How to set up the key fob?

Performing all alarm functions of Sherkhan Logicar 2 and 3 is possible only after entering the code about the communicator into the microprocessor memory.

The process of binding a pager is done as follows:

1. Vehicle protection mode is disabled. The key is inserted into the lock and turned to activate the ignition. At the same time, you need to hold down the button to enter the service mode for two seconds.
2. The vehicle lights will flash. Within five seconds after this, you must click on the “Jack” button again. The hazard warning light will blink twice and the status LED will remain lit continuously.
3. On the key fob to be registered, the first control element is pressed. Information about the communicator code will be entered into the microprocessor memory. The vehicle's hazard lights will flash once.

The rest of the pagers are programmed in the same way. In total, the control unit allows you to register no more than three key fobs. If the microprocessor memory becomes full, the lights will blink twice and the system will exit the binding menu.

If you need to reset all parameters of the security system to factory settings, perform the following steps:

1. When the ignition and security systems are turned off, the first and fourth keys “click” simultaneously. The alarm will enter the setup menu.

3. Over the next five seconds, the alarm parameters will be reset to factory values. If the reset is successful, three beeps will sound and the alarm will sound.

1. The vehicle stops in place. The gearbox lever is moved to the neutral speed position if the car has a manual transmission. If there is an automatic transmission, the selector is set to “Parking” mode. The handbrake lever is raised and the pedal is released.
2. The second key of the communicator is pressed for two seconds. This will turn on the ignition support system and the pager will emit a double beep. At this moment, the timer mode starts.
3. The key is removed from the ignition switch. The power unit will continue to function.
4. The driver leaves the cabin and turns on the security function. The engine will remain running, but the starter power circuit will be blocked.

How to enable and configure autorun?

When the engine starts automatically, the operation of the power unit is controlled by tachometer signals; to configure them, the following steps are performed:

1. The machine security function is disabled. The power unit starts.
2. The setting button is pressed for 2 seconds until the machine lights blink.
3. The key is released and pressed again for four seconds. If configured correctly, the car's hazard warning lights will blink once. Otherwise there will be three blinks.

The implementation of automatic engine start on a vehicle with a manual transmission is possible only after setting up the box reservation option.

To do this, carry out the following actions:

1. The car stops, the brake pedal is depressed. The gear selector is moved to neutral. The parking brake lever is lifted and the pedal is released.
2. The ignition in the car is turned off, the key is removed from the lock.
3. Over the next two minutes, the user leaves the car and turns on the security mode (he must lock all the doors).
4. After activation, the power unit should stall. If the Turbo Timer option is enabled, the engine will not stop.

To configure autorun by timer, perform the following steps:

1. The system programming menu is entered. The required time to start the power unit is set.
2. To activate the option, you need to simultaneously press the second and fourth buttons on the communicator.

In emergency mode, disabling the Sherkhan Logicar 3 anti-theft system without a programmed password is done as follows:

1. The key opens one or more car doors. The security complex will begin to play alarm signals.
2. Within four seconds, the key in the lock is turned to the “On” position. You do not need to crank the engine with the starter to start.
3. The service mode activation button is pressed for two seconds. If all actions are performed correctly, the alarms will turn off.
4. Within 5 seconds, the key is pressed again, only briefly, without pressing. The siren will sound once, this will turn off the ignition circuits and the starter mechanism. The car's security will turn off.

If you have a personal password, disabling the alarm is done as follows:

1. The door opens and the ignition system turns on. There is no need to start the power unit.
2. The button to enter the service mode is pressed for two seconds. This will temporarily deactivate the alarm.
3. Within 5 seconds, the key is briefly pressed once. The lighting devices and LED status indicator will blink.
4. Over the next four seconds, the first character of the personal password is entered. The service key is used to indicate the code, but the pause between presses should be no more than 1.5 seconds. The number of “clicks” must correspond to the first digit of the code; it can be in the range from 1 to 4.
5. To confirm successful entry, the signaling light will blink along with the diode. The light will then go into rapid flashing mode.

Possible malfunctions and their elimination

Problems that can occur in the operation of the Sherkhan Logicar 3 alarm system, as well as ways to solve them:

1. If there is a physical impact on the body, the alarm does not emit warning or alarm signals. The reason is a poor connection of the shock sensor or its incorrect setting. To fix the problem, you should increase the sensitivity parameter of the controller and make sure that it is connected to the power grid. If the quality of the contact is poor, then the connector must be cleaned and the integrity of the electrical wiring checked.
2. Sending alarm messages to the communicator without information about the activation of the security zone. The duration of the alarm is too short to determine the cause. The problem may be that the sensitivity of the shock controller is too high; the operating parameter should be reduced.
3. Lack of alarm response to sending commands from the key fob. The cause of the problem may be that the power supply installed in the pager is low. Sometimes the fault lies in the lack of contact at the battery terminal clamp. To eliminate the cause, you should check the tightness of the terminals and also replace the batteries in the pager. If the reason is desynchronization of the communicator and the control unit, then the device must be re-registered into the module’s memory. The problem may be the presence of interference, then to disable the security you need to use emergency deactivation or move the remote control closer to the transceiver.
4. Arbitrary deactivation of the vehicle protection mode. Either the shutdown button is pressed in the user's pocket, or the Hands Free option is enabled.
5. No warning signals when the alarm is activated or deactivated. The cause of the problem may be an incorrect connection or failure of the signal relay. The latter is located in the microprocessor module. It is necessary to check the operation of the part and replace it if necessary.
6. The execution of options is not displayed on the communicator display. When you press the controls, the pager's communication indicator with the transceiver blinks. The cause of the problem is usually the failure of the quartz element installed on the key fob transmitter. The device will need to be repaired or replaced. If this problem occurs, it is recommended to check the operation of the alarm using an additional pager.

At the moment, systems of the Logicar families (except for series with the suffix i, but not iS!) and Magicar (up to the 13th model) are not considered crypto-resistant, which is confirmed by both theft statistics and tests of independent publications. In the case of a typical installation, if the owner (like most of them) does not bother to read the operating instructions, the resistance of the alarm to hacking is reduced catastrophically, since without the user specifying a PIN code for disabling the alarm, the thief can disable the alarm mode by two presses of the Valet button, which the creators of Scher-Khan persistently place it in the most visible place - in the LED module.

In Slave mode, outdated Scher-Khan systems do not have additional validation, that is, if the code of the standard radio key fob is cracked, they are completely deactivated, without checking the eligibility of access to the car.

A common problem with Scher-Khan systems that does not allow the implementation of full-fledged anti-theft systems on their basis is the extreme primitiveness of the start-up interlock mechanism: the installer has at his disposal only one built-in interlock relay (absent on a number of systems) and an additional low-current output to an external relay. The ability to assemble modular complexes, connect wireless blocking relays, or indirectly block the start via the CAN bus is not available in current Scher-Khan systems.

In addition to the ease of deciphering the code message, which the proprietary Magic Code communication protocol of all generations suffers from, it also has a proprietary flaw that is very familiar to owners of Logicar 1-3 alarms - the central alarm unit often loses synchronization with the key fob, ceasing to perceive commands coming from it.

1. Disarm the car and turn on the ignition.
