Brake system "Lada Kalina": diagram, mechanism and system design

About a year ago, brake fluid began to leak from the reservoir, after diagnostics at the station they found out that the main brake cylinder (GTC) was leaking, a factory VAZ Lada cylinder part in a blue box was bought for 1800 rubles and 600 rubles were paid for the work...

and everything would be fine... but... in a year

! in January I began to notice smudges in the area of the vacuum booster and the fluid again began to treacherously decrease... hopes were glimmering, but after removing the turbocharger on the rod and spring of the vacuum booster, I saw brake fluid

There’s nothing you can do, you need to change it, but I decided to change it on my own, especially since there’s nothing complicated about it. I didn’t buy a new GTZ, given the quality of the parts and their service life, and took a TRW from disassembly for 600 rubles. To remove the turbocharger, you need an extension cord with a 13mm socket (can be unscrewed with a simple wrench), a syringe with a hose or a bulb, a 13mm wrench, rags, electrical tape, and brake fluid.

We pump out the brake fluid from the reservoir, unscrew the two nuts to 13, then unscrew the two lines of the brake circuits (be careful, very soft metal, it is better to use a special wrench) and wrap their ends with electrical tape (by and large, you don’t have to do this...), remove the old GTZ .

Use rags to remove the brake fluid from the vacuum booster; you can also use a syringe with a tube. We put the working turbocharger in place, tighten the lines of the brake circuits, pour brake fluid into the reservoir to the maximum mark and now we need an assistant who will press the brake - press the brake 3-5 times, hold down the pedal, and when the pedal is pressed, turn the brake fitting lines on the GTZ on the lapel until there is a characteristic sound of air leaving the GTZ and brake fluid leaking, turn it in, and repeat this 3-4 more times, then on to another circuit. There is no need to bleed the entire brake system, we removed the air from the turbocharger, but it didn’t get into the circuits, since there was brake fluid in the lines... We save 500-1000 rubles on replacing the turbocharger and plus on bleeding. After such a replacement, there is absolutely no difference in the effectiveness of the braking system. Work for 15 minutes.

Well, I started working on the rear brakes, when braking there was a metallic grinding sound, as if metal was rubbing against metal, although visually the pads and drums were worn out, of course, but not critical, although one pad was worn out significantly, unlike the rest...

I bought red ones (which is important
