Gasoline G-Drive from Gazpromneft. Cheating or power increase?

G-Drive fuel has been offered on the market for several years now, but many consumers still do not know about it. This is a product that contains special additives. According to the manufacturer, they increase the drive power of a passenger car by 10% or more, help improve the intensity of

There are many analogues of G Drive 95 gasoline. The main ones are Pulsar gasoline, Ecto-95 produced by Lukoil, V-Power developed by Shell. Each of them has its own original composition, including additives. Information about them is difficult to obtain.

The fuel contains additives KEROPUR 3458N (manufactured by BASF) and Afton Hitec 6473 (product of Afton Chemicals). Information about this can be found on the websites of global additive manufacturers.

Testing of G Drive showed advantages over traditional types of gasoline. They, first of all, consist of increasing torque, engine power, and reducing start inertia. These advantages were identified in passenger cars with engine power up to 110 hp. With. On vehicles with direct injection engines, traction increases.

G Drive 95 fuel has characteristics similar to 98 grade gasoline, but is slightly inferior to it. In terms of quality, it corresponds to Euro-5 class. Its advantages include reducing carbon deposits on spark plugs and dirt on engine parts. The additives included in the composition are harmless. When using them, generally accepted precautions must be observed. The main advantage of the fuel is an increase in engine torque and power as a result of a reduction in involuntary losses due to mechanical friction.

Personal opinion (instead of summary)

Mikhail Kolodochkin: “I fill my car exclusively with improved 95-octane gasoline. Including because I saw the dirt being removed from the system with my own eyes - during the experiment. Well, the difference in price with regular gasoline is only a few percent—sharp acceleration and braking takes a lot more out of your wallet.”

The main differences between G-Drive 95 and more common types of fuel mixture

What is the difference between traditional gasoline 95 and G Drive 95? The difference is clearly visible in consumer reviews. She is into the tricks of making the composition. A complex of active additives, primarily additives, increases engine performance and its service life. They also help improve the vehicle's wear protection.

Gazpromneft fuel has some differences from traditional gasoline. The effectiveness of the composition lies in preventing excessive friction of engine parts and achieving its productive and uniform operation. So:

  1. Improved fuel helps increase the power of the internal combustion engine by 10-12%. It improves the acceleration dynamics of the car and differs from traditional gasoline in providing more reliable protection of parts from wear. The active additives included in the complex reduce deposits on the injector. The vehicle retains its factory parameters longer, increasing the service life of the vehicle.
  2. For passenger cars with high mileage, GDrive improves the performance of the internal combustion engine. It contains anti-corrosion additives, they protect the engine from destruction. As a result, the costs of its repair and maintenance are reduced.
  3. Gasoline from Gazpromneft reduces the cost of refueling a car. This is possible due to the reduction in its consumption during combustion in the internal combustion engine. In addition, the amount of harmful impurities in exhaust gases is reduced.

We decided to test the new product not only on cars. To do this, we invited biker Andrei Aksenov. He heads the technical assessment and assessment department in the expert room and approached the test drive with all the seriousness inherent in his profession.

Andrey arrived at the gas station on a Harley Davidson Sportster. Aksenov modified the bike’s engine so that it accelerates from 80 to 120 km/h in 2 seconds. This is the fastest Sportster in Siberia. On it in 2015, he drove 1,723 km in 22 hours, thus completing. In 2018.

Anna Zaikova

The biker evaluated the new gasoline not only subjectively, but also based on the readings of the on-board computer. It took into account the temperature of the cylinder heads and fuel efficiency - the ratio of the volume of fuel mixture consumed to engine volume.

Aksenov was critical. He already had a negative experience: he once drove a Honda Fit from Primorye and filled up the small car with some premium fuel at one of the local gas stations. The result is that fuel consumption on the highway increased from 6 to 10 liters, and green soot remained on the spark plugs.

Aksenov usually fills his motorcycle with AI-95. “I try not to pour low-octane,” he says. “And nowadays 92 is already low-octane.”

Neutral reviews

I've been filling up with 95 g-drive since March-April, I noticed a slight increase in power and increased gas mileage. I connected this with the transition to summer tires and wheels (although in theory it should be the other way around). Since July I started experimenting, filling up with 95 g-drive, filling up with 95 at Belneftekhim or Belarusneft, and so on three times. The average consumption on the AI-95 K5 “Euro” is 0.5-1 liters less, so I think it’s a matter of chance or gasoline

I didn’t notice much in terms of dynamics, but in terms of consumption it really seems to be less, although again, maybe it’s self-hypnosis

Gasoline is better, but also more expensive. The benefits, of course, are greatly exaggerated.

I didn't notice much of a difference. There is nothing to overpay for. Although the overpayment, in general, is 0.5 rubles at Rosneft. Shell has more, but the standard 95 is not cheap there either. Now many gasoline sellers have introduced a similar cartoon into their price lists.

As for other things, I’ll tell anyone who’s really interested. There is no point in pouring G-95 into the carburetor of a “classic”. “It” (fuel) consists of base 95 Omsk gasoline at an oil depot and when sent to a gas station, a special complex of additives is introduced into it. With a one-time refill, you will not see the effect. It is necessary to refuel constantly for a certain time (depending on how intensively you use the car). The detergent properties of the fuel allow you to clean the fuel system and in the process all the dirt will settle in the fuel filters. This may cause the pressure in the fuel system to drop and thereby make it difficult to start the engine. This can be solved simply by replacing the filter. And later you may notice a difference. I hope this information will be useful to you.

The reasons for the disappearance of AI-95 at Astrakhan gas stations have been revealed

At gas stations of the Gazprom network in the Astrakhan region, problems with AI-95 gasoline are still observed. After a brief appearance, he disappeared again. So, today our correspondent managed to find it only at one gas station in the network - located in the village of Rychansky. Of the four gas stations in the regional center that I visited today, there was no “ninety-fifth” at any of them.

The price of AI-95 at Gazprom gas stations, where it is available, meanwhile, has increased once again in a week (by 35 kopecks) and is 48 rubles 50 kopecks per liter. The fuel shortage extends far beyond the Astrakhan region - there is not enough “ninety-fifth”, in particular, at gas stations of the same network in the Krasnodar Territory, and in the Lipetsk and Voronezh regions. And this is not surprising - after all, the reasons are far from local in nature.

At the moment, there is a shortage of AI-95 gasoline throughout the Russian market. According to the President of the Fuel Market Association, Alexey Trepalin, a number of factors led to it. The first is the coronavirus pandemic. Due to restrictive measures in early April, the demand for fuel dropped sharply and factories had to reduce its production volumes and undergo preventive maintenance. At the end of April, demand began to grow sharply - and supply could not keep up with it. Which automatically leads to a shortage of fuel and an increase in wholesale prices for it.

The situation was complicated by a ban on fuel imports from Belarus and Kazakhstan, as well as a decrease in the percentage of mandatory fuel sales on the exchange. The latter means that independent companies now have fewer opportunities to buy fuel - large vertically integrated oil companies began to keep it for themselves, for sale on their own networks.

According to the president of the Fuel Market Association, the state now needs to make decisions to normalize the situation. Otherwise, this could lead to social consequences, both due to a shortage of fuel and a sharp rise in its prices. In particular, independent fuel companies insist on the return of the previous mandatory percentage of fuel sales on the exchange, the lifting of the ban on fuel imports and the revision of the damper mechanism.

Advantages and disadvantages. Analyzing reviews

Car owners note that real G-Drive fuel can only be refueled at gas stations from Gazprom Neft (at franchise gas stations the authenticity of this fuel is not guaranteed).

The main conclusions that can be drawn by summing up the rating of fuel in user reviews:

  1. G-Drive gasoline is neither bad nor good in itself. Its declared advantages (according to the general opinion of the majority of car owners who write reviews about this type of fuel) are somewhat overstated, although the overpayment per liter is not so great.
  2. The effectiveness of G-Drive depends on the brand of car: for example, what is noticeable on a Suzuki, imperceptible on a Toyota, etc. Which is understandable - leading car manufacturers do not calculate the characteristics of installed engines for a specific brand of fuel, but are guided by general principles - durability, reliability, efficiency.

  1. The additives contained in the type of fuel in question allow, to some extent, the dissolution of the resins contained in gasoline, and are not completely removed from its composition due to the peculiarities of the technological process (and, mainly, due to the insufficiently strict current quality standards).
  2. The choice in favor of G-Drive gasoline is due and justified for those motorists who have purchased new equipment and are filling their car with this gasoline for the first time. If the car has been refueled with another type of fuel for quite a long time, then a lot of time may pass for the additives to take effect, during which no significant improvements in the car’s performance may occur.
  3. The use of G Drive (regardless of the brand) is noticeable only with frequent changes in the vehicle's driving mode, in which it is the acceleration time that is important. For large cities with eternal traffic jams, the use of this fuel is ineffective.
  4. It is better to match gasoline to the engine than to match the engine to gasoline.

Why has Jidrive already started being sold in the EU? It seems they sell fuel with less sulfur... The main thing is from which refinery the fuel comes to us. It’s no secret that they wrote about pumping out “contaminated” oil and were going to use it to produce fuel for us, since they don’t take that kind of thing over the hill. I don’t know who agrees to add such oil, but I think all of ours will, if they haven’t already. Here is the July news: www.finanz.ru/novosti/akt…rossiyskie-npz-1028363969

I've been riding it for as long as I can remember.

It looks like Gazpromneft G-DRIVE 95 gasoline is normal. You can pour it. Every day. Detergent additives used: - BASF KEROPUR 3458N A simple and popular detergent additive that also has anti-corrosion properties and binds water. There are no friction modifiers. — Afton Hitek 6437L Used in Lukoil Ecto fuel. An advanced analogue of KEROPUR 3458N, with the addition of a friction modifier. The simplest additive with a friction modifier. Applicable since at least 2009. — Afton Hitek 6473 Used in Gazpromneft G-Drive fuel. Judging by the name, it is more advanced compared to Hitek 6437L (Lukoil Ecto). — BASF Keropur 3619T Another detergent additive with a friction modifier. Used in BP Ultimate and TNK Pulsar gasoline. Relatively new, not used until 2009, like Hitek 6437L and 6473. Added to gasoline together with 3458N. Pulsar and Ultimate contain the same advanced additive packages, but BP has 25% higher additive content in line with the company's marketing strategy.

G-Drive 100. Powerful start

Which country has the cheapest gasoline? top 10 countries

In September, sales of gasoline with an octane number of 100 started at Gazpromneft gas stations in Novosibirsk. The octane number of motor gasoline is an indicator of its detonation resistance. It characterizes the ability of motor gasoline to resist self-ignition during compression. The high detonation resistance of gasoline ensures its normal combustion in all engine operating modes. . This is a new product for Russian drivers, but it has been successfully sold at gas stations of Gazprom Neft subsidiaries in European countries since 2015.

The transition from the usual 98-grade gasoline to 100-grade gasoline was made possible thanks to the systemic modernization of the Gazprom Neft refinery. The introduction of modern, sophisticated technological processes has made it possible to produce commercial gasoline with a higher octane number. The first industrial batch of the new high-octane motor gasoline G-Drive 100 was produced by the Omsk Refinery. This fall, 600 tons of the new product have already been sent to consumers at gas stations in the Novosibirsk region.

Alexander Krylov, regional sales director, Gazprom Neft:

G-Drive 100 is a product of the highest quality, designed for modern engines, which for the most part are adapted to run on gasoline with an octane rating of 95 and higher. Automakers rarely limit the upper limit on the octane number, since it is on gasoline with a higher octane number that the engine operates stably and reliably, increasing power characteristics.

Before being introduced to the Russian market, the characteristics of G-Drive 100 gasoline were confirmed by the leading industry institute VNII NP, and its compliance with European fuel quality standards was confirmed by the largest international laboratory SGS.

Positive reviews

strange...but among my fellow sanitation workers there is a different opinion. The dynamics are better, the engine somehow spins up easier, and the consumption is a little less than on a regular 95.

As they explained to me, as soon as you fill the tank full, the dynamics are immediately felt, and then when you get used to it, it becomes the norm (well, this is understandable).

I bought it new.. I ran 35 thousand in 8 months. Of these, 30 are on 95 g drive.

The flight is excellent, I did not change the spark plugs. No complaints. Lil 95th both in Belarus and in Europe. There isn't much difference.

At the beginning of 2022, problems began with starting a cold engine in my old Lada Kalina. The battery and starter were in good condition. Injector diagnostics revealed insufficient fuel supply from the injectors to the cylinders of an unheated engine. The car service center pulled out the injectors and began checking them on a stand. The injectors turned out to be in good condition, but all but one were clogged and barely passed fuel.

After completing the repair, the master asked me what kind of gasoline and at what gas stations I fill up. I replied that I only fill up with AI 95 and usually do it at a Tatneft gas station near my home. To which the car service technician replied that my injectors were coked due to poor fuel quality. He further shared his experience in engine repair and named me problematic gas stations whose clients also become his clients, noting that in his practice he has never washed the injectors after Gazprom gas stations, and he himself refuels his car only at Gazprom gas stations. .

I had no reason not to trust the judgment of this specialist, and from then on I decided to refuel only at Gazprom, fortunately there were enough gas stations in the city and the surrounding area. And for six months now I have been a regular customer of the Gazprom gas station and have never regretted it. Of course, AI 95 gasoline is more expensive there than from Tatneft, but cheaper than from Lukoil. The main thing is that I am calm about my engine and no longer have any problems starting it in the morning. And the discount card gives me the opportunity to receive a discount when refueling depending on the amount of gasoline that I poured into the tank last month.

There are also a number of other nice little things. For example, at Gazprom gas stations, gas attendants are on duty at the pumps, cashiers are friendly and offer coffee or something to snack on. For a long time, there was a promotion under which motorists who refueled on weekends were given an additional 1% discount to the discount card already available. In general, they always have some kind of promotions there, just have time to participate. Now for every 300 rubles. the receipt gives you chips that can be pasted into a special booklet issued there, and, having accumulated a certain number of chips, you can buy Swissoak accessories at a gas station at a discount of up to 80%.

Hello! I would like to talk about my experience of using 95 G-drive from Gazprom Neft gas stations. I really liked this gasoline. Gasoline was given a promotion saying it turns a car into a race car and cleans the engine.

I can’t say anything about cleaning the engine, but the car drives better than a regular 95 . This manifests itself as follows:

— the car picks up speed faster uphill;

— on climbs there is no such jerk, as if the machine is heavy, it climbs easier;

— when the air conditioner is turned on, power is lost to a lesser extent compared to regular gasoline; the air conditioner being turned on has almost no effect on the operation of the gas pedal;

— when you press the gas pedal, the car starts moving sharper, faster.

Of course, everything is carried individually by each machine, but

my car runs more readily on G-drive. I try not to use it always, because I heard that the engine should rest from such fuel.

The price for G is higher than for AI-95; if you fill up for a large volume, you end up with a noticeable overpayment. But sometimes you can please your iron friend

The only thing I don’t like is that at many large Gazprom Neft gas stations, drivers are left with no choice. You can only fill up with G Drive , and for regular 95 you need to go to another gas station in the network. You can read a separate review about Gazpromneft gas stations

I am the owner of a 2003 Toyota Corolla. With a 1.4 liter engine. According to the requirements of the car manufacturer, it is necessary to use gasoline with an octane number of at least 95. For the sake of experiment, I filled in 92 gasoline and realized that the car “does not drive” on it. Several years ago, in our area (Nizhny Novgorod region), a Gazpromneft gas station appeared with G Drive gasoline in the range sold. As a lover of experiments, I, of course, could not pass up this new product. I specially searched the tank 'to the light bulb' and started testing. According to the manufacturer, this gasoline increases engine power by up to 12% and reduces the car's acceleration time to 100 km/h by 1.8 seconds. In addition, detergents and friction-reducing additives are added to gasoline. Having filled up the G-drive to full gasoline, I started the engine and began to listen to the sound of its operation. And what did I hear? It seemed to me that the engine began to run a little quieter and smoother. Having heard enough, I moved on to road tests)) When driving in the low speed zone and in low gears, I did not notice any difference in power and dynamic characteristics. But as the engine speed increased in the range above 3-4 thousand rpm, I felt a clear and sharp increase in power and acceleration, which was vaguely reminiscent of the effect of turning on a turbine on engines equipped with it. After the experiment, I was satisfied with the result and switched to permanent use of G-drive gasoline. During the next maintenance, when it was time to change the spark plugs, I visually assessed their condition. The carbon deposits on the spark plugs were light gray in color, which corresponded to the standard condition for used spark plugs. This indirectly indicates the quality of gasoline. I can’t say that the advantages declared by the manufacturer are 100% consistent with advertising, but the positive effect of using G-drive is, in my opinion, obvious. The price of this gasoline is stinging. As of June 2022, one liter in our area costs 40 rubles 25 kopecks. If your financial situation allows you, feel free to switch to this fuel, the gasoline is good.

Off-road test

Gazprom Neft has been supporting the Silk Road Rally for several years, providing its organizers with the opportunity to refuel at their gas stations during the race. But this time the company became not just a fuel partner, but a real participant in the rally, sending a fuel tanker filled with five tons of Diesel Opti along with the caravan. His combat mission included refueling media crews with famous journalists and bloggers on board who agreed to participate in the experiment.

“This was the first such experience for us,” says Yana Belyakova, Deputy General Director for Marketing at Gazpromneft Center. “Of course, we were confident in the quality of our fuel, but here it had to be tested under extreme loads, and then broadcast the results in real time.”

For the purity of the experiment, four completely new Land Rover cars were taken as test cars. During the two weeks of the rally, they traveled almost 10 thousand kilometers - from Moscow to Xi'an, China. For most of the way, to the border with China, the cars were refueled exclusively with Diesel Opti, and for the Chinese section of the race they stocked up on the already native fuel to the maximum. “Last year I went to the Silk Road, and in Kazakhstan our car stopped working due to poor-quality diesel fuel,” famous autoblogger Anton “Avtoman” Vorotnikov shares his impressions of participating in the race. “This year we were accompanied by a fuel truck with a Diesel Opti, and the car drove perfectly. On one stretch, I even set a personal record for fuel consumption: 5.7 liters per 100 km. This is an impressive result for a large SUV.”

No less impressive was the result of checking the fuel system of the cars after the race, when they were delivered back to Moscow. Here, in addition to standard diagnostics, technical experts examined the condition of the fuel, oil and air filters and checked the oil. And then we carried out additional computer diagnostics. Investigations showed that the fuel system and engine remained as new. This is exactly the result for which the experiment was started. “We chose the Silk Road as a universal platform for testing fuel before introducing it to the mass market, and we were not mistaken,” says Yana Belyakova. “Diesel Opti has proven that it can be poured not only into trucks that will endure anything, but also into expensive SUVs with a sensitive fuel system.”

Having been tested by Siberian frosts, summer heat and the off-road conditions of Eurasia, the innovative fuel will replace conventional diesel fuel at all Russian gas stations of the Gazprom Neft network by the end of the year.
