Remove the belt from the pulleys, and then unscrew the generator housing locking bolt.
Unscrew the nut designed to secure the upper part of the device to the adapter bracket.
By analogy, the lower attachment point is unscrewed and the fixing bolt is removed from the hole.
Disconnect the bracket from the cylinder block (secured with 2 nuts) and dismantle the generator for repair or maintenance.

On cars with a 4CT90-1 diesel engine (Andoria), a single belt is used to drive the generator, rotating a fan pulley connected to the water pump rotor. Before dismantling the electric generator, you will need to remove the impeller, which prevents the removal of the belt and blocks access to the bolts.

Additionally, the air pipes are removed, blocking access to the generator. The generator housing is used to tension the belt, the adjusting bolt is located at the top, and an additional support is mounted at the bottom.

The problem with the UAZ 469 generator is low voltage. It is 13-13.2 V, but during consumer use the voltage drops to 12V, which is not at all good for car operation.

We completely disassemble the generator, take out a part from it called a diode bridge.

You need to ring it to understand whether the bridge is good or not.

To do this, connect the tester and turn it on to ringing mode. Our diode bridge has six diodes that ring in one direction.

When ringing, we get the resistance value. At the same time, the difference in this resistance between diodes should not differ by more than 5 Ohms, if more, it’s already bad.

A large difference in resistance will affect the passage of current through the diode bridge, so it is necessary to change it. When buying a new bridge, you need to ring it in the store and choose it according to resistance tolerances, otherwise problems with the operation of the generator will not disappear.

How to change the alternator belt correctly:

First of all, the connector with the DPKV is dismantled, after which the screw that secures this regulator is unscrewed and removed.
The nut that secures the device should be loosened slightly, but not completely unscrewed. The generator assembly can be moved towards the block, after which the strap on the displaced device can be removed without problems, since it will be loosened.
Using a jack, which must be installed in advance on the side where the unit is located, you need to slightly raise the car by turning on first gear.
Next, pull the strap itself so that it can move away from the pump shaft. Then spin the wheel until the tension point reaches the pulley.
The next step in replacing the alternator belt will be to remove the belt from the other shafts.

Replacing the power steering pump drive belt and the viscous clutch of the cooling system fan drive

You will need: keys “10” (two), “17”, “12”.

Loosen the two bolts securing the power steering pump holder to the bracket (Fig. 1).

Screw in the adjusting bolt for tensioning the power steering pump drive belt and the viscous clutch of the cooling system fan drive (Fig. 2).

Move the power steering pump to the right side (in the direction of vehicle travel).

Install the new belt in the reverse order of removal.

Remove the power steering pump and fan pulley drive belt from the crankshaft pulley.

Loosen the tension roller mounting bolt by two or three turns (Fig. 4).
