Quite often, buyers decide to purchase cars from a domestic manufacturer. Naturally, this has its advantages, but there are also disadvantages. As a rule, domestic cars have a low cost and this is their main advantage. The presented fact even covers the fact that such a car will have less efficiency. So, the car that we will discuss today is precisely one of these budget cars. The most popular configuration of the Lada Granta car is the norm configuration. When choosing such a vehicle, the buyer naturally hopes that it is equipped with a standard alarm system, since, for example, the Lada Kalina is equipped with such an alarm system. But the Lada Granta is not equipped with an anti-theft system; the only thing the buyer can count on is an immobilizer. The luxury package is the only package of the Lada Grant that is equipped with a standard anti-theft alarm, but many car dealership workers claim that it is inferior.
In this configuration, the alarm is triggered when the doors are opened, thus preventing unauthorized entry into the vehicle interior. When purchasing a luxury Lada Grant from a car dealership on credit, insurers will not require the installation of alarm systems. To activate the standard alarm, the vehicle owner will only need to drive up to the dealer. The standard alarm is considered part of the electronic system and is equipped with a remote control that is built into the ignition key.
But it is quite possible to install a more effective alarm system with auto start and two-way communication on a Lada Granta car. The engine auto-start function, which appears after the alarm installation has been completed, is especially convenient when used in the cold season, since in the cold the oil and engine need to be warmed up. The owners of such a system claim that it functions without any failures at a temperature of -35⁰C.
Installation of alarm system on Lada Granta
Two-way communication is also quite a useful thing, since there is absolutely no need to install a loud alarm, as well as an external signal, which can be easily turned off. If there is an attempt to break into the vehicle, the key fob on the ignition key will emit a fairly loud signal that will be heard throughout the apartment.

How is the anti-theft system installed?
To install an anti-theft system we will need:
- Siren (for example, Alfa 12V);
- Alarm system (for example, StarLine B62);
- Connectors and limit switches for 3 doors;
- Universal electronic drive;
- The wire is of medium diameter and about 10 meters long.
Connecting an alarm system to Granta
Alarm establishment algorithm:
- Remove the instrument panel;
- Disconnect the battery;
- Place the main unit behind the instrument panel;
- Hook the main unit onto the air duct with plastic clamps;
- Connect the alarm to the door switches (red and green);
- Connect the signal outputs to the turn signals (blue and black);
- Remove the door trim;
- Install an additional activator on the driver's door;
- Connect the connectors, and then put on the elastic band, leaving a loop of wire;
- Install limit switches at the bottom of the front pillars and rear fenders;
- Connect to the trailer for the trunk (to black and white);
- Replace the incandescent lamp for the luggage compartment illumination with an LED one;
- Connect the alarm power wire to the ignition switch;
- Pass the limit switch and siren wiring through the rubber of the engine shield;
- Attach the shock sensor with a clamp near the fuse box on a horizontal shelf. Attach a relay nearby to open the luggage compartment using the remote control. The relay must be connected in parallel to the standard trunk opening button;

Finalization of the scheme

Programming the duration of control pulses
Even if the alarm is connected correctly, it is not a fact that the owner will be able to control the locks from the key fob. The point is that it is necessary to correctly select the duration of the control pulse (for locking and for opening). There is no need to make it too large so as not to overheat the actuators.

The “Lux” package has the following property: after 15 minutes of inactivity, the electronics “fall asleep”. It may take an extra boost to wake her up. How to turn off an alarm if it won't turn off
With emergency shutdown function. To remove the lock, you must enable service mode. Also, every owner of a car with an alarm system should be aware of where the Valet button is installed in the car. It is usually installed in the cabin, near the fuse box. With this button you can interact with the alarm control unit - add additional security functions, reflash key fobs, etc.
And if a situation occurs when the siren screams and does not turn off, then using this button you can enter the access code that was originally registered during installation of the alarm. For a clear example, in order to turn off the howling of the siren, you will need to turn on the ignition, then press the Valet button 2 times and then turn off the ignition. After these steps, the alarm will turn off and you can start the engine and drive away.
Method 2 is the most effective and will most likely turn off the alarm. If you manage to get into the car, and the alarm is screaming at full blast, then you just need to press the “open” button on the key fob in a row. After some time, the system will respond to the key fob and the siren will turn off. And all because in most cases the connection between the alarm control unit and the key fob is simply lost. And if you constantly press Unlock, it will strengthen the radio transmission, after which contact will resume.
Every owner of a car equipped with a security alarm can experience an unpleasant situation when the key fob shows no signs of life and it is impossible to use it to disarm the car and turn off the alarm.

Does the alarm not turn off? What to do?
Modern security devices with two-way communication allow you to inform the owner about the reason for the operation, displaying on the key fob or the owner’s phone screen which of the sensors was triggered (shock, volume, tilt or movement, an attempt to start the engine without a security tag, etc.). In the case of older devices, the LED acts as a source of response data, which, when the vehicle is disarmed, shows the sensor response zone using a certain combination of flashes. A decoding of these signals is attached to the operating instructions for the security complex.
Frequent alarms are a wake-up call for the owner and indicate possible malfunctions in its operation, caused by one reason or another, or by attempts to steal your car. In any case, in the event of continuous false alarms, you should contact specialists as soon as possible to carry out a full diagnosis of the alarm and eliminate the problem.
It is probably just necessary to adjust the sensitivity of the sensors and make additional settings, but more serious problems are possible.

Tips for motorists
The central lock installed on the Lada Granta allows the driver to remotely close or open the doors of his car. This can be done either from the remote control or by turning the key in the driver's door lock. When you press the remote control button, an encoded radio signal is emitted, which reaches the receiver located inside the cabin. Having recognized the signal and compared it with the current code, the central locking, using electromagnetic locks, opens the door locks.
The presence of a radio signal in the central locking door opening circuit can lead to malfunctions in its operation if, for example, the car is stopped in an area of strong electromagnetic interference (high-voltage power lines, broadcast towers of radio or television stations, etc.). Also, you need to be careful when handling the control panel, because there is an electronic circuit inside it that can be damaged if you accidentally drop the ignition key on which it is located. And the battery in the remote control must be changed in a timely manner, since if left without power, the electronics will not work.
The driver of a Lada Granta car should also know that when, for any reason, the terminals are removed from the battery and then installed, after some time in place, the central locking stops working fully. When you press the remote control button, only the driver's door will close; the remaining doors will have to be closed manually. To restore normal operation of the central locking, you need to remove the negative terminal of the battery for a couple of minutes, and then put it back in place.
Over time, problems may arise due to the fact that when closing the doors using the remote control, one of the three buttons of the passenger door lock does not go all the way down, which leads to the lock not working and the door remaining unlocked. In order to eliminate this malfunction, you will have to remove the inner door trim and fix the plastic assembly (so that it does not move) located below the lock button, which began to move slightly back and forth in the square hole under the influence of moving rods, when trying to close the door lock. The same problem with locking the door lock is caused by a slight deformation of the rod, onto the threaded part of the end of which the lock button is screwed.

Installation of the anti-theft system is carried out in the following order:
- First install the siren in the engine compartment; when installing, keep in mind that it should not be exposed to moisture or high temperatures.
- Attach the hood warning switch.
- It is necessary to install a power unit temperature controller on the motor itself.
- To the left of the cylinder block you can see a plug - through it you need to pull all the cables from the siren, the controller and the installed open hood limit switch. When all the wires are in the cabin, it is necessary to diagnose the plug and the reliability of the wires.
- After completing these steps, you need to install the anti-theft system control unit; it is best to place it behind the control panel. When installing, keep in mind that the unit must be securely fastened, otherwise vibrations will affect it, and this will not lead to anything good.
- Now open the fuse box - you need to mount the Valet service button on its bottom bar. You can also install a shock sensor here, in accordance with the signal of which the siren will turn on.
- Next, we move on to installing the transmitter; it can be placed near the rearview mirror or opposite the driver’s seat. As a rule, this adapter is fixed with tape. If the kit comes with a separate light indicator, it can be installed in the rack housing. The light bulb is fixed with glue.
- The next step is to connect the wire to the door end switch, to this wire you will then connect the wiring from the remaining doors. We move on to the luggage compartment and lay out the wiring, connecting the corresponding cable to the end switch.
- Now all you have to do is connect all the necessary contacts to the control unit, as well as to the ignition switch. To do this, use the diagram above.
Immobilizer and its location
An immobilizer is a standard car alarm system. Its purpose is to block the engine starting system if an attempt to start it is unauthorized.
The device blocks the main components that prevent the engine from starting.
Such a Lada alarm system will not be able to signal with a siren about illegal entry into the car, but it will block the engine, so the maximum that a potential thief can do is to “surround” the car’s interior (the author of the video is Ivan Sergeev).
Of course, in this case, the car owner may lose personal belongings, but you don’t have to worry about the safety of the vehicle.
New Lada: Lada Granta stove blows cold air
The main immo block is located in a hard-to-reach place for obvious reasons, so that a hijacker cannot disable it. To get to the unit in your car, you need to partially disassemble the center console.
The unit itself is located behind the stove, and the immo control sensor is located in the ignition switch.
Step by step installation
If this is your first time performing such manipulations and you have no idea how, what and where, follow exactly the recommendations in the step-by-step instructions, and everything will work out for you:
- First of all, you need to install an alarm bell (siren) under the hood.
- Then the limit switch is installed on the hood cover. There is even a special place for it on the engine shield. But only a limit switch according to the European standard will do, and in order to install a domestic analogue there, you will have to work hard.
- To the left of the engine you will find a rubber plug through which you need to lay the wire from the siren and the previously installed limit switch into the cabin.
- Next comes work with the main unit of the security system. It is best to install it behind car instruments. Select the appropriate bracket and install the device.
- Attach the service button to the bottom strip of the fuse box.
- Install a shock sensor nearby.
- To install the wiring to the signal transmitter, you will need to remove the lamp shade and sun visors. Place the transmitter above the rearview mirror.
- The LED indicator is traditionally attached to the left pillar.
- After carefully studying the connection diagram, you can begin connecting the main unit of the alarm system to the ignition switch.
- The most difficult stage is the automatic opening of the door. And all because central locking is installed and the driver's door can only be opened with a key. But still there is an opening electric drive, but it is not connected. This means that there are no necessary wires in the connectors. Therefore, you need to remove the 9-pin and look for suitable microcontacts, because the standard ones will not fit - they will not be able to provide the necessary grip. Then simply assemble the connector and then connect the wires. This procedure must be repeated on all doors.
- Route the wires into the interior through a corrugated tube and install all the door switches. The latter must be connected in parallel.
Test the installed security system. If it works, then you did everything correctly. It is not so easy to install it yourself, but if you want to do it, you will succeed.
