Car : Lada Largus. Asks : Ruslan Tsarkulov. Question : I locked the key in the car, it was standing at the garage door, how do I open the door?
I, like many others, found myself in the following situation. I was warming up my car (Lada Largus) next to my garage, and for some reason the central locking worked. It is possible that the alarm system has malfunctioned. However, the machine continued to work, and I could not open it. The only lucky thing is that in the next garage the guys are doing similar things. They opened the car for me, but I never saw the way.
What should you do in such situations, and is there a way to open the car door yourself? Naturally, the method is needed in such a way that it can be handled without special equipment and without damaging the car. Do not suggest breaking glass!
Ruslan, it’s also interesting to know. Suddenly I find myself in a similar situation. Although I have two keys for my car. One with you, and the second at home. Fortunately, the garage is at hand and the journey will take 30 minutes, so you won’t have to break the windows.
There seems to be one way, but that’s how it turns out. People use a thin metal line and pass it between the door, it seems like the lock works when it catches on the line and “waila!”, the swallow has opened. Good question, though.
The fishing line method is suitable if you have experience with this. I tried several times... it turned out about 20 times))
The motorist explained in detail what needs to be done in a situation where the driver forgot the keys in the LADA Largus, and the door accidentally slammed. This method is also suitable for Renault Logan cars.

The sucker is fate.
I went to visit my mother-in-law, 300 kilometers from home. And while I was loading my wife’s things (she was staying for almost a month while she closed the session), I threw the keys into the trunk. But my alarm is designed so that it does not detect the opening of the trunk doors. In general, having loaded my things, I slammed the trunk and remembered that I had left the keys inside, and the spare houses were three hundred kilometers away...
I took out my phone and tried to find some way to open the doors, while roaming was greedily eating up my balance, I couldn’t find anything useful. I decided to use the old method of opening the “ten”, but I could not catch the lock’s pull. As a result, armed with a thick steel wire, he bent the top edge of the passenger door and pressed the central locking button.
Now I’m thinking of stopping by the salon and asking for the luggage compartment limit switches to be connected to the signaling system.
This is how I heroically overcame the difficulties created by myself, because it was possible to be more attentive and it was much easier to take a spare set and put it, for example, in the inner pocket of my jacket. And last time there (a year earlier) I left my keys in a patrol car (!), where they wanted to fine me for parking in the wrong place. By the way, there was a sign, although it was hard to find, but that’s a completely different story...

None of the car owners, both domestic and foreign, are insured against accidental closing of the door, loss of keys and suddenly discharged battery. In such cases, you most often have to call specialists. You can also try to open the car yourself. Below are ways to open a Lada Largus without a key if:
- The doors locked spontaneously, the keys remained in the cabin;
- The battery is dead;
- The lock cylinders are faulty or dirty;
- Locks froze in the cold due to moisture that accumulated on the seals;
- The key is lost or broken;
- The alarm went off from the inside and the driver was locked inside the car;
- The car stalled in a traffic jam, the central locking was blocked;
- The key fob is discharged, the car does not open;
- The lock in the glove compartment is broken;
- The trunk does not open;
- The key broke in half in the door keyhole;
- The gas tank cap does not come off;
- The lock of the tank filler cap is broken.
How to deal with Lada Largus breakdowns yourself
1. How to open the door of Largus without a key
One of the ways to open Largus without keys will keep the car in its original condition. You need to take a fishing line about 1 m long and make a tightening loop on it. Through the upper edge of the driver's door, the fishing line is inserted into a small gap downwards. Then the loop is thrown over the lock block, tightened and raised up. This option will allow you to open the door carefully without replacing the lock cylinder or breaking glass.
- The second option, how to open a Lada Largus without a key, can be used if you are ready to subsequently replace the lock cylinder in the car. You will need a drill, with which you can simply drill out the lock in the door;
- If the back door of Largus does not open from the outside, then the locking mechanism has failed. It is necessary to open the door from the inside and remove the trim, first unscrewing all the screws. After the lock has been repaired or installed in its original position, and the door is opened from the outside, the trim is returned to its place following a strict sequence of actions;
- When the door in Largus does not open from the inside, this means that the child lock was accidentally turned on. In this case, the regulator, which is located at the end of the car door, simply returns to its previous position.

As I understand it, of course you can slam the door at Largus, but why do it at all? Do you still use the keys or the alarm to close it?
I didn’t quite understand what I was talking about. I slammed it so that the car wouldn’t stand in the yard with the trunk open, but I forgot that I threw the keys there
Everything is very simple there, the hardest thing is to find a round iron rod, but I used a brake pipe from a classic, 5 minutes of patience and it opens, 2 Largus have already been opened without a key. I won’t describe the process, otherwise the youngsters will suddenly come in droves
It was exactly the same situation. The Cenmax V-6A alarm was installed in a car dealership. It was later found out that it was not connected to the trunk limit switch. We arrived with a partner after working on the bride price. While we were walking down the street developing a production plan, I set the car on security. Then, when he came back, he disarmed the security while he took the equipment out of the trunk - he put the keys nearby in the trunk so that he wouldn’t have to hold them in his hand. And the alarm system is designed so that if, after disarming the car, more than one door does not open, then the alarm system closes the car after 30 seconds. Well, while I was rummaging in the trunk, I didn’t hear the central locking close, I took out everything I needed and slammed the trunk door, but the keys remained in it. Well, I still think they screwed up. I had to call my friends, they came, took me home to get spare keys, and then took me back. I opened it with spare keys. Later I made changes to the car's electrical wiring. I cut the wire from the trunk limit switch (green, it seems) and paralleled it with the driver's door limit switch wire. After this, the alarm began to react to the trunk, perceiving it as an open door. Later I wanted to change the signaling, I wanted it with auto start. I bought a Pantera 868, it already has a separate wire for the trunk limit switch. I had to parallelize the driver's door end switch and the trunk end switch wire and splice it back together. There are no problems with the new alarm; open doors are displayed in the key fob as doors, and the trunk as a trunk.
Option #1. We call the master
The problem of locked keys and locked doors is as old as time. This situation is not isolated; this happens to drivers quite often. It is worth noting that the more complex the security system installed in the car, the more difficult it is to get the keys.
The best method is to cooperate with an insurance company that provides roadside assistance.
In this case, all you need to do is call the manager, describe the problem, and soon specialists will come to the rescue to help solve incidental situations such as a door being blocked.
If your insurance company does not provide such services, then all you have to do is call a car mechanic. You will have to wait a long time for the master to arrive - about 2 hours, or even longer. But he will open the lock without damaging the car with a tool specially designed for this purpose. The service is paid, the cost depends on the region, urgency and complexity of the work.
Option #2. We use wire and rope
This option, of course, is free, but it requires a certain skill, which is shown by the heroes of action-packed films. There are several ways to open the door yourself:
- Using a wire hook. It is important that the wire has medium stiffness and a length of about 70 cm. It needs to be bent so that you get a 7-centimeter hook at an angle of 45 degrees. The wire should fit freely into the space between the seal and the glass. You should insert the “tool” into the indicated space and hook it to the opening button. Pull until the pusher rises. Opening time is about 15 minutes.
- Rope loop. The method is suitable only if the car has an internal button protruding above the door panel. So, first you need to bend the corner of the door. Wind the rope, hook it to the button and pull. Requires maximum concentration and dexterity.
Replacement or repair
To check the condition of the parts, the door lock of the Lada Largus car must be removed and disassembled. To get to the plastic box that hides the core of the device, the handle is removed, the decorative panel is removed, and the wiring is disconnected. To work you need to prepare:
- screwdrivers;
- pliers;
- socket wrench 8;
- lubricant;
- anti-corrosion;
- knife.
Only an experienced mechanic can go through all the rules and identify the cause of the damage. It is easier for the average person to replace the cylinder, wiring or the entire lock.
Removing the trim
To work with the wiring, you will need to disconnect the contacts on the car box, otherwise a short circuit may occur. It is more convenient to carry out the procedure from inside the car. To dismantle the casing element, the following algorithm of actions is provided:
- Remove the plugs on the handle. Unscrew the three bolts under them.
- Remove the plastic cover.
- Remove the top of the trim panel by unfastening the clips.
- Remove the front shutter glass position switch.
- Dismantle the wiring harness block.
- Disconnect electrical wiring: speakers (if equipped), power windows.
- Unfasten the bottom row of clips to remove the panel.
- Unscrew the handle. Gained access to the castle.
- Unfasten the rods, remove the spring and washer.
- Unscrew the fasteners holding the box.
Now you can unscrew the box fasteners, remove the cylinder and conduct a visual inspection. If the driver comes to the conclusion that there is damage to the mechanism, then it is worth installing a new core. Having the skills, you can try to repair it, but this measure will extend the life of the device for a short time.
Replacing the cylinder or the entire device
Regardless of what decision was made, after removing the larva and before the installation process, it is necessary to treat the internal niche with an anti-corrosion substance. If a new core is installed, it is treated with a lubricant; if a solid device is installed, these actions are not required, then it is inserted into the old box. Next steps:
- The bolts are tightened. It is important to make sure that the box is secure.
- The rods are attached to hinges. The spring and washer are returned to their place.
- Wiring is being installed. The operation of the lock is checked.
Installation of the sheathing fabric is carried out in the same way as removal.
Repair options: modification, adjustment, adjustment
You can repair the pins, spring, washer and rods. The process is painstaking and requires skill. Possible actions:
- Removing the pins from the rod end. Stitch.
- Cleaning spare parts from corrosive deposits.
- Installation of spacers between the cylinder and the lock body.
- Tightening the spring and other fasteners.
- Replacement of the washer or spring is done using a flat-head screwdriver.
Individual parts for the Lada are easy to find. Sometimes tuning or adjusting the lock will help. After the device has been inspected, the grooves and pins are thoroughly cleaned. Contamination is a common cause of blockage. If the check shows that the key does not fit into the well, additional lubrication of the elements or adjustment of the internal teeth will be required. The Largus lock of the front left or right door is adjusted using a hexagon. This work is carried out before the complete assembly of the structure is completed. Required:
- Open the door, disassemble the stand.
- Loosen the screws, then fix them at a right angle.
- Change the position of the adjusting bolts by tightening or further loosening.
Option #3. Alternative methods
These methods take a little longer and require some tools. For example, using a drill, you can carefully drill out the lock cylinder. Minus - most likely, you will have to change all the lock cylinders in the car.
Another option is to pick up some metal object that will replace the key.
If you manage to force this pseudo-key into the lock, then it can be turned. Sometimes a screwdriver can act as a lock. But the larva will be irrevocably damaged.
The broken window was mentioned above. There is no need to write off this option, but it should be used only as a last resort, when other methods do not work or there is no time to use them.
In this case, you need to be prepared for the fact that you will have to drive in inclement weather with an open window, or that a traffic police officer will stop you and have to explain to him what happened. If you cannot do without breaking the glass, be careful not to get hurt, do not hit with your bare hand, it is better to use improvised objects.
Be careful, especially when away from home, and do not leave your keys in the lock. Better yet, always keep a spare set with you.
In this case, he will help solve the problem without unnecessary effort, time and nerves.
Causes of malfunction
The Largus rear door lock operates with an electric drive, and the driver's door can be opened mechanically. Poor performance is influenced not only by time, but also by:
- weather;
- irregular diagnosis;
- lack of care;
- aggressive detergents;
- water ingress;
- corrosion of metal;
- broken internal pins;
- disconnective displacement;
- device hacking;
- deformation of the body part.
Only a complete diagnosis will help identify the malfunction.
Activating automatic door locking on Lada Largus
The central locking (CL) in Lada Largus is controlled by the CEBKS unit (central electronic switching unit of the cabin). One of its functions is to automatically lock the doors while driving. This function does not work normally. Let's figure out how to activate the door locks with your own hands when you reach a certain speed.
Instructions were provided by user oapv from the Lada Largus forum.
Locking and unlocking doors
Manually locking/unlocking doors
Outside. Unlock/lock the doors using key 1 (Fig. 1.3.1). inserted into the driver's door lock.
Rice. 1.3.1. Locking/unlocking doors from outside
Depending on the vehicle configuration, the key controls the unlocking/locking of either all doors or only the driver's door.
Simultaneous unlocking/blocking of the door lock and opening the door by the handle are not allowed. This may cause the door lock to fail.
From the inside. Press button 1 (Fig. 1.3.2) on the door to lock the door, lift button 1 to unlock the door.
Rice. 1.3.2. Locking/unlocking door locks from the inside (optional)
Depending on the vehicle configuration, button 1 in the driver's door controls the locking/unlocking of either all doors or only the driver's door.
Central door locking/unlocking
Central door locking/unlocking is intended: • for locking/unlocking all doors using the remote control or a button on the instrument panel; • to unlock all door locks when opening any front door from inside the cabin.
To lock/unlock doors using the remote control, see the “Keys and Remote Control” section.
To lock/unlock the locks of all doors from the passenger compartment, press button 1 (Fig. 1.3.3) on the instrument panel, the indicator light on the button will light up for a while, then go out.
Rice. 1.3.3. Central door locking/unlocking button (optional)
If, when pressing button 1 on the instrument panel, one of the doors was open, then the door locks are not locked, as indicated by the door open indicator in the instrument cluster and the warning light on the central locking button not turning on. To forcefully lock the doors if any door is open (for example, when transporting long cargo), you need to press and hold button 1 on the instrument panel for a while.
When any front door is opened from inside the cabin, the locks of all doors are automatically unlocked; when one of the rear doors is opened, only the door being opened is unlocked.
If you decide to drive with the doors locked, remember that this may make it difficult for rescuers to enter the cabin in an emergency.
Central locking has protection for door locks against overheating.
If the door locks are locked and unlocked repeatedly within a short period of time, the system stops responding to button presses on the instrument panel and remote control.
If this happens, do not press the button on the instrument panel or remote control for a while, after which the system will be fully restored.
Lock rear doors from inside for child safety
Rice. 1.4.4. Child safety lock (optional)
If there are children in the rear seat, it is recommended to lock the rear doors from the inside for their safety. To do this, move lever 1 (Fig. 1.4.4) of the rear door, close the doors and check the opening lock from the inside.
Revision of TsEBKS
The factory does not send a signal to the CEBCS about the current speed of the vehicle, but the design can be improved. The CEBCS can receive data on the current vehicle speed from a speed sensor (installed on cars until 2014) or from the ECU (since 2014, the speed signal comes from the ABS).
The signal must be sent to pin A6 of the black 40-pin connector of the CEBCS unit (see pinout of the unit). The terminal from the power connector of the Floppy drive is suitable for this.
The speed sensor signal can be taken from three places:
- from the instrument cluster
- from the connector in the relay and fuse box under the hood
- from the airbag control unit
Let's look at the first two options:
1. Instrument cluster. The signal with the vehicle speed data comes via a green wire to pin 22 of the black connector of the instrument panel.
2. Mounting block in the engine compartment. The speed data signal goes along the green wire through pin C5 of the connector (its front part). We connect to it a free thin white wire, taped with electrical tape to the wiring harness at the entrance to the block. The other end of this wire is taped with electrical tape to the wiring harness that goes to the connectors of the CEBCS unit.
