutdown of the alarm, the anti-theft complex will be temporarily blocked.

Lexin spoke about the service disabling of car anti-theft systems.

For models M725, M700, M2000, S400 and others, service shutdown is performed as follows:

  1. The door locks are opened with a key. The siren of the anti-theft complex will start playing alarm signals. The turn signals in the car will blink, as well as the interior lighting if this option is enabled.
  2. Insert the key into the lock and turn it to activate the ignition.
  3. Within fifteen seconds after the last manipulation, click on the Jack key. The alarms will be deactivated. The complex's LED indicator will stop blinking. The power unit of the car starts.

If the coded system deactivation mode is activated in the alarm, it is possible to use a personal password to control functions and disable them. Depending on the model, the procedure for assigning a code will be different. Any combination between 1 and 99 can be used as a password.

To disable the operation of the above alarm models using a password, follow these steps:

  1. The car door locks are opened with a key.
  2. The alarm will start working, alarm signals and lights will be activated.
  3. The key is installed in the lock and moved to the ACC position. After turning on the ignition, it turns off immediately.
  4. Within fifteen seconds after the last action, click on the service button several times, depending on the first digit of the code. If it is 8, then the key is pressed eight times. After entering the first digit, turn the ignition on and off again. If the password includes only one digit, then you do not need to re-activate and turn off the ignition.
  5. Then, in fifteen seconds, you need to have time to enter the second digit of the password; the procedure is performed in the same way.
  6. If the password was entered correctly, the alarm signals will stop playing, and the car lights and interior lights will not blink. The system LED indicator will stop flashing and the protective mode will be disabled. The driver can start the power unit.

How to disable panic mode

Panic mode can be activated during the following alarm modes:

  • “Security activated”;
  • “Security is off”;
  • "Service Valet."

To activate the “Panic” state:

  • turn off the ignition;
  • keep both transmitter buttons with the images “Lock closed” and “Lock open” pressed simultaneously for 3 seconds;
  • The alarm siren will sound and both turn signals will flash.

To deactivate the “Panic” mode, perform the procedure in the following order:

  • -briefly click once on both buttons with the images “Lock closed” and “Lock open” synchronously;
  • -the siren and turn signals will turn off. The system will return to its original state.

Equipment

Any car alarm model includes two transmitter key fobs: a main one with five buttons with an LCD display and an additional simple 4-button one. The first one is designed to enter the programming setup mode in manual mode, and is equipped with a two-way communication module - command execution confirmation signals are displayed on its screen in the form of an indication of special characters and are accompanied by sound signals, melody or vibration. A simple transmitter with four buttons, which duplicate the functions of the main one with the exception of the service one, is intended only for controlling the system in a given algorithm.

Remote engine starting can be done from both transmitter key fobs; to do this, you need to press the buttons in a certain sequence. These combinations have their own variants for different types of alarms.

It is important to remember: starting the car and turning off the engine is always the same combination

TypeStart buttonAction
C-5*fix before starting 2-3 sec
SP-75RS*,*turn on 2 times within 3 seconds
S-975RS*turn on 2 times within 3 seconds
C-500*fix for 2 seconds
SP-55RS*,*turn on 2 times within 3 seconds
TD-350*fix for 2 seconds

If the start does not take place from the first command, the starter will be turned off automatically for a few seconds, followed by an attempt to start. The system will cancel the engine start only after the third time. The corresponding indication with the specified melody or vibration should appear on the display of the main key fob, the car siren will give one short signal, and the turn indicators will turn on twice.

Safety rules for remote or automatic engine starting:

  • The car must be parked in an open space - starting in a garage or underground parking is not allowed;
  • Always keep the parking handbrake on;
  • On vehicles with a manual transmission, the gear indicator is fixed in the neutral position, and in an automatic transmission - in the “PARK” position;
  • There must be sufficient fuel in the fuel tank;
  • The auto start function must not be used when there is a passenger or animal in the cabin.

Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages of the Alligator S series car alarms:

  1. Availability of feedback. Thanks to this function, the car owner can assess and establish the status of the security system without being near the car.
  2. Great additional functionality. Auxiliary options will ensure maximum protection of the vehicle and its convenient use.
  3. Automatic engine start function. Will provide the opportunity to start driving in an already warmed-up car.
  4. Detailed setup and operation guide. With its help, even an inexperienced car enthusiast can independently set the necessary parameters for the alarm to work.

Modern Alligator security systems are complex electronic devices with two-way communication that provide a full range of anti-theft measures and the ability to control vehicle service functions from a distance. With their help, you can start the engine or turn off the car using the key fob, configure autostart at a given time and according to certain temperature indicators, while simultaneously monitoring the state of the security mode.

Setting up autorun

The Alligator autostart function allows you to independently set car engine start modes based on temperature, control warm-up time, set automatic start and stop hours in various combinations

You can configure autostart on the Alligator alarm system in programming mode:

  1. To enter the service mode, lock and hold the button on the main transmitter for 2 seconds (in models C-500, C-5, TD-350 this is service F ). The display will turn on and beep depending on the alarm type.
  2. To select automatic start by time, press - the “timer” symbol will appear on the display, the key fob will sound a sound signal. Set the required period of time (1-2-3...24) using the button (each time you turn it on, the key fob will give a signal and the car’s turn signals will work once).
  3. To select autostart based on temperature, press in service mode, the “temp” icon will work, the key fob will sound and the direction indicators on the car will sound. A digital value will appear on the display: select the desired temperature mode by pressing sequentially.
  4. Exit the autorun setup program: turn on and hold the button for 2 seconds. After exiting the service mode, the function symbols will be activated on the display of the main key fob.
  5. You can disable autorun by resetting all values in the menu.

Attention: work in the service mode for selecting autorun occurs within 15 seconds. If no action is taken during this time, the system automatically turns off.

Remote engine starting can be done from both transmitter key fobs; to do this, you need to press the buttons in a certain sequence. These combinations have their own variants for different types of alarms.

It is important to remember: starting the car and turning off the engine is always the same combination

  • The car must be parked in an open space - starting in a garage or underground parking is not allowed;
  • Always keep the parking handbrake on;
  • On vehicles with a manual transmission, the gear indicator is fixed in the neutral position, and in an automatic transmission - in the “PARK” position;
  • There must be sufficient fuel in the fuel tank;
  • The auto start function must not be used when there is a passenger or animal in the cabin.

How to program the key fob?

To set up key fobs, first of all, the car owner needs to program them correctly:

  1. The Vallet service button is activated with one click (the ignition must be turned off at the time of this procedure).
  2. After activation, the Vallet key will need to be clicked three more times in a row, after which the device will emit a characteristic signal.
  3. Immediately after the signal, the owner needs to press the keys on the key fob one by one, thereby synchronizing them with the device on the car.
  4. At the end of the procedure, the ignition must be turned on and then turned off again, and only then can the operation of the security system be checked in practice.

Matvey Efimov shows how you can register and reprogram the Alligator key fob.

Types of alarms

This anti-theft system comes in two types.

  1. The system for starting the power unit. The varieties of models that have this function are characterized by automatic engine start settings, which are described in detail in the user manual. The car enthusiast has the opportunity to use standard settings, or create individual ones, taking into account the difficulties of operating the car.
  2. Feedback system. These models are designed to provide full control of the vehicle when it is not in the driver's line of sight. Some models provide tracking functions via the GSM (satellite) system, which can be used to calculate the location of the car if it is stolen.

In order to find out the type of alligator anti-theft system, you need to carefully study the instructions, or look at the cryptograms glowing on the LCD screen of the key fob.

It is important to remember that some models combine feedback functions with the ability to autostart the power unit

Is it possible to disable autorun permanently?

Many people ask how to remove the autostart system on the Alligator alarm system for good. The automatic start function in the security system is built-in and can only be turned off with internal intervention. Alternatively, you can discard the engine starting circuits or disassemble the alarm chain that operates the starting function. But doing this yourself is not recommended. It is better to contact a service station and use the help of specialists.

If the security system and start-up require the installation of an immobilizer, simply do not keep the key fob near the car. Try to hide it during automatic start in a metal box and move it as far away from the car as possible.

Now you know how to remove auto start from the Alligator alarm, and whether it can be done. Before using the option, carefully read the instructions, because the manufacturer has provided an option to disable the option. In addition, in some models this feature is provided by the program.

In the comments, share in what ways you turn off the automatic start option on the security system, and what difficulties you encounter.

Autorun errors

The main reasons for the failure of the automatic start system, in which the Alligator does not work, may be incorrect settings and technical malfunctions of the car engine:

  • Automatic start by timer or temperature only works when the security mode is on;
  • The engine runs at high speeds (silence occurs, restarts are cancelled);
  • The oil pressure sensor and indicator do not work;
  • The car is not set to the handbrake;
  • There is no transmission "logical neutral" confirmation in automatic transmissions;
  • There is no engine speed data (the tachometer does not work);
  • The car doors or hood are open;
  • In diesel units there is no confirmation of the readiness system of the pre-launch mechanism (warming up of the mechanisms);
  • The specified time for the autorun program has expired.

For the correct operation of all settings, it is important to remember: if during a programmed start a command was given to stop the engine remotely, it will be turned off, but the device will repeat the start strictly according to the specified schedule. All program algorithms are saved when the security mode is disabled - the next time you arm it, autostart will work at the preset time until you reset the timers

During random engine shutdown, the system starts a new timing every 24 hours according to the factory settings.

Anti-HiJack Mode (AVRTM)

If the corresponding programmable function (function No. 1.10) is enabled, you can use the Anti-HiJack (AVRTM) mode (anti-robbery function). Enabling the Anti-HiJack (AVRTM) mode occurs as follows: - If you suspect the possibility of an attack or feel danger, you can activate the Anti-HiJack (AVRTM) function in advance by simultaneously pressing and holding the “Lock Closed” and “Lock Open” buttons » transmitter for 3 seconds with the ignition on. In this case, the siren will give 1 short confirmation signal and the system LED will flash and remain on for 5 seconds. — The transmitter speaker will emit 1 short beep and/or the built-in vibrator will turn on 1 time, and the “Gun” symbol will flash on the transmitter LCD display for 5 seconds. Once the AVRTM function has been activated, it will operate the first time the vehicle door is opened. If you are forced out of your vehicle, the Anti-HiJack (AVRTM) feature will work as soon as you open the door. Note: To protect yourself and your vehicle in a parking lot, activate the AVRTM function before leaving the vehicle. This will protect you even if your car keys and system transmitter key fob are taken from you after you have parked your car and armed the system. If you are attacked and your car keys and transmitter are taken away, the Anti-HiJack mode timer (AVRTM) will begin immediately after the system is disarmed and the ignition is turned on. It will no longer be possible to disable this mode using the system's transmitter keychain.

Anti-HiJack mode (AVRTM) activation: 1) After the ignition has been turned on for a total of 50 seconds after the Anti-HiJack function is turned on, the siren will turn on and short warning signals will sound for 7 seconds. The transmitter's speaker will sound alarms for 15 seconds and/or the built-in vibrator will turn on for 15 seconds. The turn signal symbols will flash on the transmitter's LCD display for 30 seconds. The Gun symbol will flash until the Anti-HiJack (AVR) mode is disabled. 2) After 7 seconds, the siren will start working continuously and the vehicle's direction indicators will flash. If the vehicle's ignition is turned off at this moment, the system will immediately turn on the engine blocking circuits. 3) Another 30 seconds after the siren turns on, the starter interlock circuits will turn on. The siren and turn signals will continue to operate and the engine will remain disabled until the vehicle's battery is completely discharged. Note: If the active and safe engine shutdown function is turned on in the Anti-HiJack mode (function No. 1.11) and the necessary connections are made, then in the 3rd stage of the Anti-HiJack mode the engine will be gradually forcibly turned off: within 30 seconds the vehicle's ignition circuit will periodically break for a split second, thereby causing the vehicle speed to decrease to a safe level, after which the ignition circuit and starter circuit of the vehicle will be blocked.

How to reboot and set up the alarm

The need to configure and reboot the alarm occurs if it starts to fail.

The best decision would be to carefully study the instructions for this equipment and strictly follow its recommendations. However, instructions may not be available. Resetting the settings can help in such trouble. This procedure for resetting the alarm key fob consists of several basic steps:

  1. The most important and first step is to turn off the engine.
  2. Find (if you didn’t ask in advance) a small button called Valet. When installing anti-theft equipment, they try to hide this button away from prying eyes. It is most likely to be found under the “dashboard” near the steering column.
  3. Press the service button 9 times, the siren will grunt briefly once, and the “dimensions” will blink twice.
  4. Turn on the ignition. At the same time, the headlights will light up and the siren will croak briefly 9 times. This means that the system has entered factory settings mode.
  5. Briefly press the Jack once. The siren will respond once with a loud short sound.
  6. On the remote control, click on the button with the speaker. A long sound from the remote control will indicate that the factory settings have been completely reset.
  7. Turn off the car's ignition or wait until the alarm exits the reset mode on its own. The side lights will beep briefly several times to confirm the completion of the procedure. The melody of the control panel will sound synchronously with them.

It must be borne in mind that incorrectly disabling the alligator alarm will lead to absolute blocking of the system. It is unlikely that you will be able to unlock it on your own and you will have to resort to the services of competent employees of special workshops. Therefore, you should not take risks, but immediately seek help from service centers.

Tamper resistance

There is one online resource where they offer to purchase a manufactured code grabber - a device that cracks alarm codes. This device looks like a key fob, but it fits most Alligator systems. The code of one-way key fobs, as well as the code of various pagers, is emulated. The exception, supposedly, will be one of them: we are talking about a key fob with a “diode” display (S-250/275).

Screenshot of one harmless site

Any car alarm that uses the keeloq code can be hacked. Let us clarify that this statement also applies to models with a “diode” display. It would be strange if something new was used in the S-275 or S-250 - both systems are budget. Draw your own conclusion.

Equipment setup

The installation is followed by step-by-step setup, because the Alligator alarm instructions from the key fob with four or two buttons contain the necessary tips. Insert the key into the ignition, press and hold the Valet button. After holding it for 3 seconds, the driver presses it 3 times until a sound signal appears. The final step is to quickly press each of the keys located on the remote control in turn. Further procedure:

  • turn off the engine;
  • disconnect both terminals from the battery;
  • turn off the interior lighting safety element to reduce the likelihood of accelerated battery discharge;
  • mount the system sensor near the controller using a 4-pin connector;
  • turn on the “programming” mode of the alarm control unit;
  • select the sensitivity level (from 0 to 10) - the average is 4-5.

Having chosen the sensitivity level, they slap the hood.

On a note!

The driver selects a value at which the car, on the one hand, does not react to vibration caused by a random passer-by, and, on the other hand, it will work if there is a break-in attempt. After installation is completed, fix the wires and control unit as indicated in the instructions.

The principle of operation of an alarm system with auto start

Automatic start of the Alligator alarm is a universal function that can be used on different vehicles with both gasoline and diesel engines, regardless of the type of gearbox.

Modern car alarms use two autostart methods:

  • Manual remote.
  • Auto.

The first option involves pressing the corresponding key on the communicator, in which the key fob is used. The range of the device is 300-350 m. Even the latest models support control using a mobile application.

The possibility of automatic entry is necessary in cases where the driver is far from his car. The function involves starting the engine without direct action by the car owner after a specified time interval, upon reaching the specified temperature and other parameters.

When the car owner gives a signal, the starter is turned on, and the car emits several warning lights with turn signals. The key fob displays an indication of a successful start.

If the power plant does not start the first time, the equipment will make a couple more attempts, forcing the starter to make more revolutions.

The Alligator alarm system contains several working parts that operate using advanced technologies. They are adapted to aggressive operating environments and are not afraid of exposure to the cold. To ensure maximum comfort of use, the manufacturer equips the alarm with an automatic heating function, which is triggered either through the key fob or after a specified time.

The basic kit with alarms contains the following components for installation:

  • Communicator (key fob).
  • Block.
  • Antenna with transmitter.
  • Immobilizer.

The system is installed on the dashboard, and sensors and wiring are connected in turn to each working element. The side of the windshield or the body can be used as a mounting location for the antenna.

The main advantages of the function include:

  1. Remote access to vehicle operating units and systems. Feedback support allows the car owner to remotely change basic functions without getting close to the car.
  2. Ability to monitor the status of security functions. Thanks to 2-channel communication, the driver can always assess whether the anti-theft system is working and which zones are working.
  3. Support for remote engine start, which is especially useful in the cold season, when there is a need to warm up the interior.

How to enable autorun

Autorun is configured according to the generally accepted instructions for Alligator models using the following methods:

In addition, the user can independently choose the warm-up time or specify the time interval after which the system will start working.

Before starting the system, you must ensure that the basic operating rules are followed:

  1. The car must be parked, but on the street, and not in a garage or underground.
  2. The parking brake must be engaged.
  3. On a car with a manual transmission, the shift lever is fixed in the neutral position. If the car is equipped with an automatic transmission - in the parking position.
  4. The fuel tank must be filled.
  5. You cannot activate remote start if there is a passenger or animal inside the car.

Autostart by time

To configure autorun by timer (time interval), you must perform the following steps:

  1. Hold down the snowflake button for 2 seconds. After this, a sound signal will sound, which will confirm successful entry into the settings menu.
  2. Hold the “locked” button until the clock appears on the screen and the turn signals flicker. They should blink once. There will also be 1 signal from the key fob.
  3. To change the values of the time interval after which the system will try to turn on autostart and start the engine, you need to press the button with the “snowflake” the required number of times. Each subsequent fact of pressing will be accompanied by 1 light and 1 sound notification.
  4. To exit settings mode, you must wait 15 seconds and do nothing.

Autostart based on temperature

Activating automatic start based on temperature is easy. To do this, you need to press the key with the snowflake symbol for 2 seconds until one sound alert sounds.

Next, you will need to release the key and hold the “open lock” - after this another sound will be heard, and a thermometer indication will appear on the system monitor. Then press the button again and the key fob will make a short sound.

To exit settings mode, you just need to do nothing.

There are no difficulties with activating autostart based on temperature.
