Brief information about the car

The Lada X-Ray hatchback has been produced by AvtoVAZ since December 2015. The car is based on the Renault Sandero model, but has an original design and interior, upgraded suspension and steering. Chassis. AVTOVAZ and Alliance specialists have developed a new LADA XRAY chassis based on B0 platform components. At the same time, the rear suspension was modernized (the track was increased by 37 mm), and new spring and shock absorber settings were created. The new direction of AvtoVAZ affected not only the external design of cars, but also affected the interior of manufactured models, including the Lada XRay. The speedometer stands out prominently on the dashboard, in harmony with the dark glossy body made of plastic. The cabin can comfortably accommodate four passengers. The color scheme of the interior allows you to create an atmosphere of comfort and inspires confidence in the car. Leather seats with orange stitching complement the bronze and brown upholstery colors. The Lada X Ray White has a different color scheme in the interior. Of course, photographs will never convey the full range of emotions and sensations that arise inside the car. But if there is no opportunity or time to go to the dealer for an inspection and test drive of the Lada X-Ray, photographs can be a real salvation. Still, you can evaluate the interior of a hatchback based on them, but a personal inspection will only confirm or refute your expectations.

Front row

The hatchback dashboard is made in a smooth style, without sharp breaks or transitions. The center console is visually divided into two parts - the top contains the audio system control keys, and the bottom contains the climate control controls.

In front of the driver is a 3-spoke, sporty steering wheel, behind which a dashboard with spectacular wells is visible. However, a number of Lada X-Ray owners note that the readability of the instruments is not great, especially at night, and an optitron backlight would be very useful.

It is noteworthy that, unlike the concept, in which the interior was decorated with multi-colored plastic, in the case of the production car, the designers chose to abandon bright colors, opting for a plain black version.

As often happens, it was the dark tones of the finish that turned out to be the most advantageous and practical.

But at the same time, it was harmoniously diluted with the edging of the air deflectors, the top of the gearshift lever, and also inserts on the doors and transmission tunnel. The metallic shine of these elements gives the interior a touch of solidity and, at the same time, does not seem tacky.

Light inserts on the door cards and other panels of the X-Ray interior look harmonious and stylish.

Overall, the dashboard was a success - everything is convenient, everything is at hand. Visibility, thanks to large mirrors and the high location of the upper edge of the windshield, is also at the level. The only thing that spoils it a little is the wide front pillars, but other models also suffer from this now.

There are no problems with visibility at all, especially in top versions, where the driver is assisted by a rear view camera.

The front seats are well made and comfortable. The length of the pillow is optimal, as is the density of the seat and back padding. However, I would like more thorough lateral support, but for normal driving the available one is quite sufficient.

Despite the lack of lumbar support, the seats in the Lada X-Ray are very comfortable.

Rear sofa

The back row received no less attention. The 3-seater sofa is quite spacious, but only two people can travel there most comfortably. Despite the presence of 3 head restraints, the high transmission tunnel leaves no chance for a third adult rider. Maybe a teenager. Of course, our people are no strangers to crowding, but still... The color scheme is also very nice - the black color of the upholstery is harmoniously diluted with light inserts.

As for the headrests, these are not comfortable “clamshells”, but small bolsters. To prevent them from immediately digging into the passengers' shoulder blades, you will have to keep them constantly raised and sacrifice visibility in the interior mirror.

Power unit

The naturally-aspirated VAZ-21179 engine with a power of 122 horsepower and a volume of 1800 cubic centimeters is paired with a 5-speed robotic gearbox.

The base engine for the car has a power of 106 horsepower and a volume of 1600 cubic centimeters. This unit is well known to motorists. It is equipped with electronically controlled fuel injection and distributed fuel injection. Among the features of the engine, it is worth noting the unique intake system. At low speeds, air passes through a short channel, turning a lean mixture into a rich one. This function made it possible to increase engine power throughout the entire operating range.

Equipment

The price category of the car starts from 589 thousand rubles. ERA-GLONASS and standard “music” are included in the basic package. The “Comfort” version will add convenience; it will cost buyers 628,000 rubles. This package includes air conditioning and heated seats, and a nice plus is the presence of a cooled glove compartment. A crossover with top-end equipment will cost 668,000 rubles, which will have rear electric windows, a multimedia system with a 7-inch diagonal display, electric drive and heated mirrors.

In general, the Xray turned out to be a solid family car; of course, it is not suitable for off-road driving, but it will serve faithfully on picnic and fishing trips.
