Getting to know the functionality
A stable working Alligator car alarm is suitable for installation on cars of different years of manufacture. For power supply, a voltage of 12 V and a current value of no more than 20 A are required. Control of operating parameters is carried out using a remote pager, which is equipped with a 1.5 V battery.
In security alarm models released after 2022, additional control units and switches are installed.
They provide interaction with other protective modules, but at the same time require the installation of another power source, which consumes 3 V. The driver is in no hurry with installation, because first they discuss the details with a representative of the car dealership. He will tell you what set of options a particular car requires. On a note!
Security systems of this class are not installed on trucks or motorcycles. The reason is that the Alligator security alarm connection diagram here will not withstand a voltage of 24 V.
How to determine the alarm model by key fob
The manufacturer's alarm model Alligator can be determined by the description of the appearance of its key fob:
- TD-350/355. Remote controls in this series have a vertical screen orientation. The device is equipped with a non-removable antenna, which is part of the housing. The keychain is made in silver with black edging.
- D-910. The communicator has a small screen, the area of which does not exceed 1/3 of the front panel of the key fob. The device has a removable black plastic antenna and a body with round silver inserts.
- S-800/825/850/875. The key fob features a horizontal screen orientation with a white backlight. The body is made of dark gray plastic and equipped with a built-in antenna. This security system, unlike others, has the function of auto-starting the engine based on voltage, so the display has a characteristic icon in the form of a lightning bolt.
- TD-320. The device has a black body with a thin silver insert around the display and an enlarged eyelet for attaching to a keychain. The remote control screen has a vertical orientation and is distinguished by a large lock icon in the middle.

Equipment setup
The installation is followed by step-by-step setup, because the Alligator alarm instructions from the key fob with four or two buttons contain the necessary tips. Insert the key into the ignition, press and hold the Valet button. After holding it for 3 seconds, the driver presses it 3 times until a sound signal appears. The final step is to quickly press each of the keys located on the remote control in turn. Further procedure:
- turn off the engine;
- disconnect both terminals from the battery;
- turn off the interior lighting safety element to reduce the likelihood of accelerated battery discharge;
- mount the system sensor near the controller using a 4-pin connector;
- turn on the “programming” mode of the alarm control unit;
- select the sensitivity level (from 0 to 10) - the average is 4-5.
Having chosen the sensitivity level, they slap the hood.
On a note! The driver selects a value at which the car, on the one hand, does not react to vibration caused by a random passer-by, and, on the other hand, it will work if there is a break-in attempt. After installation is completed, fix the wires and control unit as indicated in the instructions.
Pros and cons of the remote
Advantages of the Alligator car alarm key fob with auto start:
- Remote setting of the anti-theft system. The user has the opportunity to change the parameters of the alarm functions from the key fob without interacting with the service button located in the car interior.
- Availability of two-way communication. Transmitting information online between the remote control and the system allows the car owner to remotely receive all the necessary information about the state of the complex and the alarm level.
- Automatic engine start. This function remotely activates the operation of the power unit, warming up the internal combustion engine without wasting the user’s time.
- Ergonomic and shock-resistant housing.
Disadvantages of the control panel:
- Fast battery discharge. Despite the fact that the device uses low power consumption technology, the key fob batteries must be changed at least once a month. In addition, the galvanic cell is inconvenient to remove and install due to the shape of the communicator body.
- Functions malfunction. On some remote controls, the alarm setting modes function incorrectly and intermittently. The problem is solved by returning to factory settings.
- Instability to external damage. During operation, many scratches form on the body of the key fob, which worsens its appearance, but does not affect the operation of the device. In order to avoid this problem, you need to purchase a cover.

Having bought a car with an installed security system or lost the instructions, many car enthusiasts are interested in how to determine the alarm model in this case. And since Alligator security systems are very popular and are found frequently, you can determine which Alligator alarm system it is and find out the model by the key fob by comparing the appearance of the devices by visiting the manufacturer’s official website.
Checking the functions of the “825th Alligator”
Car enthusiasts are often interested in the question: how to find out the alarm model using the key fob? This is necessary if you lose the instructions or purchase a car with an already installed alarm system.
You may also need to change the settings and register a new key fob. The Alligator car alarm can be found quite often, as it is popular.
How to find out the Alligator alarm model by key fob: all models in the photo
There can be many reasons for the loss of a model number: the car was purchased second-hand, the instructions were lost, the information on the key fob was erased, the alarm settings were changed, etc.
You can recognize the alarm model first of all by its appearance. To do this you need:
- go to the manufacturer’s official website, look at various models and compare with yours;
- find various sites on the Internet with descriptions of Alligator alarms, look there for key fob options that are similar in appearance;
- study the instructions for similar car alarms that have the same appearance.
Let's look at photos of various Alligator alarm key fobs. At first they were produced with two buttons. These are budget models, with limited functions and no feedback.
These were then replaced by three-button remotes as some features were added.
Keychain appearance
You can determine the Alligator model by the design of the keychain, for this:
- They visit the official website, view alarm models and compare them with their version of the device.
- They find a description of the Alligator model on the Internet and, comparing the types of keychains by external features, look for their own.
- They try to get acquainted with their alarm system by studying the instructions for models that are externally similar.
- Alligator key fob alarm models, which are similar in appearance, may be different in their design.
Having looked at the images of key fobs of various models, you can find out that at first they were produced with 2 buttons, without feedback and limited functionality. Then, with the addition of security system functions, key fobs were replaced by three-button remote controls. The Alligator alarm system belongs to the latest version model and is produced with a four-button remote control equipped with a display and feedback.
Models with buttons
Each series of Alligator security car alarms was produced with a design unique to this version of the model. Thus, the first devices were produced with two buttons, without feedback and with limited functions. The role of the buttons was to open and close the doors and open the trunk. Such an alarm system is inexpensive and belongs to the budget category.
With the increase in functionality, the appearance of the remote control also changed; a third button and an LED were added, while the functions of the buttons remained the same.
More advanced models of Alligator security alarm systems with expanded functionality and feedback are produced with a remote control equipped with a display with 4 buttons.
Remote controls with display
Almost all remote controls with 4 buttons are equipped with a display. But there are four-button remote controls without it, and they are equipped with a feedback function. The display is informative, displays all the functions of the security device, so autostart is displayed in the lower right corner of the screen.
In addition, remote controls of the same series can be interchangeable, for example, devices from the SP “family,” and modifications 30/40 of the same line can even recognize the alarm model if the key fob is of a similar design. But the remote controls of the latest, later series cannot be recognized by devices of earlier versions.
Signals coming from devices of a similar design can be easily read by a security car alarm installed on a car, provided that the communication range is within the limits, because Each remote control has its own range.
Key fobs with a display are available in versions with 5, 4 and even 3 buttons. Remote controls with a screen are available in the Alligator device only with feedback.
Identifying the alarm system using the key fob, especially if the company logo has been preserved, will not be a big problem. To identify the device, just visit the manufacturer’s official website.
How did the models differ from each other in terms of functionality?
By the way the Alligator alarm looks, you can often determine its model. It is equally important to pay attention to the functions of such devices. Thus, the oldest devices had limited functionality and could only open/close doors. But what a problem it became when the doors from the key fob stopped opening or, on the contrary, closing. Over time, a trunk control function appeared in the form of a third button. In addition, models M 725, 750 and 850 were equipped with a turbo timer.
Later, Alligator alarms with two-way communication began to appear on the market. They were easy to recognize by the presence of two key fobs, one of which came with a display. Moreover, there were several dozen models of such devices. The number of buttons, depending on the functions, was four or five. When an alarm situation occurs, the siren is turned on and the panic mode is programmed. A shock sensor has appeared that reacts to mechanical impact and signals the owner about the presence of force majeure.
Now you can imagine how to recognize the alarm using the Alligator key fob. In addition to the methods discussed above, you can go to the official website and try to find the type of interest by description or appearance. But this is a long and painstaking method, so it’s easier to immediately contact specialists at a car service center and clarify the necessary information.
In the comments, describe by what features you recommend specifying the Alligator alarm model, and why.
Studying the car interior
All Alligator key fobs are equipped with stickers with numbers and letters, with the help of which it is possible to identify the car alarm device, including using the necessary information provided online by official product representatives.
If the inscription on the device is not preserved, the system code is found on the control unit located in the car's interior, with the help of which the serial number, emergency shutdown code and description of the security system are determined.
To determine the Alligator alarm device, find the number located on the inside or outside of the removable cover of the control unit, enter it into a search engine and obtain the information of interest. For the same purpose, you can contact a representative of the manufacturer of your car’s security system.
Examination of the car alarm control unit in the cabin
You can see where the car alarm control unit is located in the car. On outdated models and budget products, a piece of paper may simply be pasted with a technical description of the model, its serial number, and even a code that allows you to turn off the alarm in an emergency. As a result, the answer to the question will be revealed: Alligator car alarm - how to determine the model by the key fob? If in this case the car owner fails, then you can do the following:
- there is a serial number on the outer or inner cover side of the car alarm control unit;
- the car owner needs to make an extract on a piece of paper to find the car alarm model;
- the number simply needs to be entered into the search engine, which will indicate which alarm model it is;
- You can more accurately find out the number and type of car alarm on the manufacturer’s website by contacting technical support;
- You can also ask about alarms from an online store that sells such products.
Contacting a car service
To use a new key fob instead of the old one and register it, you need to know what kind of signaling is on the car. To solve this problem, they most often turn to service center specialists who can perform the following types of work:
- Diagnostics of all alarm elements of your car.
- Setting up all system elements.
- Selecting a key fob after studying the signal code.
- Disabling any functions at the user's request.
Having provided the stated services, the center’s specialists will provide all the information about your alarm and teach you how to properly operate the system.
Often key fobs break due to careless handling. In such cases, it is necessary to replace them, and at the same time register a new device to the system. If you can’t install the key fob, it will be easier to replace the entire security car alarm, thereby saving yourself a lot of hassle.
When buying a used car with an installed alarm system, be sure to check the modification of the security system so that later the key fob problem does not have to be solved in the most expensive way - by replacing the entire system.
If there is a key fob for the Alligator alarm system, it doesn’t matter whether it has feedback or not, then how can you determine the model of the security system based on its appearance? The instructions below discuss the answer to this question. Various models of alarms are listed, the total number of which exceeds 30. Most of these systems are not equipped with autostart, but there are also exceptions. The starting point is the appearance of the key fob, that is, the appearance of the remote control or pager. And the word “pager” here refers to a key fob with feedback. If we talk about the Alligator brand, it is known that pagers of this brand are always equipped with a display.
How to connect?
What you need to know about connecting the anti-theft system:
- The yellow wire - power - is connected to the ignition switch, namely to the contact that has voltage when the key is switched to the ON and Start positions. It is important that the voltage on this contact element disappears when the driver turns the key to OFF and ACC mode.
- The purple wire – the positive contact – is connected to the door trigger, namely to the electrical drive connector. The cable through which there is a short circuit to the common wiring when the door is locked must be connected to the power supply of the on-board network. If there is a third wire on the contact group, it should be insulated.
- The brown contact can be used if the installed switch closes to ground when the doors are opened. The wire must be connected to one of the standard switches.
- The dark green cable must be connected to the end switches in the tailgate and hood.
- The yellow-green contact is negative; it is used to block the starter device, but for proper connection you will have to install an additional relay. In accordance with the diagram, it is connected to pin number 86. And pin 85 must be connected to the power wire of the ignition switch. In this case, the contact that goes to the solenoid of the starter device must be cut off, and its second part must be connected to output number 30.
- Black cable – grounding. It is connected to the negative terminal of the battery. All wires must be securely connected and secured.
Diagram for connecting the “signaling”
It is also necessary to connect the top row of the connector:
- Two white contacts are connected to the impulse connector for the turning lights. They need to be connected to the left and right pointer.
- A white contact with a black stripe is the positive output for controlling the alarm siren; it must be connected to a red cable. And the black output is connected to the vehicle ground.
- The red contact coming from the control module must be connected to the positive terminal of the battery. A 15 Amp fuse element must be added to the circuit.
- The white-red contact is connected to the red terminal, and a 5 Amp fuse is used to protect the wiring.
- All other connector pins are used to connect to the built-in control relays on door locks.
Using the Hyundai Getz car as an example, we suggest you familiarize yourself with the procedure for installing and configuring the system; the video was filmed by user Karabas Barabasovich.
As for the remaining plugs:
- The four-pin output is connected to the shock controller;
- the two-pin connector must be connected to the diode indicator;
- another four-pin output is connected to a signal receiving and transmitting device;
- The two-pin plug must be connected to the Valet service button.
Nine budget security systems
Below is what Alligator alarm remotes look like, most of which are equipped with two buttons:
You will notice that each device has an LED in its design. The three-button remotes are part of the M-300/400/500 family, as well as the latest model from the LX family. The "Open" and "Close" functions were separated, but the trunk control option remained.
According to the standard instructions, none of the listed systems are provided with feedback. That is, do not look for a key fob with a display for the LX-990, M-300 or M-500 signaling. We also note that the “out of the box” kit must contain two identical remote controls.
How to recognize a three-button remote control
The Alligator alarm key fob can be equipped with three buttons, and then the model can be recognized by the picture (see below). But note that we are not talking about pagers, but only about remote controls without feedback:
When reading manuals and instructions, you will find information in them:
- The M family signals, which are named above, are not equipped with either auto-start or two-way communication;
- The M-725/750/850 systems are designed with a turbo timer;
- Signals N-105 - N-605 are also not equipped with feedback, and they do not have a turbo timer;
- The NS family is characterized by the same set of functions as indicated above: there is no turbo timer, one-way communication is used, etc.
The photo below shows a remote control that is suitable for many alarms at once. And this is bad - identifying the model will not be easy. However, for most systems to which the “universal remote control” is suitable, a pager is provided.
After studying this chapter, you can decide that the remote control shown in the photo below is included with all Alligator systems that have feedback. But we note that the security system can only be equipped with a pager. In addition, the alarms of the S and SP families come with both a pager and a remote control, but the latter will have 4 keys. A photo of this equipment is given below, and the images themselves are copied from the instructions.
Four buttons or more
Let’s immediately look at what key fobs with a display look like. In our instructions they are called pagers:
Each pager, as we see, is equipped with 4 buttons or 5. This is true even for the S-700RS model.
Remote controls with four buttons
Actually, there are not many four-button remote controls in the Alligator brand’s arsenal:
All of them are designed for two-way communication systems. The same remote controls are suitable for signaling devices of the SP family, although pagers differ for different models:
- The same pager design is suitable for SP-30 and SP-40 systems;
- The 75RS and 55RS alarms are equipped with a different pager that is not suitable for earlier models.
It’s a pity that such information is not written in the basic instructions.
All commands given both from the remote control and from the pager are received by the car security system without errors. But the communication range will vary in each case: for remote controls it can only be 20-30 m. These values, by the way, must be indicated separately in the instructions. Well, the maximum range is typical for a pager - it is equal to a kilometer.
How to find out if autorun is available
It is clear that only those systems that include a pager are equipped with two-way communication. We list them here:
- S Family: 200, 250, 275, 300, 325, 400, 450, 475, 550, 575, 700RS, 725RS and 750RS, 800RS, 825RS, 850RS, 875RS, 975RS;
- SP: 30, 40, 55RS, 75RS;
- C: 200, 300, 500;
- D: 810, 830, 910, 930, 950, 970, 975, 1100RSG;
- TD: all models starting from 310;
- M: any signal with a number greater than 1000.
Not all, but only some of the alarms that have been named are equipped with auto start. For example, in the “C” family, the 200th model does not have this option, but the rest do.
How can you immediately determine whether the signal system has auto start? There should be an icon on the display indicating that the engine is running. Most often this will be an image of smoke, and it is drawn from the bottom right. It turns out that you don’t even need instructions - everything looks so simple!
In conclusion, let's name one model that is an exception. We are talking about the LX-8000RS alarm system: you cannot equip it with a pager, but you can equip it with autostart. We provide a diagram as proof.
Remote controls without a display are suitable for the 8000RS signaling system. But its remote controls, unlike most “one-way” devices, have an increased range. This is stated by the manufacturer.
Why do we need two-way communication?
The car security system also works when the engine is turned off. She must transmit event messages to a pager. This is feedback, that is, two-way communication. And when there is no pager, the essence of security comes down to the following:
- When an alarm situation occurs, the siren, turn signals, etc. are turned on;
- The shock sensor is designed for two levels of impact - with minor impacts, the warning level is triggered.
Systems with feedback are characterized by the same properties. In addition, they can transmit messages.
When designing a “two-way” security system, we always adhere to the following rule: the “transmission” communication range should be maximum.
Most models belonging to the Alligator brand are “one-sided”:
- N and NS families: models 105-605;
- TD: 210, 212, 215;
- L: 330-730;
- M: 300, 400, 425 and so on, up to the 850 series;
- LX: the whole series.
For a long time, the presence of a display was generally considered a tribute to fashion. And the owners installed only one-way systems. However, such systems are still being produced, and the demand for them has not decreased. That is, these products have their own market niche.
A key fob without a display is powered by a coin cell battery. The capacity of such batteries is very small. Note that such devices cannot have feedback. This also applies to the LX-8000RS model, which has already been discussed.
Tamper resistance
There is one online resource where they offer to purchase a manufactured code grabber - a device that cracks alarm codes. This device looks like a key fob, but it fits most Alligator systems. The code of one-way key fobs, as well as the code of various pagers, is emulated. The exception, supposedly, will be one of them: we are talking about a key fob with a “diode” display (S-250/275).
Any car alarm that uses the keeloq code can be hacked. Let us clarify that this statement also applies to models with a “diode” display. It would be strange if something new was used in the S-275 or S-250 - both systems are budget. Draw your own conclusion.
You can immediately find a resource offering other similar equipment. But all Alligator models will be listed there.
Anyone who knows how to use search will find confirmation. We wish you success.
