- Wipe the dipstick with a dry, clean cloth.
- Insert it back and after 10 - 15 seconds remove it again.
- The amount of oil on the dipstick should tend to about or be slightly higher.
- Screw the dipstick into place.
Topping up oil
Before starting the operation, be sure to check the level using a check plug or dipstick, and also remember what kind of oil is currently poured into the gearbox. Adding other oil is strictly prohibited, both in terms of viscosity and production. Strictly the same brand and the same viscosity. For topping up, an oil syringe or funnel is used, at the ends of which a flexible long hose is placed, and the connection point is firmly fixed with electrical tape. "VAZ-2110" has a somewhat non-standard arrangement of the box, this applies to both the injector and the carburetor. If the drain hole is located at the bottom of the box and access to it is easier from an inspection hole or a lift, then it will not be possible to simply get to the filler plug or neck. To replace you will need:

- hard thin wire;
- empty container with a volume of 4 - 5 liters;

Which oil is better to choose?
The factory instructions allow the use of oils that meet API standards - SG, SH, SJ. Depending on these parameters, the behavior of the oil in winter, at fairly low temperatures, differs. The lower the initial viscosity parameters, the lower the temperature the oil will withstand. For the winter, many owners of VAZ 2110 with an injector fill in standard 75W-90 oil.

- Physical properties. This category includes mechanical waste, or rather metal shavings, which are formed due to the loss of oil’s chemical properties. You need to unscrew the cap like this: make 1-2 turns with the key, then substitute the container. And then unscrew the plug by hand.

Let's say refueling goes through the switch hole. Place a hose in the hole and install a funnel. And we begin to fill in new oil.
Access to the control plug is blocked by the crankcase protection. If the plug was not unscrewed during preparation, measure exactly 2.2 liters. And if the control is carried out “according to regulations”, let the body be tilted to the right: place a suitable load in the passenger compartment or trunk. One of the common problems with VAZ cars is vibration and, as a result, rattling of the gearbox knob. There may be several reasons for this disease, and one of them is the location where the jet rod is attached to the gearbox. Let's look at how this connection can be modified.
So, the source of vibration of the gearshift knob is the reaction rod (2110-1703300), or rather the place where it is attached to the gearbox (eye 2110-1703183). The reason for the transmission of vibration by the jet thrust is that it is screwed to the box not through a rubber bushing (for example, like on the Moskvich 2141), but directly through a steel tip.
Therefore, all vibration from the gearbox is transmitted through the rod to the gearshift knob. Vibration also worsens gear shifting in an already imperfect gearbox. Simply put, there is a rubber damper in the eye, but due to the design of AvtoVAZ, it does not participate in vibration damping. The solution to the problem is simple: instead of a damper, you need to insert Volgov bushings into the eye (but any size rubber with a total length of 8 cm will do, for example this bushing). It is better not to install hard rubber, and in general, the less you clamp the bushing, the less vibration. We push the rubber bushing into the tip:

- Let it run for 5 minutes, then turn off the engine and drain the oil.
