To gain free access to the desired location, you need to drive the Volkswagen Polo into a pit in the garage or onto an overpass.

We remove the pressure: with the engine turned off, from the fuse block (located under the steering wheel) we remove the element responsible for the functioning of the fuel pump - No. 36.

Now we start the engine and wait for the remaining fuel to be used up. When it ends, the car will stall. After stopping the engine, you need to turn on the ignition for 5 seconds. That’s it, there is no pressure in the fuel system and you can start removing the filter.

1. Using a flat-head screwdriver, press out the fastening of the fuel drain pipe. Then we disconnect the main fitting and hoses (inlet and outlet).

2. We disconnect the handbrake cable from the clamp so that it does not interfere.

3. Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the fasteners and clamps.

4. Carefully remove the filter from its seat.

5. We drain the remainder from the gas line and proceed to installing a new filter element.

To fill the system, pour a little gasoline into the new filter and insert it into the seat. The filter is installed in the reverse order.

The arrow marked on the surface of the filter should be directed towards the front of the car.

The tips of the lines must be installed on the filter fittings until they snap into place.

Now all that remains is to replace the fuse and start the car. It may not start right away, because... there is no pressure in the system, but after several attempts everything will definitely work out.
