For the first time, the most modern domestic all-terrain cross-hatchback Lada XRay Cross was presented to car enthusiasts during the Moscow Motor Show in 2022. Its main differences from the standard XRay were its increased ground clearance, plastic body kit, more powerful front bumper and 17-inch wheels. The 2022 Lada Xray has three powertrains :

The least powerful version of the XRay accelerates from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in 11.9 seconds (manual), a modification with a 114-horsepower engine in 10.3 seconds (manual), and the top version with a 1.8-liter engine in combination with a “robot.” - in 10.9 seconds.
The base engine for the X-ray will be a VAZ 16-valve unit with a volume of 1.6 liters . The engine power will be 106 hp , and it will be coupled with a French manual gearbox JR5, assembled at AVTOVAZ. It was decided to abandon the VAZ “mechanics” because of its noise. The second engine for the 2022 LADA XRAY is “a combination of Nissan’s H4 engine, also localized at VAZ, and the same JR5 “mechanics.” Obviously, we are talking about a 1.6-liter petrol unit with a capacity of 110 hp . The suspension of the new VAZ product was borrowed from the Renault Sandero (the new Lada is being built on the basis of the hatch), while it has different springs and shock absorbers, as a result of which the XRAY “completely lost the legendary Logan’s rolliness.”

For domestic motorists, the new 2022 Lada X-Ray Cross is available with two types of power units – a 1.6-liter engine with a power output of 113 “horses” or a 1.8-liter engine that develops power at 122 horsepower.
The first type of engine is a product developed by the French concern Renault-Nissan and works in conjunction with a continuously variable transmission. In this version, the car can accelerate to “hundreds” in 12.8 seconds, and gasoline costs will be 7.3 liters. As the basis for the production of cars, the developer used the B0 platform, created as a result of joint work by Renault and AvtoVAZ specialists. Thanks to the use of this trolley, the cross-hatch received an independent multi-link with MacPherson struts at the front and a rear torsion bar. Not being a classic city SUV, the Lada XRay Cross turned out to be a fairly maneuverable cross-hatch, and the presence of serious ground clearance allows the owner of this model to overcome not only minor bumps on the road, but also serious obstacles without any problems.
Probably the main drawback of the model, due to which the car cannot be classified as a full-fledged SUV, is the lack of an all-wheel drive system. The presence of 17-inch wheels and high ground clearance give no reason to doubt that a cross-country domestic hatchback can solve many problems associated with poor-quality road surfaces and off-road conditions. And only the lack of an all-wheel drive system can lead to the fact that overcoming difficult conditions will be a serious obstacle for the driver.
