How to correctly reset the service interval on Skoda Rapid cars

According to the maintenance regulations, Skoda Rapid cars are operated at intervals of 1 year or 15 thousand kilometers. The maintenance interval must be reset at the same time as maintenance.

As you approach the service sign, an information message appears on the on-board computer display. The car's electronics remind the car owner that it is time to replace some consumables and check the condition of the car.

If you perform maintenance but do not reset the counter, the automatic reset will not occur. To do this, you will need to go into the menu yourself, follow the steps prescribed in the instructions, and again set the maintenance interval on the countdown of the next 15 thousand km.

Despite the release of a restyled version, the nuances of restoring the range on Skoda Rapid cars of the same model year 2014 and 2022 do not differ. Therefore, the instructions presented will be equally relevant for model samples of 2015, 2016, 2022 and even 2022.

In addition to the basic concept of maintenance intervals, there is also a technical inspection service. Resetting it to zero occurs in almost the same way as normal resetting. But there is one nuance that is important to remember.

The procedure for resetting the maintenance interval on Czech Skoda Rapid sedans and station wagons may differ slightly depending on the configuration. They share cars with a conventional on-board computer and a multifunction display on the dashboard.

Depending on this, appropriate instructions and different sequences of operations to reset the counter are applied.

Possible errors and problems

The recommendation is suitable for used Volkswagen Polo models, especially those imported from abroad or for those whose warranty period has expired. This error occurs due to a mismatch between the maintenance schedule and what is built into the computer.

If the sedan is new and under warranty, you cannot reset the counter. On the contrary, you need to contact the dealership and sign up for a scheduled service station. Otherwise, if the service book is not marked, the car will be void of warranty.

Skoda Rapid Severyanochka › Logbook › Resetting the oil change reminder / then UPDATED

Good afternoon. Last night the car gave a warning and 30 days later I changed the oil. I immediately went online to find a way to reset this reminder. But of all the options, not one helped. It was possible to reset the inspection service, for example it will arrive in 365 days or 15,000 km. But I still haven’t figured out how to get rid of the oil change notification. I spent the entire evening, but the proposed options (with and without an emergency lane) did not work out.

UPDATED Thanks to the post by oleg32-71, I was able to reset the oil change reminder.

INSTRUCTIONS Six months ago I did this on my car, I found a recording on the disk. Procedure: - insert the ignition key, - press the button on the dashboard - without releasing the button, turn the ignition key and release the button - the message “Reset service data” will appear - press the button on the dashboard - the data will be restored. Oil service is restored in the same way. A second after releasing the button with the panel already inserted, the message “Reset oil change” appears, and after another second, “Reset inspection service”. Pressing again resets the selection. The changes will take effect the next time you turn on. It turns out that the messages come one after another, and in a second you need to have time to click the desired message.

Skoda Rapid oil

the Skoda power plant directly depends on the correct choice of engine lubricant and compliance with the timing of its replacement. The oil serves to protect the contact area of the engine's rubbing components from excessive wear and scuffing.

In addition, lubrication reduces shock loads. vibration, noise and plays a major role in heat transfer. For these reasons, it is forbidden to be careless in choosing engine oil, as this may lead to early major repairs.

Replacement Regulations

In countries where LongLife maintenance periods are allowed, change is required every 30 thousand km. Due to the low quality of the fuel, the manufacturer does not advise Russian motorists to focus on this period. A replacement interval is set for them, which is every 15 thousand kilometers. Experienced owners advise reducing it to 8-10 thousand km. In addition, unscheduled replacement is needed in the following cases:

  • antifreeze started to boil;
  • water or other technical liquid has entered the engine lubricant;
  • in ignorance of when the last lubricant change was made and what consumables were used, for example, after purchasing the car.

Maintenance regulations or how is a car serviced?

The routine inspection procedure takes from 6 to 12 hours, depending on the workload of the official dealer’s booth in your region, and proceeds as follows:

  1. Body inspection: Visual inspection of the integrity of the paintwork and anti-corrosion coating of body elements, as well as the windshield and all glass. Then the hood lock is lubricated and replaced with a new cabin filter, after which the exhaust pipes and fuel system are checked. Finally, clean the drain holes and drain box;
  2. Diagnostics of the engine and transmission - replacing the oil and air filters and technical oil, then adding fuel additive G Next, replacing the spark plugs and refractor on the engine, after which the engine is checked for deformation and leaks. Also, on models with an automatic transmission, add new ATF fluid;
  3. Checking the carriage: This is where the ball joints and tie rod ends are checked for distortion, then the bearings are checked for play. Additional diagnostics of the brake system and brake pads for damage and corrosion, after filling the brake fluid to the mark and cleaning the brake drum linings from dirt. Upon completion of the truck diagnostics, the suspension system is checked for leaks and deformation;
  4. Gait analysis - measuring tire pressure and monitoring tread depth, after which the tire's expiration date is checked;
  5. Electrical equipment monitoring - monitoring the condition of external lighting devices, diagnostics of batteries and electrical equipment control levers. Subsequently, the light optics and sound signal are checked and calibrated. Finally, the interior lighting is checked and the check count sensor data is reset. The sensor of the Era-Glonass system is also monitored;
  6. Final work and control inspection: This stage includes a control train in the car, as well as filling out a service book and a technological inspection checklist.

Maintenance schedule for Skoda Rapid: when should I take the car for diagnostics?

A scheduled technical inspection allows you to obtain a comprehensive assessment of the condition of the vehicle, which guarantees timely diagnosis of components for wear and replacement of parts with new ones. The Skoda Rapid technical data sheet specifies the following service periods:

  • The first maintenance is carried out after 15,000 km;
  • The second maintenance must be done after 30,000 km;
  • Third maintenance – after 45,000.

At the fourth maintenance, the dealer’s warranty expires and diagnostics are performed purely at the request of the owner. It is also important to know that after reaching a mileage of 100,000 km, it is recommended to carry out a diagnostic inspection either every 10,000 km or after 2 years from the previous one. After a major overhaul of the engine and transfer case, maintenance is performed again according to the algorithm described above.

Note! The timing of a complete vehicle diagnostic is only the manufacturer’s recommendations, until which the vehicle is guaranteed to operate without breakdowns or the need for repairs.

An expired note on scheduled maintenance in the vehicle registration certificate can only deprive the right to free service under warranty within the first 45-60,000 km and does not in any way affect the price of the car in the secondary market or the cost of repairs from official dealers.

Reset on a regular on-board computer

First, let's talk about the nuances of resetting the service interval on a Skoda Rapid equipped with a conventional on-board computer. This is a fairly common configuration, since many Russians prefer the basic and medium version of the Skoda Rapid model.

And the multifunctional display of the on-board computer is already appearing in more expensive trim levels.

Maintenance information for Skoda Rapid

To reset the counter informing about the required service and remove the annoying notification on the on-board computer screen, you must follow the following sequence:

How much does maintenance cost for a Skoda Rapid?

The first service, according to the concern’s regulations, will cost 7,500 rubles, and the second will have to spend at least 10 thousand. The cost of subsequent maintenance will depend on the intensity of use and the degree of wear of the vehicle components - the main cost of the procedure is the purchase of original spare parts and consumables.

The manufacturer also offers drivers a package of additional services ŠKODA Service Plus, which includes monitoring and diagnostic capabilities. Thanks to this package, drivers are guaranteed more comfortable driving and an additional guarantee of safety.

If you are servicing your vehicle yourself or have purchased a vehicle that displays a servicing message on your instrument panel display, you will need the instructions below. How to reset the service interval on a Skoda Rapid yourself.

The choice of oil for filling into the Skoda Rapid engine and its cost

Depending on which power unit is equipped with the Skoda Rapid , the choice of engine oil that needs to be used during maintenance varies. VW long Life III 5W-30 oil from the factory and during maintenance

In a more powerful naturally aspirated engine with 105 hp. with a volume of 1.6 liters and a 75-horsepower 1.2 naturally aspirated engine should be filled with original VW Special Plus 5W-40 oil

The oil used in power plants must have VW 502.00 or VW 504 00 approvals. When serviced by an authorized dealer, VW 502.00 motor lubricant is poured into the engine. Oil with VW 504 00 approval is mainly used in vehicles serviced by LongLife service. Due to low-quality gasoline in domestic realities, the use of extended LongLife maintenance intervals is not provided for by the official manufacturer.

The Skoda Rapid uses a proprietary system for organizing and classifying motor lubricants from Volkswagen. It is not widely used among major oil manufacturers. For these reasons, it is difficult to find the required inscriptions VW 502.00 or VW 504 00 on many labels. If it is impossible to detect them, it is recommended to check for the presence of oil indexes ACEA, A2 or A3 on the canister. It is also necessary to check the viscosity. Its required value depends on the ambient temperature, time of year and wear of the engine. Approximate viscosities for the Skoda Rapid powerplant are shown in the diagram below.

In addition to the above criteria, you should pay attention to the manufacturer or brand of oil. The most effective lubricants in Skoda Rapid power units are shown in the table below.

How to reset service on Skoda Yeti

Drivers often have difficulties with this car. Reason: Yeti has different configurations and the range resets differently each time. Cars manufactured after 2013 have a clock button on the right and a reset button on the left. Below are detailed instructions for zeroing:

  • The service indicator should disappear. The ignition must be turned off and on again immediately.
  • Turn off the ignition.
  • If the message does not appear on the screen, you must press the button to set the clock.
  • you need to turn the ignition key and then release the switch.
  • Press and hold the service interval reset button for 5 seconds.
  • The program will ask if you need to clear the data. You need to turn the wheel to the right to the “Yes” sign and click on the center.
  • When it burns, the word “service oil” should disappear.”

Second method

There is another way to reduce the service interval.

In this case, you will need to carry out the following operations:

  • turn off the ignition on the crossover;
  • press the service reset button;
  • then start the ignition;
  • release the demand button;
  • briefly press the clock setting button and hold it for 20 seconds;
  • wait until the maintenance instruction goes out on the display;
  • turn off the ignition.

If, when resetting, the display returned to its basic information display configurations, you did everything correctly, and the reset on the Volkswagen Tiguan crossover was performed correctly.

How to correctly reset the service interval on Skoda Rapid cars

The Skoda Rapid model belongs to the subcompact class B according to the European classification. At one time, Rapid turned out to be a long-awaited new product from the Czech manufacturer. A high-quality car with German roots and an affordable price is quickly beginning to conquer the markets, starting with India.

The car is economical in price and has similar maintenance costs. As part of each scheduled maintenance, it is planned to carry out certain work to replace and diagnose the condition of the machine and its components.

After maintenance, car service technicians reset the maintenance interval. If you perform maintenance yourself, you will have to reset the meter yourself. It is not so difficult.

Normal oil consumption in the Skoda Rapid engine

The official manufacturer sets the oil consumption rate for the entire line of engines at 1 liter per 1000 km. Experienced car enthusiasts consider this consumption to be very high. A good situation is when adding lubricant is not required from replacement to replacement.

Acceptable oil consumption can be considered consumption of 100-200 grams of lubricant per 1000 km. If the engine consumes of oil per 1000 km, then this is a reason to pay attention to the power plant and eliminate excess consumption.

How to reset the service interval

The appearance of a warning about the need for maintenance is a common problem that almost all motorists face. In this case, the display may flicker or the device may make annoying beeping sounds. In service centers, when resetting, they make an entry in the service book and attach a sticker indicating the date of the next maintenance. Manufacturers do not recommend downloading data yourself, as the indicator settings may be lost. But more often than not, there are no malfunctions in the operation of automotive systems.

Typically the service notice appears after approximately 15,000 kilometers or 372 days. But most drivers perform maintenance much more often, approximately every 5-7 thousand kilometers. After changing the oil and filters yourself, the “Service” message is displayed. After all, the system cannot recognize that the fluid has already been replaced. You can cancel this membership yourself without overpaying at the service station. You can restore the registered information if the “Service” indicator lights up on the screen.

I might be wrong. at Off We press the ignition and keep the daily mileage. turn on the ignition but do not start it and press the buttons. turn on the ignition. Thanks papa1! It helped, everything worked out. First we hold down “0.0”, then ignition, then “folders”. But the video from YouTube is only for maxidot owners!

To reset the inspection service, do not forget to turn on the emergency lights, otherwise everything is similar to resetting the maintenance.
