Replacing the Speed Sensor Drive VAZ 2114
The procedure for replacing the speed sensor on a VAZ 2114
To measure speed while driving, cars with internal combustion engines equipped with carburetors were equipped with a mechanically driven speedometer. This drive was located in the gearbox housing. Through a rotating cable, the readings were sent to a speed indicator located on the dashboard. Electric speedometers began to be installed on the VAZ 2114 with an injector. Speed data is transmitted to them from speed sensors based on new operating principles. Modern DS use the Hall effect.

Speedometer drive: types and differences
A speedometer is an important element in cars, as well as several other vehicles, as it is necessary to monitor speed in order not to violate traffic rules.
But this is not the last function of this device. All possible speedometers have a high-speed magnetic unit; due to the rotation of the magnets, a flow is formed, it moves through the coil, thereby facilitating the induction of eddy currents. They thereby begin to create more magnetic fields. They interact with each other, the needle of the device moves along the frequency scale, with the help of this the magnet rotates.
All speedometers are divided into three categories.
- Mechanical speedometers.
- Electromechanical speedometers.
- Electronic speedometers.
Mechanical speedometers. In this type of speedometer, the process of speed measurement and indication occurs thanks to a mechanical device. A gear is used as sensors, which is connected to the secondary shaft of the gearbox; this is the speed unit with an arrow indicator and the drum counter. Previously, speedometers were used in the form of a drum and tape. But they stopped using them quite a long time ago.
Electromechanical speedometers. In these devices, speed is measured using various electronic or electromechanical sensors that are connected to the gearbox. The speed is indicated by a milliammeter or the speed unit of a mechanical speedometer, and the distance is indicated by a counting drum, which drives a stepper motor.

Vehicle speed sensor VAZ 2114
If there are no speedometer readings on your VAZ 2114, you check the fuses and then accurately diagnose a breakdown of the speed sensor. In this case, unstable idling or sluggish response to the accelerator pedal sends the car owner to diagnose engine sensors. And the reason may not be in them at all. Although the speed sensor on the VAZ 2114 is located in the manual transmission, it may be the culprit of problems that are not related to the gearbox.
This small sensor does more than just count the vehicle's mileage and determine its instantaneous speed.
Its data is used by the electronic engine control unit. The following engine parameters are adjusted using the speedometer sensor:
- idle speed: the ECU compares the crankshaft speed with the actual speed of the car;
- correct formation of the proportion of the fuel-air mixture;
- engine power at the current time;
- fuel consumption, especially when coasting: when the throttle is closed and the speed is fixed, fuel does not flow to the injectors.
Reason 1. Broken wiring
In fact, a non-working speedometer does not affect the operation of the car in any way. However, when driving within the city, where dozens of control cameras are installed, it is difficult to track the speed without this device. Experienced drivers can easily determine speed “by feel” and by engine speed (via the tachometer). In any case, driving with a faulty device is unpleasant, given that it is always in front of the driver's eyes. One of the reasons why the speedometer on a VAZ 2114 does not work may be a broken wiring. To check for a possible malfunction, perform the steps described in detail in the video below.
Briefly, the process of dialing plus and minus looks like this:
The verification process does not take much time, but it gives a more detailed picture of the breakdown. If there are no results during the check and the lamp does not light up, the problem is a broken wiring. In this case, the malfunction can be eliminated by replacing the wiring leading to the speedometer or restoring it.
Design and principle of operation
Three generations of speed sensors were installed on injection engines of the tenth VAZ family.
- Electromechanical with a cable stretched to the speedometer. The torque was transmitted through a gear drive from the gearbox. The most capricious option in operation and unreliable in indications.
- Electromechanical without cable. The rotation transmission was still gear-based, the electrical signal was transmitted through wires.
Both of these sensors transmitted output shaft speed using complex mechanics that often failed.
Let's look at this design in more detail.
The Hall effect is that when a concentrated electric field passes through a magnetic field, an electrical impulse occurs. To “materialize” it, a semiconductor is placed in a magnetic field, at the ends of which a completely measurable voltage appears. This impulse is the same signal that is sent to the electronic speedometer and engine control unit. The speed sensor connection diagram clearly demonstrates the principle of operation of the speed sensor on a VAZ 2114 car.
As you can see, the signal goes not only to the speedometer unit.
In accordance with the operating principle of the Hall system, one revolution of the sensor shaft generates one electrical pulse. At the same time, there are no unnecessary mechanics: only the input shaft of the device connected to the output shaft of the manual transmission.
How impulses are converted into speed and mileage
There is a known quantity: the circumference of a car tire. Of course, this system works correctly only when installing standard tires and normal tire pressure. The ECU and sensor controller take readings and convert them into mileage. That is, the odometer has already received its share of information. Divide this value by time - we get the speed of movement.
The principle of operation of the speed meter for the VAZ 2110 injection engine
So, why is the device in question located vertically if the axis of rotation of the manual transmission drive shaft is precisely horizontal? The fact is that the rotating element of the device is connected to the gearbox shaft not directly, but through a transition rotation transformer. Using a worm gear, horizontal rotation with a certain gear ratio is transformed to the mechanical part of the speed sensor.
The shaft end of the electronic part of the sensor, which we can see from the outside of the gearbox, is inserted into the adapter receiving sleeve.
The system operates according to the Hall principle. The moving parts of the Hall elements are located on the shaft inside the housing. When rotating, the counter part (in the form of an inductor) generates pulses synchronous with the rotation of the wheel. Since the circumference of the tire is known, the electronic module converts each revolution into a distance traveled. This is how mileage is calculated. It remains to divide this figure by a unit of time, and we get the speed of the car at any time.
Signs of a malfunction of the VAZ 2114 speed sensor
The most obvious symptom is the speedometer needle and odometer.
- the speedometer does not show speed or provides deliberately incorrect data;
- The numbers on the odometer do not change.
These breakdowns clearly indicate that the sensor is not working.
In addition, there are signs that overlap with other failures of engine control systems:
- when the car is stationary, the idle speed fluctuates;
- when coasting with the accelerator pedal released, the idle speed is too high;
- fuel consumption has increased;
- During intense acceleration, dips in traction are observed.
Why does the speed sensor break? This is due to operating conditions. Constant vibrations, exposure to reagents from the road surface, humidity.
Reason 3. Failure of the dashboard
If on the VAZ 2114 model on the instrument panel none of the indicators equipped on it work (speedometer, mileage indicator, tachometer, fuel quantity and coolant temperature indicators), then the first thing the car owner needs to do is check the integrity of fuse F3 , which is located in the mounting block under the hood. Another option why the tidy does not work is that the tracks on the board have burned out. The situation is not critical, because in this model it is removable and is cheap. Also, do not discount the option of a power outage to the panel. In this situation, it is better to contact an experienced auto electrician.
If there is no panel light, check the brightness adjustment. The minimum brightness of the backlight may have been accidentally set.

How to check the speed sensor
The most reliable way is a diagnostic scanner. You can contact a specialized service center and at the same time check the rest of the car’s systems. If you have a primitive error reader, such as the Chinese ELM 327, and a diagnostic program on your smartphone, this is quite enough. Scanner errors: P0500 or P0503.
In principle, owners of used VAZ cars should install an advanced on-board computer that can diagnose such faults.
Finally, the easiest way is a multimeter. To perform the check, you need to know where the speed detection sensor is located on the VAZ 2114.
You don't have to climb into a hole to access the device. In the area of the inner CV joint of the right wheel, under the throttle valve, you can see a wire going to the gearbox. It will lead us to the desired sensor.
- First you need to remove the connector and check the integrity of the wiring and cleanliness of the contacts. We clean off the corrosion with fine sandpaper and resolder the broken wire.
- Raise one of the front wheels with a jack, the gearshift lever is in neutral. We connect the tester probes to pins 2 and 3 in kOhm measurement mode. By turning the wheel, you can cause the sensor resistance to change within 3–10 kOhm.
- You can remove the sensor and check it using the so-called bench method. To do this, you need to supply power to it and connect the multimeter to the negative and signal connectors. We put a tube on the sensor shaft and rotate it as quickly as possible. The device readings (voltage) should change in time with the rotation.
- When rotating the shaft by hand, there should be no biting, the force is small and uniform. If the shaft rotates tightly, there is a mechanical failure inside.
How to diagnose a problem
There are only 3 ways to check the tens speed sensor. One of them involves the use of a control lamp, the other two are based on a circuit.
If everything is fine with the power supply, proceed directly to the diagnosis itself.
Method No. 1 - carried out according to the above scheme without removing the sensor from the car. Jack up the front wheels. Using regular wires (if you have an assistant) or with alligator clips (if you don’t have an assistant), connect the voltmeter to the speed sensor, not forgetting to supply current to it. Place the gearbox in 5th gear and rotate the wheel. If everything is in order with the sensor, in response to these actions you will see changes in the voltage of the pulse contact - between the output and ground - the higher the speed, the greater the voltage. The range of changes is 0.5-10V.
Method No. 2 - carried out according to the above diagram on a sensor removed from the car. Remove the speed sensor (how to do this will be described in detail below in the instructions for replacing it). Using wires, again repeat the above diagram. Take a tube, pliers or any other handy item that allows you to rotate the sensor axis (the main thing here is not to forget about safety precautions), and rotate the sensor around its axis. The resulting multimeter readings (from 0.5V to 10V) will indicate that everything is in order with the sensor.
Method number 3 – “light bulb test”. Applies to the speed sensor without removing it from the vehicle. Using a jack, raise the drive wheels on the ground. According to the diagram below, connect a light bulb to the element being diagnosed. Place the gearshift lever in 5th gear and rotate the wheel. The light should blink. If this does not happen (if there is voltage in the network, of course), the sensor should be replaced.
The test showed a negative result - the unit will have to be changed
To remove and install, you will need one tool: a 22mm wrench. The nut should be unscrewed with caution: the thread may become stuck due to unfavorable operating conditions. The VAZ 2114 speed sensor is replaced after cleaning the “seat” on the gearbox housing. Be sure to check the condition of the wire insulation and the integrity of the connector. Buy a branded sensor from a trusted supplier.
Before connecting the connector, it is necessary to lubricate the contacts with electrical compound. This will protect the contacts from corrosion for a long time. Be sure to secure the signal cable so that it does not fray due to vibration.

Replacing the Speed Sensor Drive VAZ 2114
The procedure for replacing the speed sensor on a VAZ 2114 To measure speed while driving, cars with internal combustion engines equipped with carburetors were equipped with a mechanically driven speedometer.
The speedometer on the VAZ 2114 does not work
If the speedometer on a VAZ-2114 has stopped working, first of all you need to find the cause of the breakdown, there may be several of them, but, as practice shows, most often the speed sensor installed on the gearbox fails. You can find the device next to the right inner CV joint. The sensor must be screwed onto the drive housing and consist of two gears made of plastic.
The on-board computer allows you to check the operation of the speed sensor; to do this, you need to switch it to self-diagnosis mode. If, after completing the test, the computer displays error P0500 in the operation of the speed sensor, this means that the sensor has stopped sending a signal to the controller (on the VAZ 2115 the speedometer does not work with the same symptoms). That is, the cause of the breakdown is known, and it may lie in the lack of contact in the detachable block, which sometimes happens as a result of water getting under the housing. Either the problem is a break in the wire leading to the sensor, or a lack of voltage in the power contact.
An on-board computer is convenient, but when the speedometer on a VAZ 2114 does not work, it cannot always give an adequate answer. So we check the sensor with our own hands.
DS verification procedure:
- Open the hood of your car;
- Remove the adsorber for convenience;
- Find the wire in the area of the STRUS that goes directly to the sensor;
- Find the device itself, located under the throttle assembly.
After you manage to find and get to the sensor, you need to inspect the device and check the functionality of the device. The essence of the check in this case is a visual inspection of the rod; on the “original” sensor, the manufacturer installs a plastic rod, which often breaks; in addition to the plastic rod, the plastic drive gear located in it can also break, the teeth of which can be cut off, which naturally affects at sensor operation.
In general, initially, without waiting for the sensor to break down, all plastic parts should be replaced by more reliable ones made of metal. That is, by installing a metal rod and gears, you can easily prevent the possibility of regular replacement of the device. When you change the device, take into account the color of the gears; it is known that the 14 VAZ model is equipped with units that have different volumes, and the speedometer drive numbers change depending on the different gear ratios of the main pair. That is, the color of the gears must certainly be identical.
After checking the device, it is worth ringing the contacts in the block in order to find an open circuit in the electrical circuit; it does not hurt to measure the voltage of all contacts. For testing, it is convenient to use a multimeter, which is sold in any specialized auto store; to carry out work in this case, select the operating mode of the device – “voltmeter”.
After checking the contacts and sensor, you should check the controller if you have the knowledge to do this, otherwise you should seek help from specialists. In general, when searching for the cause of a speedometer malfunction, it is always advisable to start only with a visual inspection, and only then proceed to checking the chain and other tricks.
Replacing the speed sensor VAZ 2114, VAZ 2115
It is quite easy to replace the speed sensor on a VAZ 2114, as well as on a VAZ 2115, with your own hands; this procedure is completely identical to the procedure for replacing a speed sensor on a VAZ 2110.
Before proceeding with the sensor replacement procedure, check for broken wires. To perform the work you will need the following tools:
- flat and Phillips screwdrivers;
- pliers;
- a set of keys.
Depending on the model of the sensor itself, some additional tools may be required.
To avoid trouble, start by disconnecting the terminals on the battery, then remove the air filter and intake pipe from the car, then the terminal from the sensor. If you use a speedometer cable drive, you must disconnect it from the sensor.
Carefully clean the place where the sensor is installed from all debris and dirt, then pick up the tool and remove the sensor itself by unscrewing the fastening nut, which can be unscrewed either with a twenty-two wrench or even by hand.
In the case of using the third type of speed sensor, which the car manufacturer installs in the gearbox itself, it is necessary to clean the device of oil, and after removing the device, the seat should be closed. When installing a new sensor, the procedure must be repeated, naturally, in the reverse order.
Connection procedure and possible malfunctions of the VAZ 2114 speed sensor
The DS on the VAZ 2114 is installed in the receiving socket of the speedometer drive in the upper part of the manual transmission housing. It can be accessed both from above, with the hood open, and from below the car, when installing it on the inspection hole.
DS performs several functions, such as:
- transmission of data to the speedometer about the speed of the vehicle
- support for regular activities of RHH
- transmitting signals to the ECU to maintain speed corresponding to the driving mode
In connection with the tasks performed, it is connected to the controller and speedometer through a mounting block in the engine department. In the electronic circuit, the DS is activated through a fuse installed in the cabin on the heater fan relay.
If there are defects in the speed sensor strip, the following signals light up on the car's on-board display:
- P0500 - this error indicates the absence of a signal from the DS
- P0503 - this error appears on the screen when the signal from the DS is unbalanced, interrupted
The occurrence of similar errors calls on the driver to pay attention to this area in the electrical circuit of the motor, and often their prerequisite is the absence or oxidation of contacts. However, if secondary signs of DS failure appear, then there is a need to check or replace it. These signs may include:
- unbalanced operation or complete failure of the speed indicator on the dashboard
- floating speed at idle, the engine may turn off automatically
- increased fuel consumption
- reduced unit power
These signs may appear during failures in other car systems, for example, in the fuel system, but if an error appears on the computer screen and any of the listed signs at the same time, you should check the performance of the DS.
- First you need to check the presence of contacts in the circuits and on the devices, as well as the integrity of the wiring in the electronic circuit of the DS, by ringing it.
- To check the sensor without removing it, you need to place the car on a level platform, secure it with mechanical blocks and use a jack to lift the left front wheel. Connect the voltmeter prepared in advance to the DC contacts and rotate the raised wheel with your hands. While spinning the wheel, you need to watch the voltmeter readings. If the voltage and frequency shown by the device increase in accordance with the wheel speed, then the sensor is operational.
- There is no need to remove the DS with one more method. A “control light” is prepared in advance. Using a jack, the left wheel is raised and the “control” contact wires are connected to the DC contacts. If the light comes on when the wheel spins, then the DS is working.
- If you resort to the third method, then in this case you need to remove the sensor and check the input and output voltage with a voltmeter.
Replacing the VAZ 2109/14 speedometer drive and their modifications
Hello everyone, in this video I will talk about replacing the drive
speedometer for injection modifications at the front...
Speedometer drive 2110 2115
Video summary on replacing the speed sensor
on VAZ
2110—2112 with an injection engine. Personal experience….
Malfunctions
Signs of a broken DS are:
- incorrect speedometer readings (chaotic needle movement);
- problems with the engine idling;
- error message (code 0500, 0501);
- “floating” speed;
- “failures” during acceleration;
- increased fuel consumption.
DS malfunctions include:
- lack of contact in the connector;
- sensor wiring break;
- breakdown of the mechanical drive of the sensor;
- failure of the sensitive element (for electronic DS).
After checking the contacts and wiring and making sure that everything is in order, you need to remove the sensor from its seat and replace it with a new one. If the sensor is not replaced, the ECU will “force” the engine to operate in emergency mode, which will lead to increased fuel consumption, as well as wear and tear on other elements of the fuel system.
The speed sensor itself is inexpensive: mechanical versions cost 300-500 rubles. Replacing it at a service station will cost approximately 200-300 rubles.
However, it is not necessary to overpay for the work. The speed sensor can be easily replaced independently in 15-20 minutes.
When purchasing a DS, you need to pay attention to its manufacturer and the material used to make the rod. A rod made of plastic may fail after just a few days. By the way, if the rod falls apart, you will have to disassemble the gearbox.
Replacing the VAZ 2114 speed sensor with your own hands
After the contacts, wires and the DS itself have been tested and it has been determined that the device does not work, you need to make a decision about replacing it. For a car owner who is not a car repair specialist, this work is easy to do, but still, you need to look into the car repair and operation department and see how to change the speed sensor on a VAZ 2114.
Before work, you need to prepare the necessary tool. Keys for “10”, “14” and “21” will be useful. In addition, you will need a rag to clean the manual transmission housing in the DS area from dirt and oil.
You also need to purchase a new speed sensor for the VAZ 2114 in advance. It has a catalog number - 2111-3843010. The average cost for a speed sensor 2114 is about three hundred rubles.
Reason 2. Failure of the speed sensor
The age of the car or its operation in poor road conditions leads to the fact that many components of the car are subject to wear faster. The speedometer sensor is also not reliable. The absence of speed readings on the dashboard can be associated with a malfunction of the element itself. Later VAZ models began to be equipped with speedometers of a new type - magnetic. Previously, all cars were equipped exclusively with mechanical devices. The serviceability of the mechanical device can be checked as follows:
Another option for diagnosing a mechanical variant is as follows:
Checking the magnetic type of the device is carried out according to a similar principle:
If the check showed that the sensors do not work, then you now know why the speedometer on the VAZ 2114 stopped working. If, during diagnostics, the speedometer needle twitches, the problem is different. In this case, the fault may lie in the dashboard itself.
How to select a new element and where to look for it on the car
The sensor itself is not repairable, so if problems arise in its operation, it is simply replaced.
But we note that since this model uses several types of sensors, for replacement it is necessary to select exactly the same one as was installed on the car, since different types are not interchangeable.
It is better to do this using the catalog number (2111-3843010), or according to the markings applied to the DS itself. But for this it must first be removed.
Since the sensor operates from the drive rod, its location is at the gearbox. You can find it on the upper plane of the gearbox housing near the differential.
You can also see it from above, looking down at the box in the area of the brake fluid reservoir.
But it is difficult to reach it by hand from the engine compartment, since other elements will interfere. And yet you can reach it, but only to disconnect the chip with the wiring.
If problems arise with the speed sensor, first of all you need to check the wiring for broken or oxidized contacts.
Since the wiring is not secured by anything, interruptions in the operation of the DS are often associated with the wires. If inspection shows that the wiring is normal, then it is necessary to diagnose the sensor itself.
You can check it using a multimeter turned on in voltage measurement mode. To do this, you don’t have to remove it from the car, but simply jack up the wheel and engage 4th gear.
The sensor itself has three terminals: the side ones are ground and the “positive” terminal for supplying voltage to the element. And the central one is pulse, through which signals are sent to the speedometer and ECU.
We connect the multimeter probes to the mass and pulse terminals. Then we ask the assistant to spin the wheel, and we ourselves look at the readings.
If during rotation the voltage value “jumps”, and the higher the speed, the more often “jumps” will occur, then the DC is working properly and the wiring should be checked.
In the same way, you can check the functionality of the new sensor after its installation.
How to fix the problem
Once it has been possible to determine the malfunction of the speed sensor, further actions depend on the reasons that caused this situation. The following solutions are possible:
- Dismantling the sensor and checking it using a multimeter using the above method. If the sensor is faulty, it is most often replaced with a new one, since it is quite difficult to repair it. Some “traditional craftsmen” try to solder flying chip elements manually using a soldering iron. However, this does not always work out, so it is up to the car owner to decide whether to do this or not.
- Check sensor contacts. One of the most popular reasons why the speed sensor does not work is contamination and/or oxidation of its contacts. In this case, it is necessary to inspect them, clean them, and also lubricate them with special lubricants in order to prevent the occurrence of corrosion in the future.
- Check the integrity of the sensor circuit. Simply put, “ring” the corresponding wires using a multimeter. There can be two problems - a short circuit and a complete break in the wires. In the first case, this is caused by damage to the insulation. A short circuit can occur either between individual pairs of wires or between one wire and ground. You need to go through all the options in pairs. If the wire breaks, there will be no contact at all. If there is slight damage to the insulation, it is permissible to use heat-resistant insulating tape to repair the damage. However, it is still better to replace the damaged wire (or the entire harness), since the wires often operate at high temperatures, so there is a high risk of repeated damage. If the wire breaks completely, then, naturally, it needs to be replaced with a new one (or the entire harness).
Sensor repair
Some auto repairmen with electronics repair skills are engaged in restoring the speed sensor on their own. In particular, in the case described above, when under the influence of high temperature the capacitor is soldered off and it begins to short-circuit and pass current.
This procedure consists of disassembling the speed sensor housing to check the functionality of the capacitor and, if necessary, replacing it. As a rule, microcircuits contain Japanese or Chinese capacitors, which can easily be replaced with domestic ones. The main thing is to choose the appropriate parameters - the location of the contacts, as well as its capacity. If the sensor housing is dismountable, everything is simple, you just need to remove the cover in order to get to the capacitor. If the case is non-separable, you need to carefully cut it without damaging the internal components
In addition to the requirements listed above for choosing a capacitor, you also need to pay attention to its size, since after soldering to the board, the sensor housing should be closed again without any problems. You can glue the case using heat-resistant glue
According to reviews from craftsmen who have performed a similar operation, you can save several thousand rubles in this way, since a new sensor is quite expensive.
Electronic speedometers. This is a development of new electromechanical speedometers; the main difference is the replacement of the odometer - in an electronic device it is completely digital.
How to remove the speedometer drive with your own hands - instructions
VAZ 2110
- We support the anti-rollback shoes of the rear wheel, then we need to jack up the front of the car, and then install it on supports.
- On a model with a cable-driven speedometer, remove the fastening pin and disconnect the cable from the gear drive.
- Unscrew the fastening bolt and remove it together with the heat shield.
- Remove the drive with the gear from the crankcase and remove it from the seal ring.
- The gear can be removed from the gearbox housing; be sure to check the condition of the gear; if defects are detected, it must be replaced.
- If there are signs of wear or damage to the gear, the condition of the gear should be checked.
- To remove the gear, release it from the transmission. Then you need to unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the drive gear housing. Then you should remove the drive gear and remove all the adjusting washers.
VAZ 2107
- Using a “13” wrench, you need to unscrew the bolt of the clamp securing the exhaust pipe of the muffler.
- Take a 10mm wrench and unscrew the drive fastening nut.
- Using a 13mm wrench, unscrew the two nuts securing the cross member.
- Then you need to lower the rear of the transmission.
- The pipe section must be moved to the right and then the speedometer drive must be removed from the crankcase hole.
Instructions for removing and replacing the sensor
So, to get to the DS, you need to remove either the adsorber or the air filter housing. It is better to go one way and remove the adsorber, which is secured with 2 bolts.
Disconnect the positive terminal from the battery and unscrew the two nuts securing the adsorber, then lift it up and move it to the side.
The speed sensor will be located at the top of the gearbox next to the dipstick. Disconnect the terminal from the sensor and unscrew it by hand. If you tighten it too much, you will need a 21 wrench.
Having unscrewed the old sensor, we carry out all the necessary diagnostics described below, and reassemble in the reverse order.

Thank you, it hasn’t been working for a long time, I’ll have to look into it, but I’m having the same problem. I tried somehow unscrewing the sensor, but it doesn’t come out and spins endlessly, and what did you hear, maybe it could fall into the box?
I honestly don’t know what could fall into the box.
Well, I read somewhere that when you pull out the drive, it looks like it might fall
I read the same thing, but I still don’t understand. Unless the plastic part comes off and falls into the box. I also read that 2 CV joints cannot be pulled out at the same time, as if something falls.
Damn, now I’m wondering whether to climb or not
Until you climb in you won't know)))

I bought a sensor, installed it, to no avail, but I rocked the car without a sensor; this roller rotates on the drive

Is the gear plastic on the differential or what could it be? still at idle arr. and at first speed the box squeals with a squeal. when the engine is hot or at speeds above 30 km/h it runs quietly.
Remove the cable from the box and fry along the highway from 70 to 140, if there is no cod, then you will wave the cable, if it remains, then there is something wrong with the box.
Installed 3 cables did not help
You take it off the box and fry it. When I had a cable one, I had such a rustling noise from the new one. I immediately took it off and poured engine oil into it through a syringe, after 50 kilometers it was as it should be.
I immediately lubricated the cable for the high panel and installed a new one, maybe the bend was wrong. Well, I'll try to take it off completely tomorrow and drive it

and I took out this rod. exactly the same as in video 2108, it says 11 teeth. teeth are all intact, box without feeler gauge
There could be a shitload of business here. If you're wrong about the cable, then take it off. Maybe you've never changed the oil in it?
I removed the cable, took out this gear (rod) and the oil is visible! you can even touch the oil in it with your finger
thank you, very useful info, I also need to change it, but I couldn’t get around to it, I thought I’d have to remove the box, thanks again
Try it, change it, 100 rubles)
Please give me a link to the video. It doesn't open here
I had this drive break in half, one half remained in the box, it’s difficult to get it out of there, because there is a magnet at the end, it’s good that the box was removed at that moment. turning it over, shook it out and pulled it out with tweezers, changing the cable. drive, the speedometer turned for a couple of kilometers and still doesn’t work, I still haven’t repaired it myself, maybe the gear in the box is worn out, by the way, for some reason the cable fits normally from the classics, but I installed the usual one on a high panel and it turned out to be too short.
