Reasons why turn signals do not work on Lada Priora, Granta, Kalina

Hello. First, the left turn signal stuck (the entire left side), I turned it off by disconnecting the battery terminals. At the service station they did the alteration without removing the TsBKE, now the right side, all the turn signals and the emergency lights do not work. Is it possible to solve the issue without completely changing the CBKE?

It happens that some kind of breakdown occurs on the car, after which the turn signal constantly lights up. Priora is also not unfamiliar with this problem. The glow is constant, even when the alarm is turned on. In this case, the failed turn signal continues to light steadily, while the other lights blink synchronously.

Tips for motorists

When the driver of a Lada Priora passenger car finds himself in a situation with direction indicators that have refused to work, then in order to get to his home or place of repair, he will have to remember the Rules of the Road, which says how to duplicate the direction indicator signals using his left hand.

The simplest malfunction leading to the failure of the turn signals is the burnout of the filament in one of the lamps. In this case, the turn signal lamp installed on the instrument panel begins to blink at double frequency. In this situation, the driver needs to stop, get out of the car and determine where he will have to change the faulty turn signal lamp. When replacing a lamp, he must remember that it must be exactly the same power as the burnt one.

But other turn signal malfunctions are much more difficult for the driver to deal with, since their operation is controlled by the turn signal switch located inside the electrical package controller, and without knowledge of electrical engineering you are unlikely to be able to find a malfunction there. The only thing the driver himself can do is replace the faulty power package controller with a new one. To find it, you will need to remove the lining on both sides of the floor tunnel, but before you begin this work, disconnect the battery by removing the negative terminal.

The direction indicators may also fail to function due to failure of the steering switch. The most innocent malfunction under the steering switch is the inability to independently return it to the neutral position. In this case, the driver can continue to operate the Lada Priora car, although he will need to remember to turn off the turn indicators after performing the maneuver.

Salam everyone, this is a question, the right turn signal and emergency lights of the Priora 2013 do not work, who knows?

Many Lada Priora car owners are faced with a malfunction in the direction indicators. Based on past experience, they begin to look for the cause of the failure with the relay or fuse, but they cannot find them. Let's look at how the turn signal circuit diagram works and the procedure for troubleshooting.

Repair and operation of the VAZ 2108 2109 21099 car

If the turn signals on the VAZ 2109 do not work, then driving the car should be stopped. Because other drivers will not see where you are turning and an emergency situation will arise. This is also scary because many do not immediately notice that their turn signals do not work and continue to drive with non-working turn signals. It is very easy to understand that the turn signals on the VAZ 2109 do not work; turn on the turn signal and look at the turn signal on the instrument panel.

Turn switch VAZ 2109

The light on the instrument panel should blink. Moreover, if the engine is not started, you will hear clicks - this is the turn relay clicking. If the light on the instrument panel does not blink, but is on, it means the turns do not work. There are several reasons why the turn signals on the VAZ 2109 do not work: 1) Malfunction of the turn relay 2) Burnt out turn signal bulb

1) If the turn signal relay is faulty, the light on the instrument panel lights up green without blinking. However, this does not mean that your turn signal relay is faulty.

There may well be poor contact between the turn relay and the relay socket in the mounting block. This is easy to check - turn on the turn and move the turn relay.

Lada Priora turn signal diagram

The turn signal circuit on the Priora differs from the usual one, where a relay and a fuse were used. The function of the Priora turn relay is performed by the electrical package control controller (CPC), which is located under the panel next to the ECU. It receives input (negative) signals to contacts (X2-7 and X2-8) from the steering column switches and the hazard warning button. At the output, the TsBKE block forms “pluses” on the contacts (X1-14 and X1-15), which go to the light bulbs in the headlights and lanterns. The clicks of the turn signals are not produced by the relay, but by a buzzer on the unit board.

  • F2 (60 A) – fuse for the power supply circuit of the engine cooling system fan (power circuit), additional relay (ignition relay), rear window heating, electrical package controller;
  • F3 (60 A) – fuse for the power supply circuit of the electric fan of the engine cooling system (relay control circuit), sound signal, alarm signal, ignition switch, instrument cluster, interior lighting, brake light, cigarette lighter;
  • F4, F6 (60 A) – generator power circuit fuses;
  • F5 (50 A) – fuse for the power supply circuit of the electromechanical power steering

Causes of malfunctions in the operation of turn signals

Approximate procedure if the turn signals fail:

  1. Check the serviceability of the lamp (if it is burnt out, the indicator in the instrument cluster will blink twice as often). If necessary, replace the lamp with a new one;
  2. Check the “grounds” that are located next to the headlight unit and flashlight. Clean the terminals;
  3. Check the steering column switch (example: the contact is stuck and the turn signals do not turn off). Replace it with a known good one, or check it by closing the contacts of the block 49a and 49aL (for the left) or 49a and 49aR (for the right). If the turn signals work, there is a fault in the steering column switch;
  4. Check the hazard warning button in the same way;
  5. Check the wiring to the electrical accessories control unit (example: the rear wall of the radio tape recorder rests against the wires that come from the emergency lights and contact is lost);
  6. Check for the presence of a “plus” on the TsBKE block (X1-14 and X1-15);
  7. Check the wiring from the TsBKE to the lamps. Disconnect the block with wires X1 and apply power through a 5A fuse to pins 14 and 15 of connector X1. (example: if the left or right turn signals on a Priora do not work, then it is possible that when installing the wing, a self-tapping screw got into the wiring harness and caused a short circuit).
  8. The reason is the alarm (for example, the diodes are burned out or the relay is stuck). You should disconnect the alarm connection points to the electrical package control unit and check the operation of the turn signals;
  9. CBKE does not work. Check fuse F31. If there are malfunctions in the operation of the CBKE (example: the left turn signal is constantly on), then you should contact a service station to repair or replace it. In some cases, the reason for the failure of the turn signals was poor contact in the CBKE; the problem was solved by simply turning the unit upside down.

Diagnosis and elimination of complex faults

Stuck relays and damaged diodes are breakdowns that require careful diagnosis and labor-intensive replacement. To carry out diagnostics, it is necessary to disconnect all points where the car alarm system is connected to the electrical package control system. If, as a result of these actions, the turn signal lights up in normal mode, then it is necessary to replace the damaged section of the wiring.

It is more difficult when, even after these manipulations, the turn signals of a passenger car are constantly on. Then all attention shifts to CBKE. In particular, we are talking about fuse F31, which is subject to external influences: voltage changes, moisture ingress, etc. An additional signal that the problem is related to it will be poorly functioning window regulators.

In this case, you must contact an authorized service station for diagnostics and replacement.

This will require special equipment. If work is performed in a garage, there is a high risk of further deteriorating the technical condition of the vehicle.

Thorough examination of technical condition

To diagnose and eliminate the malfunction, you should visit a service station. If you have experience and the necessary equipment, you can do everything yourself. This will require 1-2 hours of free time. Among the most common causes, car mechanics identify a short circuit or physical wear of the mechanism. Regardless of this, the procedure is as follows:

Possible causes of the malfunction include damage to the wiring leading to the electrical package control unit. One of the most common examples: an incorrectly installed radio tape recorder pinches the wires, which leads to a short circuit. Do not lose sight of the wiring connecting the light bulbs and the CBKE. You can verify that the circuit is working properly as follows:

Why do we need turn signals?

Turn indicators are a mandatory attribute of a modern car. They are usually located in the front, back and sides. In some cases, the turn signals “move” to the wing or to the rear view mirrors. Additional lights are installed if the visibility of the main signals is limited, for example, by equipment on special equipment or a trailer as part of a road train. The serviceability of turn signals ensures mutual understanding of drivers on the road.

Now a car enthusiast can check at any time whether the turn signal light is on or not. But it was not always so. Such devices first appeared on cars several decades ago. At first they were complex mechanical products, and their activation was accompanied by a loud crash and frequent breakdowns. The first copies were installed at the driver's request, so they were purchased separately. Sweden has always been ahead of the rest in road safety. It offered various devices for its cars designed to signal the driver's intentions while driving using pop-up flags and other moving elements.

When a car's turn signal light comes on, those around them understand that the driver is about to make a maneuver. Traffic rules require the use of a turn signal to indicate the intention to make a turn, turn or other action associated with a change in the position of the vehicle on the roadway. The turn signal lights up after simply pressing the lever.

If the turn signal bulb breaks, you must signal with your hand extended to the side. This technique is also used by cyclists and horse-drawn cart drivers.

Turn signal bulbs must be in good working order not only for traffic safety, but also in order to save the contents of your wallet, since the timely use of car light alarms is regulated by traffic rules. Violation is punishable by a warning or a fine.

Good day, comrades. This is the situation. The turn signal on the left side has failed and does not light up, not on the front headlight on the left, not on the fender, not on the rear light. The light bulbs are all intact. The right side works. When the emergency lights are turned on, only the right side blinks, the left does not blink either. When I turn on the right turn signal, the turn signal clicks are normal, when I turn on the left turn signal, the clicks are fast. But it doesn’t burn(((What could be the matter?!

We are looking for a breakdown with our own hands

Primary diagnostics can be carried out with a test light, but a tester is required to check the condition of the circuit. If you know how to use a multimeter, then in resistance measurement mode you can independently “ring” the wiring for a break.

The search for the reason why the turn signals and emergency lights stopped working should begin with studying the electrical circuit. We recommend that you refrain from self-repair if you are unfamiliar with the basics of electrical engineering and methods for restoring wiring.

If you clearly hear the relay clicking when you turn on the right/left turn signal, check the resistance of the section of the circuit with the steering column switch. If only the left or right side does not work, the reason is definitely in the switch or in the wiring of the circuit from it to the light bulbs.

If the turn signal relay does not click at all, check the condition of the contacts, the positive wire and ground. If, after turning on the ignition, “+” does not come to the relay, the problem is most likely in the section of the circuit from the mounting block to the relay.

Understeering's shifter

The cause of the malfunction can be either mechanical damage to plastic or contact elements, or the formation of carbon deposits. During operation of the turn signals, the contacts may burn out, which increases the resistance and reduces the current in the circuit. It is typical that in the case of oxides and carbon deposits, the indicator relay may click, but the lamps will not light up.

To repair the steering column switch, you will need to remove it from the steering column and disassemble it. There are many contact pads inside the case, so for trouble-free assembly, remember the location of all moving elements.

Removal and installation of pyrotechnic products requires compliance with safety regulations. Therefore, we recommend reading how to properly remove the airbag.

Where is it located and how to check the turn signal relay

The turn signal relay is located in the fuse box in the passenger compartment or under the hood. You can find out the exact location from the repair and operation manual of your car. Often on the inside of the mounting block the purpose of the relays and fuses is graphically depicted.

Soldering of elements from the circuit, microcracks in solder joints, failure of the main microcircuit are the most common causes of turn signal failure.

Fuses and relays in Lada Priora, electrical diagrams

Lada Priora is another car in the line of new VAZ cars, which is gaining popularity among segments of the population. External similarities with the 10th model attract the attention of young people; the relatively low price is also a reason for purchase for most car enthusiasts. Along with the growth in popularity, the owners of this model are gaining experience in repair and maintenance, which is becoming more and more every year.

If your Priora has electrical problems, do not rush to get upset; first, check the fuses and relays in your Lada Priora. These are the ones that will be discussed in this article.

Additional block

Additional relays are mounted on a bar and located under the dashboard, near the front passenger's feet. To get to them, you need to remove the right tunnel lining. Next to the additional relays is the electronic engine control unit (ECU).

If its connector interferes with access to the relay, disconnect it by first removing the negative terminal from the battery.

Circuit breakers

F1 (15 A) – main relay circuit, starter interlock.

F2 (7.5 A) – power circuit of the electronic control unit (ECU).

F3 (15 A) – electric fuel pump . If the fuel pump has stopped pumping (this can be determined by the absence of a sound when the ignition is turned on), check together with relay K2. There may also be problems with the immobilizer, it blocks the pump, see information about F20. If the wiring, this fuse and the relay are good, most likely the fuel pump itself has failed. To remove it, you need to disconnect the battery, remove the rear seat cushion, unscrew the cover, ring and fuel hoses, then carefully remove the entire fuel pump.

K1 – main relay.

K2 – electric fuel pump relay . See above about F3.

Fuse box in the passenger compartment of VAZ-2170, -2171, -2172

The fuse box in Priora is located at the bottom of the dashboard, on the left side of the steering wheel. To get to it, you need to open the cover, which is held on by three latches. Rotate each locking knob 90 degrees and pull the lid down and it will snap open.

Fuses in the interior mounting block

F1 (25 A) - radiator cooling fan . If your fan does not work, check its motor by applying 12 V directly to it from the battery. If the engine is working properly, then most likely the problem is in the wiring or connectors. Check the serviceability of relay K1.

The fan in the Priora usually turns on at a temperature of 105-110 degrees. Do not allow the engine to overheat, watch the arrow of the temperature sensor.

Why is the turn signal flashing quickly?

Such a small nuisance can happen to anyone and, in most cases, there is nothing serious about it. For example, the most common reason that the turn signal blinks very quickly may be that one of the bulbs has burned out. For example, if at least one turn signal bulb burns out - front, rear, or additional - this is quite enough for the current resistance in the network to change. The result is that the entire side where the bulb is faulty will blink very quickly. You just need to screw in a new lamp and everything will be fine.

If the left or right turn signal blinks quickly, but all the lights are working, then the problem is of a different nature. Alternatively, it is possible that carbon deposits, rust, or dirt have formed on the lamp base and in the socket contact itself, making the contact unstable. This may well be the reason why the turn signal of the VAZ 2109, or any other car, is flashing quickly. To solve this problem, you will have to disassemble all the turn signals and clean all the lamps and contacts.

The turn signal on the VAZ 2107 flashes quickly much less often due to a faulty turn signal relay. As a rule, relays last for decades, so this reason can be considered an exception.

Finally, another reason that the turn signal blinks quickly is the installation of LED lamps rather than ordinary incandescent lamps. LED lamps have a completely different resistance, so their installation can also cause frequent blinking of the turn signal.

If all these options do not suit your case, if the light bulbs are new, the contacts are clean, the relay is working, the fuses are intact - you are out of luck, since the problem is in the wiring itself. If you are not an electrician, then you will not be able to deal with this trouble yourself - contact a car service center.

We hope that we were able to help you solve the problem of why the turn signal is blinking frequently. Read more of our articles, improve your knowledge, because car repair is easy.

I replaced the turn switch and it doesn't work well. I turn on the turn (right and left), it blinks once, 2 times there is sound, but without the turn signal blinking, on the 3rd and further there is no sound and no blinking. I took it apart and reinstalled it several times. The alarm works flawlessly and the fuses are also ok.

The power supply circuit for the VAZ 2114 turn signals includes a steering column switch, a relay, a fuse, an alarm switch, lamps and wiring.

Each of these elements performs its own function. The switch supplies power to the necessary lamps. Additionally, voltage can be supplied through the emergency button, bypassing the switch. To protect the wiring from a possible short circuit in the turn signal wiring, fuses are included in the circuit.

The relay is responsible for interrupting the lighting of the lamps, that is, this element ensures the blinking of the turn signals. In addition, it makes it possible to determine the serviceability of all lamps. If at least one lamp burns out, the blinking frequency of all turn signals, as well as the warning lamp on the dashboard, will double.

If, after replacing the steering column switch, problems arise with the operation of this light alarm, in this case the one-time operation of the lamps is to blame for this relay.

Everything is simple here - if the switch was faulty, then the turn signals either would not work at all, or they would work in one mode, for example, the right turn signals would blink, but the left ones would not.

The fuses also disappear, since if they blew, no power would be supplied to the circuit, that is, the turns would not work at all.

The relay is not an expensive part, so it is easier to replace it than to repair it.

Still, before replacing this component, it is recommended to first check its functionality. To do this, you can borrow this element from another car or install your relay on another car.

Replacement is easy. On the VAZ 2114 this element is located in the fuse box. Under the cover of this block there is a diagram of the location of all fuses and relays, using it you can easily find the necessary element.

If there is no diagram, then it is easy to determine what you need - it is located in the top row, second from the left. It does not have any fastening, it is simply installed with its plugs in the connectors.

It is worth noting that you must purchase and install on your car only a relay recommended by the manufacturer, in this case model 493.3747. It is also possible to install analogues, of which there are many on the market now, but first you should inquire about the operating parameters, which are usually marked on the body. The characteristics of the failed and purchased elements must completely match.

All that remains is to install a new element in the fuse box and check the functionality of the turn signals.

Turning lights should be in working order in any car. This type of optics allows other road users to know your intentions when making maneuvers, so the performance of turns has a large impact on safety. What to do if the VAZ 2114 emergency light does not work, how to identify the problem and replace the lamps? Read about it below.

The window regulator does not work on the Lada Priora

On a VAZ-2170 Priora passenger car, depending on the configuration, electric windows can be installed only on the two front doors (then the rear ones will be manual) or electric windows can be installed on all four doors. Moreover, the window lifters on the front doors will be cable or rack and pinion, and on the rear doors, only cable ones.

Malfunctions leading to failure of power windows can be divided into two groups . The first group of faults is associated with electrical problems, and the second with purely mechanical ones.

There are significantly fewer failures associated with mechanical faults than with electrical faults.

These include: cutting off the teeth of the plastic gear of the gearbox and problems with the cable drive, which is stretched during operation, which sometimes leads to it jumping off the guide rollers.

all power windows fail to operate, you will have to check the integrity of the 30-amp fuse F31 of the central electrical package control unit, located in the mounting block.

If only the rear power windows do not want to open using the control buttons located on the doors, but they are activated from the central control unit, then the reason will need to be looked for in the locking switch for the rear windows.

It will have to be checked with a tester for current flow in the position when it is turned off.

If one window lifter , which they are trying to turn on from the central control unit, then it will be necessary to check its operation using the switch located on the door.

If it is triggered by this switch, then you will have to check the switch of the central unit for current flow, and if it does not trigger, then you will have to check the serviceability of the electric motor, first checking whether voltage is supplied to it.

If there is voltage, the electric motor is faulty, and if there is no voltage, then you will need to check the wires going to it.

In the electric window lifter motor, the most likely malfunctions may be wear or sticking of the commutator brushes. Hanging of the brushes occurs due to the fact that the brush holder is made of plastic and when heated it can melt slightly, and this leads to the fact that the brush loses its mobility and at the slightest wear it comes off the commutator.

Window lifter does not work - repair

If the window regulator on your car has stopped working, there could be many reasons for this. But, in general, all problems can be combined into two large groups: electrical failures and mechanical defects of the mechanism. In both cases, everything can be fixed with your own hands. In this article, we will analyze the main problems from both groups.

Reasons for failure of turn signals and emergency lights

As you know, the circuit of direction indicators and hazard warning lights is tied, since both functions are performed by the same headlights.
If for some reason the hazard lights are working, but the turn signals are not, or neither the turns nor the warning lights are on, this can lead to an emergency situation on the road. For what reasons did these elements stop working:

Replacing the steering column turn switch and wipers on a Priora

So, these parts are quite easy to change, and to perform this simple repair you will need at most one Phillips screwdriver. We will need it to unscrew the screws securing the steering column casing, since it will first need to be removed.

After which the entire structure and fastenings of the switches become accessible. In order to make a replacement, you need to press the plastic clips on both sides (top and bottom) and simultaneously pull to the side.

As a result, the switch is completely removed from its seat, as is clearly demonstrated below.

To finally remove it, you should disconnect the block with the power wires from the inside.

It is worth noting that if you remove the right steering column switch, you will additionally need to disconnect another wire that goes to the control button for the standard on-board computer.

In the case of the right switch, nothing additional is required. Installation occurs in reverse order. You can change these parts in just 10 minutes, even taking into account the fact that this will be your first time doing this.

You can buy new switches at a price of 350 rubles for the left one, and from 600 rubles for the right one. Of course, at a car dismantling center, such a product will cost almost twice as much as a new one.

How to indicate the direction of travel if the turn signals are faulty

In some cases, it is not possible to use turn signals. For example, when they are faulty, blocked by foreign objects, or not provided for by the design. The traffic rules provide guidance in this regard.

  • a raised hand indicates the driver's intention to brake.
  • a hand extended horizontally to the left warns of the intention to turn left or change lanes to the left.
  • an outstretched right arm or a bent left arm at the elbow, looking up with the hand, speaks of the above maneuvers, but to the right.

In addition to these hand signs, there are also unofficial, but no less useful:

  • Flashing your headlights to an oncoming driver: there is danger ahead or turn off your high beams.
  • A brief activation of the hazard warning lights means gratitude for allowing you into the next row or an apology for a sudden maneuver.
